Diabolical patient admin care
I have been trying since the beginning of this year to arrange a private consultation with an endocrinologist, and unfortunately the administrative support and communication I experienced has been extremely disappointing.
The level of customer care provided by a PA has, in my experience, ranged from poor to virtually non-existent. Emails are not responded to in a timely manner, and there appears to be no straightforward way to speak to someone directly by telephone to clarify matters quickly and efficiently. As a patient, the process feels unnecessarily difficult, with constant hurdles and delays simply to arrange an appointment.
I fully understand that certain procedures, blood tests, and referral information are required before consultations can proceed. However, this could all be communicated and managed in a far more professional, organised, and patient-friendly manner.
Having attended other private medical consultations previously, I have experienced significantly better administrative support from other clinics and consultants’ staff, where communication is clearer, more accommodating, and patients are treated with a greater sense of care and urgency.
For a private healthcare service, the overall experience has been frustrating and far below the standard I expected.
