Absolutely terrible job.

Unfortunately my clean was a poor experience. Many surfaces were left untouched. My blinds were damaged due to a bizarre cleaning technique of hitting things with a tea towel. My bathroom lights were damaged too.

Non-cleaned items were: Desk, bath tap, shower screen, bedroom mirror, bathroom mirror, all windows, kitchen+living room floor and probably more.

Adequately cleaned items: Bathroom sink, kitchen sink, bedroom carpet - but probably not properly.

New dirt was also added in places, I believe by waving the dirty cloths after using them to wipe.

There is no phone number and the company is based in Ireland, which might explain why they weren't able to make sure my London cleaner would work to a professional standard.

For the benefit of the reader; we always endeavour to ensure bookings go off without a hitch and we have stringent measures in place to ensure this. More than ninety five percent of clients and cleaners are happy with the outcomes we provide. From a customers' perspective when things have not worked out, in consultation with cleaners, we have developed the following top tip checklist which you should consider when booking to ensure everything goes well;
1. Book enough time, a cleaner can only do so much cleaning in a fixed period of time. If not enough time is booked your expectations of the results or the time for future bookings should be adjusted accordingly.
2. Provide the appropriate cleaning materials, this one is obvious. The most common issue is expecting your cleaner to be able to clean an oven without a proper oven cleaner, not going to happen.
3. The level of cleaning required and getting into a regular routine might mean, for recurring bookings, a gradual improvement while the first few cleans are carried out. For example a floor which hasn't been cleaned for two months will require far less effort when it's being cleaned every week vs the initial sessions while things are brought up to standard.
4. Your cleaner is working in a new place and your home is therefore a new place of work for this person. Make them feel welcome, if you're working at home get out of their way, and let them carry out the job they're so good at doing, no need to follow around or micro-manage. Providing a checklist can help though.

Booking with Gleam has been easy from…

Booking with Gleam has been easy from start to finish. Firstly my initial query through the website was dealt with swiftly, I spoke with Chloe on the phone who was very helpful and assisted me to make the booking.
In the number of years I have lived in my house I can honestly say the place has never sparkled as much as it did after the cleaning with Ilana. I am delighted with the results and will definitely be using Gleam and Ilana again.

Poor clean, worse customer service

I arranged for a first clean from Gleam a few weeks ago. The clean itself was disappointing (the cleaner called me a number of times unable to find my very easy to find flat, and eventually arrived half an hour late, before doing a pretty subpar job, and leaving early) - that said, we've all had bad work days. But more aggravating was their failure to deal with my pretty simple complaint detailing the above - ie following up by phone and email asking for proof of the poor standard/clean, when all I really wanted was an apology and a partial refund. They have then failed to respond to my follow up email requesting an update for a couple of weeks now. I've found a neighbourhood cleaner who's much better, and easily contactable, and I would shy away from using an agency (especially this one) again.

THREATENED WITH LEGAL ACTION OVER A REVIEW!

Following a negative experience back in October I decided to use my consumer statutory rights to leave a negative review on Trust Pilot to warn my fellow consumers of this awful company. You can other reviews have been left for terrible customer service so I am not an anomaly.

After my negative review on 01.10.24 their customer service finally got back to me over 3 months later to try and 'buy me' by offering me money to take my negative review down! I politely declined stating that the negative review is fair and accurate to the service I received. I also thought that it wouldn't be right by my fellow consumer to accept money to remove a review that can help many others avoid the catastrophe that I am having to endure. At this stage, 71 days later, thought my troubles were over and I would not have to deal with this company anymore.

How I was wrong! Today 21.01.25 some 4 months after receiving a cleaning service from a sub par cleaner I have now been threatened with lawyers. After their failed attempts to buy me off they are now trying to coerce me into retracting my review.

I have images of all the emails they've sent me and would happily upload them for you to see. Please stay away from this company at all costs. Who would have thought that having a dissatisfactory clean has now lead me into a legal battle over accurate comments of their service.

On this occasion the client has been a particularly unhinged character and although we have tried to resolve issues raised by offering compensation etc, the client just sends us multiple random messages ranting and raving with no possibility of resolution in sight. They have now also posted a number of untruths about the chain of events which took place and so we have closed this ticket and forwarded to our legal department to take forward.

Cancelling my series of cleans due to crap customer service

Booked a series of fortnightly 3 hour cleans with Gleam, firstly they were unable to find a cleaner for my first week which I didn't mind but THEN, I booked an additional clean and asked them to send a different cleaner so I could compare. They confirmed they would. The same cleaner turned up
and a telephone number is not easily available to call them to complain.

Maybe they only have 1 cleaner on the books?

Easy to use website

Easy to use website. Booking on the site is super streamlined and only takes a minute unlike some which make you sign up and give them all of your details just to get a price. The prices shown are the final price, there is no membership fee or added extras like Fantastic, Houskeep etc.

Have been using Gleam for a year or so…

Have been using Gleam for a year or so now with a weekly cleaner.
I started with Izabela who was fantastic and always did a great job. She moved house so didn't live so close anymore after about 6 months and the Gleam Team organised everything with a new top rated cleaner.
I now have Tolu who has also been amazing since starting. Always on time with a smile and does a great job every time. I couldn't recommend this site more highly.

Have been with Gleam for a while now…

Have been with Gleam for a while now and I highly recommend them. Obviously with a service like this sometimes there may be issues with cleaner attendance or transport issues etc which cause delays. Gleam customer service have always been extremely helpful to me when things like this take place and in particular Izzy who always goes above and beyond.

Reading some of the negative reviews here, I think it's a shame people slate the company for things which are ultimately beyond their control.

Terrible company

Terrible company. Cancelled my cleaning 12 hours before... can't be trusted to do business with.

We are sorry that after following up with you directly on this matter, we were unable to resolve this to your liking. NB. On this occasion the booked cleaner reported that they were unfortunately unwell and so was unable to attend at the time booked. This client was extremely unlucky here and a manager has been in contact on the day to try to personally rebook the client but unfortunately they have decided to cancel their booking with us. Regarding getting in touch by phone, although we do not have a direct phone line, we do have an instant online chat which can be accessed via your online booking on the website.
For the benefit of the reader; we always endeavour to ensure bookings go off without a hitch and we have stringent measures in place to ensure this. More than ninety five percent of clients and cleaners are happy with the outcomes we provide. From a customers' perspective when things have not worked out, in consultation with cleaners, we have developed the following top tip checklist which you should consider when booking to ensure everything goes well;
1. Book enough time, a cleaner can only do so much cleaning in a fixed period of time. If not enough time is booked your expectations of the results or the time for future bookings should be adjusted accordingly.
2. Provide the appropriate cleaning materials, this one is obvious. The most common issue is expecting your cleaner to be able to clean an oven without a proper oven cleaner, not going to happen.
3. The level of cleaning required and getting into a regular routine might mean, for recurring bookings, a gradual improvement while the first few cleans are carried out. For example a floor which hasn't been cleaned for two months will require far less effort when it's being cleaned every week vs the initial sessions while things are brought up to standard.
4. Your cleaner is working in a new place and your home is therefore a new place of work for this person. Make them feel welcome, if you're working at home get out of their way, and let them carry out the job they're so good at doing, no need to follow around or micro-manage. Providing a checklist can help though.

First booking and no one has turned up - there has been no confirmation email in advance and no text/email to say anyone is running late / even coming! What a botch job

Making matters worse they have no phone contact number to try and get hold of anyone
