Beautiful book - you can tell it's made of quality materials that will stand the test of time. A bit expensive but hoping the quality makes up for it.

Tom Holland is probably one of the very best historians of his generation. Outstanding and Rubicon is a fantastic achievement, full of human detail, new stories, and a grand view of the end of the Roman Republic. The entire triology (Rubicon, Dinasty and Pax) is worthy of the summits of historical literature. To read avidely and re read. The only bad thing is that eventually you will come to the end of the story.

My first experience with a Tom Holland work . It is exceedingly clever on several levels, and very stylishly, but plainly written. It makes me sorry I didn't order Persian Fire before it went out of print. I may even sample his fiction. The volume is beautiful, a joy to read.

I have been wanting to buy this for a long time, this was an impulse buy which with hindsight I should have waited a bit longer before buying. The book is beautifully illustrated, I have never been disapointed by anything sold from The Folio Society.

Beautifully designed and produced edition of a favourite work. I'm very glad this came back into print as secondary market prices had soared to more than twice the Folio RRP.

A beautiful edition of a highly popular text. It was so popular indeed that a second printing was necessary. Excellent work!

Beautifully made, as all Folio editions alway are. All the components work very well together. Nothing feels just "thrown in" as I've felt in other books.
