Intransparent & Contradictory Recommendations
I found out about Game of Trades through their YouTube channel, which is excellent. I therefore signed up for their paid service through their website for around USD50/month.
However, to my dismay, the trading suggestions provided through their website are of limited value for the following reasons:
(1) Trading recommendations (for individual stocks) appear to be made solely based on technical analysis. There is ZERO consideration for the earnings or future earnings of the companies involved. Some of the recommendations are published days before earnings announcements!
(2) The "tracker" showing their supposed trades on the homepage differs from the actual trading recommendations on their website, if you compare the two. There are countless trading suggestions that quickly went negative and were closed - however, you would only find out about this by reading and keeping track of their articles.
(3) They recommend to buy/short-sell around 15-20 stocks/ETFs/crypto currencies in total. The companies are seemingly random, such as Paccar Inc. - it is not explained why they chose those and not any others of the thousands of stocks out there.
(4) You need to read their website DAILY as they add/remove stocks from the list of 15-20 almost daily. Most of their investments are very short-term.
(5) Some of the stock recommendations contradict their free YouTube videos. For example, they recommend Paccar (a trucking company) and XPO (a freight company) as of July 31, 2024, even though in their YouTube videos they mention the transportation sector is going down (and is used as an early indicator for a badly performing economy). Furthermore, the transport-related stock XPO they recommend already went up by 400% BEFORE they published their recommendation. Investing in XPO doesn't seem logical - but they recommend it based on technicals alone (the stock went south by 8% after their recommendation).
(5) The above are just examples, there are many similar recommendations that contradict info in their videos. Other users are wondering whether some of these trades make sense, and usually ask questions in the comments of their articles. However, these are rarely answered by the Game of Trades team.
While their free YouTube videos are very informative, I am cancelling my 1 month subscription for the above reasons.
