Beware the Wet Room !

As a ‘Senior’ couple who have travelled the World, we were not interested in the golf, spa or other sporting offerings. We wanted a secure and safe base to possibly self cater, and in the main, the cottage we were allotted fulfilled the requirement.
Although it was impossible to lock our front door when inside !
On arrival, despite booking months in advance, it was underwhelming that we were asked to settle the THREE days accommodation costs immediately, this didn't augur well for the visit.
TV offered basic terrestrial channels with no streaming TV unless you paid. (a developing trend)
With no breakfast included, for what was a very high room rate, we opted to self cater.
Wet rooms seem popular in Ireland; but the floor when wet is a total nightmare, especially for my wife who is partially disabled….be careful.
With a dishwasher, and washing machine, perhaps a little OTT for a three day visit, a coffee table, chopping block and some shelving in the bathroom for toiletries would be welcome. And most of all PLUGS for all sinks, as throughout they were ALL missing!
The takeaway from WOODPECKER was excellent.
A large Brandy and pint of lager was nearly £30.00; which was quite a shock. At least paying for it, rather than charging to a room key, made sure we never repeated the exercise !
We won't return.

Absolutely disgusting mattress

Absolutely disgusting mattress
This was a return stay for a previous dirty mattress and this one was worse.
I’ve stayed here twice this year and both stays were majorly disappointing considering the proclaimed 5 star experience advertised (and the cost that comes along with it). We stayed in the Shepherds huts in Feb and were met with a bag of rubbish & henry the hoover still occupying the cabin. The room phone also was out of order for the duration of our two night stay. We later found that the mattress was covered in wood chippings so had clearly not been properly turned over. When we raised this to management we were compensated with a bottle of bubbly which a google search informed us was available in Tesco for less than £10. For this sub par experience we were offered a return stay for a discounted rate, which we accepted as these things happen right?
However, on our return trip (the main hotel this time) When turning in for the night, we inadvertently pulled the sheet away from the mattress and what we found had us wishing for the days of mere wood chippings. The mattress was COVERED in hairs, long, short, curly, you name it. And the straw that broke the camels back was the large brown/yellow stain that occupied my half of the bed.
Again we raised this to management and we were met with the declaration that “he had only been working there 4 weeks & that he would email us”. The communication since then has been an attempt to coax us back for another stay at a discount. We then asked for a refund and this has seemingly fallen on deaf ears.
Unless we are just unusually unlucky, something tells me that this is a wider issue at the resort. Thats 2 in 2
The extortionate prices clearly should be spent more wisely in regards to room cleanliness & facilities.

Perfect Getaway

Spent the night at the Galgorm on 29/10/25 & it was such a beautiful experience. The grounds are stunning & so peaceful, with plenty to explore. We stayed in the cabins & they were impeccably clean and welcoming. We went for drinks in the little pub on site, & the live musician was excellent! We really enjoyed both his sets. All the staff members in the pub were warm & friendly. Special shout out to Grace, my masseuse, who had such a kind & calm energy. I had a full body massage that actually brought me to tears as it relieved so much tension I’d been holding. I’ll carry the experience with me forever.
Also special thanks to Ryan the night porter who kindly transported us around the Galgorm as I had a bad knee. He really made our night with his warm & friendly manner.
Thank you, Galgorm! We’ll be back!

Awful

Very disappointing stay at the hotel.
The room was not up to the price tag which was 340 pounds for a family room. It needed decorated. There were black marks on the walls and the carpet was not clean. On the terrace there were weeds growing everywhere, huge cobwebs complete with spiders and lovely cigarette butts thrown all over the ground ( maybe to hide the weeds?). My pillowcase also had black marks on it.
I wrote to Galgorm asking the manager to contact me as none of the above was good enough.
It’s a month later and no contact has been made from Galgorm to me.
I’d never been to the hotel and spa before. I won’t be back. It’s overpriced, terrible interior decor inside, and as I’ve said not too clean!
Paying over 300 pounds for weeds, cobwebs, spiders, cigarette butts, dirty bed linen, carpets and marks on the walls. Who do these people think they are? They are trading on their name which has been established now in N Ireland, and clearly they don’t really give a fig. Can’t even contact a paying customer when asked.
Oh and it’s 17 pounds for a cocktail. I’ll be sticking with the other hotels in N Ireland from now on.
Thankyou Galgorm.

