Horrible Service
In April 2025, I submitted a life event to add my newborn daughter to our health insurance. During this process, a plan change occurred from a $1,500 deductible plan to a $2,500 deductible plan effective 5/1/25.
No guidance or advice (despite specifically reaching out to them) was provided that changing plans mid-year would reset my deductible to $0, erasing all progress made from January-April 2025. This is fundamental benefits administration knowledge that any competent advisor should have communicated proactively.
When I discovered this issue in December, Benefits Specialist Franklin Acosta-Munoz failed to provide:
Documentation of my original 2025 plan selection for comparison
Clear explanation of what triggered the plan change
Any record showing I was advised of the deductible reset consequence
Financial impact: Based on the reset of the deductible my total additional out-of-pocket costs exceed $3,000 due to inadequate guidance during the enrollment process.
A professional benefits administrator's role is to advise and protect clients from making costly mistakes. G&A failed in this basic duty.
If you're considering making the switch, I would strongly advise against it.
