I am very disappointed that my order has still not arrived, despite your team promising delivery within a couple of days.

I provided the correct address when placing my order, yet you later claimed it was incorrect. This is unacceptable, and I find the way this has been handled disrespectful.

I am frustrated with waiting and with promises that have not been honoured.
My order then was cancelled but till the date of today I’ve not received my refund . 🤡

Do not use this company!

My order was missing a bottle of wine when delivered. After contacting the customer support it was implied that I was lying and that the order had been packaged correctly.

I had to send photos and fill out a form to corroborate my position whilst they "investigated" my claim and dithered between making a refund or honoring the order, all whilst I had paid in full (and a considerable amount).

I finally got the wine I had originally ordered over 1 month later, which I had to keep chasing for a response.

Incredibly poor customer service, which certainly doesn't put the customer first and unfortunately this experience has meant that I will never use them again.

So sad, for something that could have been resolved quickly and painlessly.

If I could award zero stars, I would. From the outset the service was terrible. In the first instance they completely forgot our order, then after getting in touch with them a week later, "It will be shipped tomorrow."
Still no sign. When we chased them up, our original choice was unavailable. The replacement? Less than half the price of our first order.

If I could give no stars, I would. Ordered 2 bottles of wine for a gift. The recipient messaged me to say thanks, but that one of the wines was leaking on arrival. They took the foil off the wine and explained that the cork appeared damaged. But did not open the bottle any further.
I messaged the company with photos and got told that their terms and conditions say no refund or replacement if the bottle has been opened. I looked up their terms and conditions myself and they clearly state if a bottle is damaged or faulty, they will replace or refund. I queried this, sending back their exact terms and they changed their mind to say we had to send the bottle back at which point they will refund/replace. I then had to ask if I was supposed to send the faulty item back myself and pay for it. At which point they said no, they would send labels through via email to arrange collection.

I then said thank you and that the first email appeared to say they wouldn't replace and got a snotty email back to say that the first email was quite clear. How is that first email quite clear if it took me 3 emails to be told what to do and told they need to send me collection details? I said I wasn't happy with their attitude or poor customer service as at no point had they even apologised at the broken bottle to hear absolutely nothing back from them.

Collection was arranged. Bottle collected by DHL and then nothing. I sent a further 2 emails to ask about a refund or replacement, in the end opting for a refund and again, nothing. DHL tracker says the item was collected and signed for and no reply to my emails or refund/replacement. In the end I have had to go through my bank to claim the money back from them.
Don't use this poor excuse for a company.

If you want to order a case of wine. Wait 10 days. Are happy to receive limited to no response from emails and voice messages then if your fortunately enough for your wine to turn up. Have one bottle missing and another bottle with a completely different vintage date to what you ordered. Then this is the company for you.
Seriously, afford this company.
I got completely blindsided buy the website and the wines they said they could provide. If only I had done my research.
This is the worse company I have dealt with .

Ordered a £150 bottle of Pomerol to be shipped direct to a friend for a milestone birthday. They shipped a different vintage, worth £70 to him with no communication of the substitution to me.

To their credit, when I complained they offered to collect the bottle for free and ultimately refunded me the difference without quibbling, but the website still shows the bottle I ordered as in stock.

Not what I’d hope for when ordering fine wine

Stay clear - stay very very very clear. There are other places to get your wines so please consider your options.

I questioned the ‘delivery’ of a large shipment 3 hours after it was ‘delivered’ to be told…

‘ Why have you waited so long to contact us about this most customers would contact us immediately by phone/email about this issue’…

followed by another patronising insinuating email stated

‘I am sure the recipient at number 1 (…) will give you the cider back to you as they will be the ones getting in trouble if they do not. Speaking frankly we do not get any issues with deliveries going missing..’.

Utterly unprofessional and rude. Who runs this company, a complete novice.

