Beware the Wet Room !
As a ‘Senior’ couple who have travelled the World, we were not interested in the golf, spa or other sporting offerings. We wanted a secure and safe base to possibly self cater, and in the main, the cottage we were allotted fulfilled the requirement.
Although it was impossible to lock our front door when inside !
On arrival, despite booking months in advance, it was underwhelming that we were asked to settle the THREE days accommodation costs immediately, this didn't augur well for the visit.
TV offered basic terrestrial channels with no streaming TV unless you paid. (a developing trend)
With no breakfast included, for what was a very high room rate, we opted to self cater.
Wet rooms seem popular in Ireland; but the floor when wet is a total nightmare, especially for my wife who is partially disabled….be careful.
With a dishwasher, and washing machine, perhaps a little OTT for a three day visit, a coffee table, chopping block and some shelving in the bathroom for toiletries would be welcome. And most of all PLUGS for all sinks, as throughout they were ALL missing!
The takeaway from WOODPECKER was excellent.
A large Brandy and pint of lager was nearly £30.00; which was quite a shock. At least paying for it, rather than charging to a room key, made sure we never repeated the exercise !
We won't return.
