Outstanding company, outstanding product
I can only echo the enthusiastic reviews here for this amazing company - their mission is to get more people out biking, and they truly go the extra mile to make it happen. I adore my FLIT bike, it's so well designed and I find it so much nicer than the electric Brompton I tested - I think because the battery is lower to the ground, which makes it feel so much more stable.
The customer service is really incredible - I managed to break my bike out of the box due to not reading the folding instructions carefully enough, and not only were they completely non-judgemental of my mistake, they found time to fix it immediately after I brought it back to the warehouse.
You will not regret purchasing from this delightful team, I highly recommend!
The Flit M2 is superb
The Flit M2 is superb. I wanted to start cycling to work and the first bike i got was a cheap Halfords that cost £280, it was not electric and it made me say "cycling is not for me" after i went half a mile and nearly collapsed of exhaustion but i gave it another shot, this time getting a premium electric bike, the M2, a £2000 risk (i got an outlet version) and i love it, the electric M2 has got me into biking. I use it to get to and from work, my commute is unfortunately hilly and full of potholes but so far over 2 weeks in the M2 is holding up even when i was going a bit too fast downhill and accidently slammed the wheel into a pothole, i actually look forward to the work commute despite how bad my commute path is because its fun. What i love most is how simple it is, i don't have to worry about gears at all, the lights are conveniently and very elegantly built in, its one size fits all and the motor hub is so beautifully simple and easy to use, you just get on and ride without having to think about anything, even the unboxing was painless, just open the box, put on the seat, unfold and go. It feels very good and smooth especially when you start and you get that "push" from the motor, no vibrations or anything and minimal noise. It feels very premium, well made and looks beautiful. If i have to give any nitpicks, the rubber seal that protects the battery charging port on the side is kinda annoying to get back in after its out, i would have preferred a plastic lid that snaps neatly into the hole and opens like a door, turns are also quite sharp, the fold is more hands on than some others i seen, the battery doesn't last that long (granted i use max assist and am a little heavy), the rear mudguard has a tendency of slipping back and i had an odd anomaly at the start where the motor assist would sometimes change by itself but that has stopped happening. So far though im very happy and i cant wait to see what Flit do next.
Great support for a superb foldable ebike
A gem of a company located in the backwaters of Cambridge that not only designs and assembles one of the lightest and best designed foldable ebikes available, but provides great service as well. I've had issues with the controller and kick stand and both cases were resolved free under warranty without and fuss or hassle.
The Flit is great! Best bike I have ever owned.
So much better than my other foldable e-bike!
The Flit is a masterpiece, I tell everyone it's like a electronic brompton! It packs down very small (I can even place it under the dj booth where I play out), and is pretty easy to carry. Battery lasts for a very long time. It's got amazing parts like disk brakes, and saved me having to cycle home from central london to the border of london/essex on Christmas day!
Highly recommend, not just the bike, the customer support/company. Cambridge's finest!
Really great bike for a bike-train-bike person. The Brompton is up for sale
I'm very used to a Brompton for my life of cycling/transport/cycling, but having moved to hilly Sheffield, things quickly unravelled!
The Flit M2 is a dream upgrade - similar feel, fold, ability to roll along, and to stand half-folded like the Brompton, which is brilliant. It feels familiar with handling too, but the electricness makes the considerable inclines and long hills hereabouts as painless as cycling on the flat, and the brakes (not sure what they are but they don't look like normal bike brakes) are really good for heading downhill - responsive, and reassuring. Sorry for my non techy language, I am not a bike nerd! It is a bit heavier and larger than my Brompton, but only a bit. The fact there are no loose cables, wires or gearing stuff (er, the bits around a back wheel) to snag on is neat, and the integrated lights are nifty too.
A very minor development suggestion - having a charger cable that was standard would be wonderful, rather than needing to carry around a large charger only for this item, as it's quite cumbersome. Maybe some adaptor to a standard laptop cable?

