Horrible experience
Horrible experience. I ordered 3 dresses, which were falsely advertised. I requested their return. Dirt-cheap-looking polyester, not a cotton-linen blend. I spent $152 to get them here and $35 to send them back to China; the advertising said "New York". I sent the tracking info and received a DHL confirmation that they had arrived at the destination. They deny ever receiving my return. Scam personified, do not fall for it. I'm out $187.00. I've been hassling with this company since October of 2025.
This site is a scam
This site is a scam. Shame on me. There never was a New York City store owned by a mod-perfect ‘beautiful’ couple. There are no actual real reviews - just a fabricated average review online that has no links to actual commentary/individuals specific ratings. There is no ‘full’ refund as advertised.
The $140 dress and 2 summer tops clothing was nothing like the photos (linen). Thin cheap polyester and cotton fabrics with poor printed designs. Horrible really. Not wearable. I contacted Grace & Jax multiple times for the promised refund at the ‘help’ email to cancel and return the order, but of course this is a scam and the money was lost. What they offer is that 1) the customer pay to ship the clothes back to China, and they give full refund if ever received in the long return by ship - but that there are ‘no refund guarantee as items are frequently lost in Chinese shipping and transportation”. And, if you demand a return ‘China’ address it will actually never be provided. Second option: I keep the clothes and they give 25% refund, and on third calls a 30% refund.
After no response to the online commitments from G&J through email, I contacted my CC company, gave them the details, but they refused a refund because I had placed order and merchandise was physically shipped.
Do NOT fall for Grace & Jax.
They fooled me.
They fooled me.
I should have checked reviews BEFORE placing my order! As soon as I clicked to submit it, I realized it might be a scam, and I contacted Grace and Jax right away to cancel the order, but of course they would not, even though their site says you can contact them within 15 minutes and cancel. I went ahead and contacted my credit card company, who started a dispute.
Once I received the items, I contacted J&G multiple times, in writing, detailing how each item was different from what they represented on their site. All they would offer was 1) I pay to ship the clothes back to China, and they give full refund; 2) I keep the clothes and they give 60% refund; 3) I keep the clothes and they give me a discount on buying more clothes from them; etc. They were always so polite and never admitted wrongdoing.
After going back and forth with G&J through email for a couple of weeks, I contacted my CC company again and gave them the details, and they refunded my money. So it worked out for me in the end, but I never should have fallen for this obvious scam.
TOTAL SCAM TOTAL RIPOFF
TOTAL SCAM! TOTAL RIPOFF!
The dress I bought for $59 arrived looking nothing like the advertisement. It probably cost $2 to make. Seriously. Everything they said was false. They make it look like they are an American company out of NYC.
Buyer Beware
Buyer Beware! I ordered two dresses and a shirt. Great prices, beautiful photos, special sale and made of a cotton linen blend. When they arrived, they did not look like the photos on the website and their labels say 95% polyester and 5% spandex. In looking into it, I found that I had been double charged for each of my two orders. Now, I am attempting to return the items to them. First, they asked for a photo of the items to make sure they were in good shape. After I did that, they offered me a 10% refund, a new order free with a handling fee of $11.50 or I could send them back to China at my expense, which they said would be expensive. They never offered to give me a full refund even if I sent the items to China at my expense and they did not give me an address to return them to. I have now disputed these charges with my credit card company and they have opened an investigation.
Terrible clothing
Yes, I fell for the scam. The beautiful cotton clothes advertised were in fact cheap polyester knock-offs. Poor quality fabric, poor sewing, muted colors. Terrible. I told myself never again the first time I fell for a clothing scam purchase, but I did it again. Please don't buy from this company or any clothing company that advertises on line.
Polyester is not cotton
Nov. 1, 2025 I also fell for a Facebook ad when they had a “sale” advertising their 100% cotton dresses that normally go for $219.00 on sale for 59.99. Going out of business supposedly. The dress arrived from China. 100% polyester, very cheaply made. I tried to initiate a return and was told it would cost me more than the dress to send it back to China. Then they offered a 20% refund and I get to keep the dress which I would never wear. What a joke! Do not fall for Grace and Jax or any of the other name variations. It will be a great disappointment.
BEWARE!!
BEWARE!!! Do not buy here it is a scam. They say you can return but it’s a lie. The cloths are not as they appear on the site. Cheaply made and ugly. They haggle with me about returning my money and basically refuse. No wonder they’re going g out of business. Do not fall into buying from their close out sale!!!!
