Hi Mohammed,

Thanks for your update. Your email came through at around 3pm on a bank holiday Saturday, and a review was left at approximately 5:30pm the same day.

As we don’t operate on bank holidays, we responded as soon as we were back in the office, at which point this was picked up and resolved.

Royal Mail marking a return as delivered to our address does not always mean it has reached our returns department and been processed internally, which appears to have been the case here.

We’re glad this has now been resolved, and appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We’re sorry to hear that the fragrances you sampled didn’t meet your expectations but your frustration is unfortunately misplaced here.

What you’ve described is actually one of the main reasons our service exists. There’s often a big gap between how a fragrance is talked about online and how it comes across in real life. Sampling can sometimes be disappointing, but it also prevents the much bigger disappointment of committing to a full bottle that turns out not to be what you hoped for. Some products don't live up to the hype, fragrances are not alone in this.

It may be worth mentioning that nose fatigue/nose blindness can play a part in sampling, particularly when testing multiple scents in a short space of time. This can significantly mute perception, especially with dense or resinous profiles, and can sometimes give the impression that a fragrance is weaker than it actually is. The trick here is to allow a few moments for the alcohol content to evaporate off before smelling, as alcohol vapours are the element that temporarily dull your sense of smell.

To be absolutely clear, we do not sell fakes, duplicates or any other variation of non-original fragrance, nor do we dilute any of our samples. Every decant is taken directly from genuine retail bottles and transferred unaltered into sample atomisers. There’s no incentive for us to do otherwise, and our reviews reflects this. Selling fake fragrances as real is in no way a viable business model, we would not be here if we did this – nor would we want to do this. We are here because we love fragrance and we want everyone to have the opportunity to explore them.

If you ever have concerns about any order, it’s always worth contacting the vendor directly first. We could have quickly provided reassurance in this instance by sending over pictures of the original bottles your samples were decanted from, all of which are kept on file. The deadline for you to do this has not passed, please feel free to do so at any time.

We appreciate you giving the samples time and we understand the frustration when something doesn’t live up to the hype. We’d just suggest reframing the outcome as having saved yourself from investing in full bottles that ultimately weren’t right for you.

Hi Simon,

I want to be very clear that there is no intention to mislead you or anyone else. My earlier response wasn’t to dismiss your experience, only to outline some common factors that can influence how a fragrance is perceived and to explain how our service operates.

We categorically do not sell diluted or fake fragrances. Every sample is decanted directly from genuine retail bottles, purchased within the last year, and transferred unaltered. If that were not the case, our Trustpilot feedback would reflect it very quickly, and we simply would not still be operating.

Perception of strength can vary significantly between batches, formulations, skin chemistry, and even expectations. Comparing a fresh decant against an older bottle owned by someone else doesn’t always produce a like-for-like result, particularly with fragrances that have been on the market for many years and may exist across multiple production runs. If I were to hazard a guess, your last was referring to Dior Fahrenheit, which is generally agreed to be weaker than it's original formulation.

Changes like this are often a result of changes in legislature restricting the use of certain ingredients.

I appreciate that you feel strongly about this, and I’m sorry the samples didn’t align with what you expected. All I can state, without reservation, is that the items you received were genuine and unaltered. Misrepresentation would be an unsustainable foundation for a business, and it’s not something we engage in.

Thanks for sharing your experience, we’re really sorry to hear the testers didn’t meet your expectations.

What you might have encountered is something called "noseblindness", also known as olfactory fatigue. It’s surprisingly common when trying multiple fragrances at once. When your nose is exposed to several scents in a short time, your senses can become overwhelmed and temporarily numb to new smells. This is completely natural - it’s your body’s way of avoiding sensory overload - but it can make a fragrance seem like it has no scent, even when it does.

Just to confirm, we do not alter the fragrances in any way, nor do we use fakes, copies, or duplicates - we only ever use the genuine article. We’re passionate about fragrance and started this to share that love with others, not to mislead anyone.

To get the best experience with your testers, we recommend:

- Smelling something neutral (like a sleeve or plain fabric) between each scent

- Taking breaks between samples to reset your senses