You are not just buying a top class bike you are buying into a lovely company filled with brilliant humans
What can I say! You are not only buying a beautiful piece of engineering you are buying into an amazing company of people who go the extra mile for their customers. I love my Flit M2 and live in Bristol which is very hilly and it performs magnificently! I am 6ft’1 and it is so comfortable to ride. I couldn’t be happier. When I needed my bike serviced I popped it into their unit in Cambridge and they replaced bits that I didn’t even know that had broken!

You won't regret choosing this bike
Having had this bike for three weeks now and used it daily on my commute I'm happy (and relieved) to say replacing the Brompton C Line Electric with the Flit M2 has been a great decision.
The fold takes a few goes to get used to but now I have it's just as quick as the Brompton.
The bike is noticeably nippier off the mark - you really zip away from traffic at the lights. I'm guessing this is perhaps because the Brompton was front wheel drive and a lot of weight on the front relative to the M2, which feels much more balanced.
The riding position is very upright and comfortable. I personally never quite felt like the Brompton handlebars were quite where I want them to be. I guess this may be personal to individuals based on your height/reach.
Most of all, the bike is so much easier to manoeuvre when folded. Not having a separate battery to carry and then also being able to wheel it makes moving with the bike folded so much easier. Game changer.
The only thing I'm really missing is a bell. I bought the one they recommended but the first time I unfolded the bike it caught the mechanism and pulled the spring out.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to buy a folding electric bike to commute with.
Faultless service, great bike
Just received the M2 and Flit have delivered a great bike and service. The purchasing experience was faultless, from the response time to all my questions to delivery.
A few things to note:
- Proud to be supporting a British designed /made bike company. The advantage is that if you have questions or have service/repair issues then you don't have far to go
- If you want a light folder to take to the train station, carry up steps and take onto the train, then this is the bike for you (I am 5ft so can't do big, heavy bikes)
- the M2 is torque, which means the more you pedal the more power kicks in. However there are no gears or throttle/boost button which means if you have dodgy knees then hill starts can be an issue. Something to consider (my previous e-bikes have been cadence)
- if you're not so fit and live somewhere hilly, assistance level 5 should be fine but because you have to pedal harder then it will be a slight workout
- the fold system takes a bit of getting used to, just need practice. The back wheel is easy, the front wheel I am lifting up the front of the bike to let gravity help me fold it down
- no space for a luggage rack if you're going to have it folded a lot
Anyway so far so good - would love the next models to have a throttle/boost button!
Thanks Flit, keep up the good work!
A well made product
A well made product, but also fast responses to emails and good comms by knowledgeable people.
Flit M2
I waited 18 months for my bike which I bought without having test driven it or even seeing one ( but I did do a lot of research- including talking to some of the team at Flit and test driving an electric Brompton and gocycle before buying it.) I was pretty sure that the design of the Flit was going to be better for me and I think it definitely is. It was absolutely worth the long wait. I really love it. It is so easy to cycle- even without using the electric power. The fold is easy , though doing it confidently takes some practise, and the build quality seems really good. It folds small which is great for storage. In addition to all that though, the team have answered every question I have thrown at them. They answer the phone and emails. This is an exceptionally well designed bike made by a wonderful team of people who value customer service. I hope that they will be very successful.
Another awesome commuter bike
I've owned their Flit-16 and now M2. Both are great bikes. The power applies smoothly and there are low resistances, so the bike just rides itself. Easy to fold/unfold, takes little space in the boot. Suspension works great, it's more like flying than riding most of the time.
As for M2 vs 16:
+ frame is cast, it looks very neat, no welding marks
+ cables are packed into the frame, overall less moving parts/cables outside or attachments, again, very neat
+ hydraulic brakes are great, very smooth to apply and react quickly
+ saddle is very comfy
+ display is more minimalistic, love it
+ supposed to have more power, and be lighter, but both bikes are great in that regard
+ I like that he light is built-in a frame. It's like a position light though, not a road light, but that's what's needed most of the time during normal use in the city
- you can have it in any color as long as it's slate grey
- rear red reflector thing was mounted very woobly when i received it (it's easy to remedy, but come on)
- rear mudguard demands lifting it more when rolling, though I like the new mudguard design overall, sturdy
- brake cable/pipe placement in the front is interfering with folding/unfolding. small thing, but perhaps can be moved to a side more.