£5.20 for a small bottle of Pepsi max…

£5.20 for a small bottle of Pepsi max is just obscene.
The food is AVERAGE at best and the irony is sky high prices yet foreign staff on barely above minimum wage. For me this is the BIGGEST RIP OFF IN NI and people staying here want to believe they are as wealthy as the people who can afford but don't stay here

Worst stay to date

I have stayed at the galgorm numerous times over the years and have always enjoyed our stay until now. I had sent an email in regard to my complaint but surprise surprise there was no reply.

It started from the check in experience we arrived and normally you are greeted at the door but no one was there. We got to the check in desk and the attitude of the lady behind the desk was plain to see, she had asked us had we stayed before I said we had her reply “I won’t need to go through any of this jargon with you “ and proceeded to hand us our key. I had to ask her to confirm breakfast times to which she didn’t seem impressed having to do her job, we were then told about a towel key required for the spa to which they don’t have any left so just ask the spa reception for one. We were not even given and option do we want to book dinner that evening nor was anything really explained about our stay.

We arrived at our room which was ok however there was no option to even adjust the room temperatures apart from a fan, and out of date furniture. The bed was two single beds pushed together with a mattress topper that didn’t fit and a bed sheet that wasn’t even fitted, the bed then left a gap in the middle which was uncomfortable for both of us to sleep in. For this being the luxury galgorm I was quite surprised with this.

The other surprise was the work that was getting carried out to the building outside our room where a drill was being used to drill into concrete this went on for hours again not the relaxing experience we had been use to.

We made it to the spa which this is suppose to be the best part of the galgorm, well the empty champagne glasses that were everywhere around the spa the broken glass the corks and empty champagne bottles were a shock to us. We went into to one of steam rooms to find glasses all over the floor of it not ideal in bare feet. I have never had this experience before in the galgorm it looked like the spa was over booked as we spent most of our time walking around in circles looking for a free hot tub.

The cherry on the cake for this was our breakfast experience the next morning. We waited approximately 10-15 minutes before being asked by a member of your staff can I help you, I explained we were in for breakfast and give out room number we were seated and we were giving a menu we asked for tea and coffee for the table when it arrived and to my shock the milk was off, I asked the waitress to come over and she apologised she took our hot food order and returned 15 minutes later with what was suppose to be fresh milk again and surprise surprise this was also off milk, they came out with our hot food took our cereal bowls away and then landed with fresh milk at this stage our coffee and tea pots were cold so In short we didn’t get any coffee or tea or able to eat our cereal this is shocking considering the experiences we have had before.

At Check out there was no care taken more of a give me your room key and leave . The door man also done a great job of watching us struggle to open the door with our luggage while he waited on the other side of the door.

We have our wedding booked with your sister hotel this year and if it’s anything like the experience we received here It doesn’t bode well for the so called galorm collection

False advertising

Galgorm group have taken over Roe Park Resort and advertising 10% off online for a pre paid over night stay but when you go to book a night you can't ?? I rang the hotel and spoke to the manager and turns out they had withdrawn the offer the previous day but the website had not been changed, they were aware of this as told me website would be updated in the following days. They would not honour the deal they were advertising online through Google search and their website. A big group like that, can definitely afford to honour the deals they are advertising. False advertising and terrible customer service.

Hair in food, slobs in pool

Been a few times before but it has gone incredibly downhill. People hogging the hot tubs and ordering drinks constantly yet no staff tell them to leave, witnessed a couple touching eachother in one of the glass bottom pools (no self respect), breakfast has gotten poor, watered down apple and cranberry juice. Spent £45 on ordering food to our cottage and found a lovely hair in my pasta. Not worth the money so disappointed and won’t be back