I ordered 12 bottles of Geoff Merrill 2016 Cab, I received updated emails from Fine Wines after two days and all the wine delivered as promised on the fifth day after I ordered. I have tasted the wine, and it is perfect.

I arranged for a delivery to a friend after the bereavement of his wife. They stated delivered on DHL website but it was never received. I got in touch with the company and they said the wine had been damaged but no photos? They apologised and stated they would action a refund. I am still waiting over 3 weeks later. Shocking.

Dreadful wine extortionate delivery and return costs.. wine tasted like water feel I was ripped off.. never again..

Late delivery, poor communication and sent the wrong wine without apology. Won’t use them again

Unfortunately, the numerous negative reviews are accurate. Shipping is perhaps the worst on the planet - thus making this company unreliable and thus critical to avoid doing business with them. There is no excuse for such amateur business ethics and frustrating conduct. If you read this before ordering, then empty your cart and go somewhere else. You have been warned.

Dreadful company. Please avoid!! Ordered 2 cases of Whispering Angel. Paid £11.99 delivery charge. After over a week got a DHL notification ‘out for delivery’. It was a Friday. It never arrived. The following Monday 1 case arrived. Rang DHL assured the remaining case would arrive the following day. It didn’t. Rang again on the Wednesday informed that as there had been no update it was considered ‘missing’ and to contact them directly. After a week of emails they do not answer the phone I eventually got a refund for the wine. They claimed it had been stolen at the depot and was a police matter. They totally ignored my request for a part refund of the very expensive delivery charge. Absolute cowboys so avoid at all costs!

I've placed a couple of orders so far making significant savings on some great wines.

I had a couple of questions on delivery and got straight through to an actual person who dealt with everything very professionally. I'll definitely be watching the web site for more great bargains.

I don’t normally write reviews but I ordered 6 bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne on the 22nd Dec. I ordered before reading the reviews below and was quite concerned given this page but pleasantly, 6 bottles arrived this week, all correct. I emailed about the 7th and received a reply within 5 minutes saying it was out of stock and they have refunded me. Potentially I got very lucky but wanted to share that I have had a positive experience with them. Giving 4 stars not 5 as I haven’t drunk any yet.

Shame I couldn’t give it less than one star really as that’s all they deserved, at best! My wife ordered a £220 bottle of wine for my xmas present right at the beginning of December and when it finally arrived, two weeks later, it was the wrong bottle. Cue numerous emails and phone calls to a number which was never answered and voice messages which were never returned. Finally we received an email from DHL (not the wine company) saying they were picking the bottle back up but by now it was early January. More emails and calls to find out if we were to receive a refund or the bottle we originally paid for were never replied to and it took a much more ‘forceful’ email from myself to receive a very short reply which read like it had been written by a child (no offence to children intended). Whilst eventually we did receive a full refund it’s all too clear this really isn’t a ‘proper’ wine company and I only wish my wife had seen these reviews before she ordered.

Simply do not use them, you will only be bitterly dissappointed.

Ordered a case of 6 Gavoty for a Christmas gift on 13th Dec 2025, It arrived on the 30th Dec 2025 with a note written on box with a marker pen, 'Last 2, 4 refunded'. no apology, no email. also I found the wine online, same year, for £4 a bottle cheaper. Poor unacceptable service .

Avoid this company - ordered on 17/12 with a delivery time frame of 4-5 days . It’s now 3rd January and we have still not received anything .
Seems like a common occurrence with this company, wish I’d read the reviews beforehand.
Save your money , shop elsewhere .

Unreliable delivery.

Ordered Champagne for Xmas. I tried unsuccessfully to contact about shipping and delivery date by phone, live chat, and email.

My order had not been sent out to the courier company after 6 full working days.

Finally was emailed on 30th
December and told (a) the company was closed over Xmas and New Year, (b) the order had not reached the courier company, and (c) they would refund or start looking into my missing order when they reopened in January. At least refund was received today.

What company operates this way?