But best thing about that is the company that makes it, and level of support provided.
Rides beautifully and folds down small…
Rides beautifully and folds down small - delighted with the bike!
Quality kit
Quality, well thought out kit that I and my children love. Great product thank you team Flit.
Review after one month of use
After an 18-month wait, I finally received my Flit M2 in January, and it has been worth every second. In just a few weeks, I've already done over 200 km on my work commutes, and I’m absolutely in love with this little folding e-bike!
What I Love
✅ Lightweight & Compact – At just 14kg, it’s easy to carry and folds quickly once you get the hang of it.
✅ Smooth Ride – The rear suspension makes a big difference on bumpy roads, and the 16-inch wheels handle city riding well.
✅ Efficient Electric Assist – The 250W motor gives a natural boost, and hills are effortless.
✅ Decent Range – With up to 50 km per charge, I can go several days without recharging.
Things to Improve
❌ Front Light – While it looks sleek, it doesn’t do much to brighten the road. A stronger light is a must for night riding.
❌ Folding Mudguard – At first, I kept forgetting to fold/unfold it, but I’ve gotten used to it now.
❌ Maneuverability When Folded – The biggest downside is that you can only roll it forward when folded, making it tricky to move around in tight spaces.
Extras & Final Thoughts
I added a Knog bell, which has been perfect for alerting pedestrians and other cyclists. Overall, despite a few small issues, the Flit M2 has completely transformed my daily commute. It’s stylish, practical, and fun to ride—definitely one of the best folding e-bikes out there!
All good things come to those that wait...
Never has a quote been more fitting. After waiting almost 12 months for my Flit M2 through Pre-order it arrived and I couldn't be happier.
This is a beautifully executed piece of British engineering. The perfect balance of function and form. I don't know whether to commute with it or just hang it on my wall.
After a few practises, folding and unfolding takes a few moments, the functions are very easy to use and I was really impressed with the ride comfort, something I hadn't really even considered when deciding on a folding bike.
It's fast whenever you want it to be and it can get to the UK electric bicycle speed limit very quickly. On my four mile London commute I don't really need to use above the 3rd speed. There is one very steep hill where the 5th speed makes it effortless.
At around 15kg with the battery in it is light enough for me to carry short distances and up stairs etc. It can also be wheeled folded up using the saddle to steer.
The Flit M2 is everything I hoped it would be and more and I love the fact that I am supporting a start up British company of talented and passionate people.
It was well worth the wait.
Happy commuting
The bike itself is really well put together and it has drawn some attention on the London Underground. Not sure the UK roads are maintained well enough, so can be a bit bumpy hitting some potholes, but not a reflection on the bike. Delivery did take a while but i know getting the design right was important and efficiencies implemented by FLIT should see bikes being delivered faster. All in all, really happy with the purchase and i hope for many happy miles on my cummute
Flit M2
It's a great product, great ride and looks stylish.
Good to be at the start of something new. Friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable team.
so glad to be riding this great bike
It's tough to be pioneers but so glad to be finally riding the flit 2.It's so well built and a joy to ride.
A bike that moves everything forward
A really nice bike from a responsive enthusiastic company. A very good customer experience with a product which works well in quite a crowded market. The e-folder is easy to use and brings innovation to the concept. Every time I think something would be good to have on such a vehicle like a notch to clip the folded front wheel onto the frame, an unobtrusive kickstand or foldback mudguards, I find it’s been thought about on the M2. The bike looks like a big step forward in this sector and the treatment of and communication with customers is top rate.
Excellent Customer Service
I recently bought an electric bike from FLIT and love it.The bike is great, and the customer service was excellent Highly recommend.