Definitely a scam
Definitely a scam! . Looks like great stuff from New York made of cotton and linen. Cute story American designers going out if business, etc. I fell for it too. Clothes are cheap polyester and return address is CHINA! Can't trust these people. They must have ripped off designs that are fun and quality fabric in the photos and printed on crappy polyester. Don't do it!
I too fell for this bait-and-switch…
I too fell for this bait-and-switch company and wish I'd thought to research it a little before pulling the trigger. My dress arrived too late for the occasion (I'd left plenty of time) but was so huge I couldn't have worn it anyway. It was cheaply made, polyester, and of course I too am having trouble reconciling the cost of shipping it back to China (!) with just taking the loss and the measly 20% refund (I know, better than 10%)that I have no confidence they will actually be good for. Lesson learned: IGNORE tasty-looking offers on facebook.
Grace and Jax is definitely a scam
this company (Grace and Jax) is definitely a scam. I have read all the reviews of others who believed in the legitimacy of this company. It's gives me comfort to know I'm not the only one to be conned by their glowing story of going out of business and their show of lovely high-end clothing being sold for a incredibly low prices. I called my bank, too late (they deposited my money). Now I wait to get cheap clothing and make a merchant dispute (15 days from when I purchased). I also discontinued that credit card. I will inform Facebook too.
The materials are cheap and feel awful.
The materials are cheap and feel awful.
One side of the V-neck is longer than the other.
I am sending 3 dresses to Salvation Army.
SCAM ALERT. Do not buy from Grace and Jax
This company is a scam. Do not buy from them. The clothes they advertise bear no resemblance to what they send you. Cheap polyester crap. You would not want to be caught dead in their clothes. And if you want to return it - they basically make it impossible. They want you to pay the cost of shipping it back to China. Oh, and of course, the packaging the sent the clothes to you in cannot be opened at all or they won't accept a return. How could you look at the clothes unless you open their packaging? SCAM Alert!!!
This was a full on scam and robbery
This was a full on scam and robbery. The product was said to be cotton and linen, but was polyester and spandex. They sent and charged me for 2 of the same item.
Scam
I ordered a dress from Grace & Jax which said it was a cotton/linen blend. When it arrived it was 100% polyesther! They asked for a photo of the delivered dress (which I did send) and replied that they sent the correct dress. I hear they are going out of business. Perhaps poor customer service might be one of the reasons.
Terrible
Terrible. The clothes did not fit well and were different than the representative photos. They make it seem as though they're shipping from the US but they actually come from China. They say you can return but then inform you it is from China so are expensive to return. Then they offer a pathetic refund of 10%—and you can keep the clothes—not that you'd ever wear them. They have very polite customer service and you think it will all be ok, but it is not.
This company falsely advertised a dress…
This company falsely advertised a dress made of cotton and linen. When I receive the dress it was 100% polyester and the design was cheaply printed on the polyester. The dress was not the quality nor what it was represented to be on the website. I asked for a refund and to return the dress. They replied by saying sorry you're not satisfied we can offer you 10% off and you can keep the dress or you have to send it to China and it is very expensive. This company falsely advertised and it does not take responsibility..
This is a scam
This is a scam. Be ware of this website. They send you items with extremely poor quality. When you ask for a return they tell you that you have to pay for shipment to China.
Not remotely close to what was listed...
I ordered several sweaters that were listed as "Premium Quality – Made from 100% top-grade cashmere 100% cashmere." They ended up being cheap polyester, poorly made with exposed seams, hanging threads and no labels--nothing listing the seller or the material or anything. They were also shipped from China, not from a NYC boutique like the seller claim to be.
Apparently I have to ship them to China for a refund. Will it even make it back to them and will they even say it did?
Scammers: Cheap quality merchandise Returns terrible
All you have to do is compare GraceandJax.com with HenryRoseNewYork.com and they have the same exact story with virtually the same cheap products that will probably fall apart in less than a year. Neither site states what fabrics they use; the things I ordered were the cheapest polyester with inferior sewing and I received two wrong items and have yet to receive a refund for them nor my entire purchase. Their so-called discounts are more than one should pay full price for these inferior products and good luck trying to return things! They both have going out of business sob stories on Facebook and state that they've been in business for 21 years (more like 2 months). Scammers through and through!
