Worst insurance company, when you claim they will ignore you
Booked cruise cover with GreatCover and I'm regretting it very much now. We had to make a claim due to an issue on the cruise and I spoke to an advisor who was very helpful, unfortunately that's where the nice part ends.
He sent me a form to fill, which I completed promptly and sent back. I provided all the requested documents, so I was surprised to get a reply back asking for the documents that I had already supplied them with. I responded to that email, by again provided the documents that were requested and I have heard nothing since. I have been politely chasing them for an update and they are completely ignoring me, it has been 3 months now and my claim has been completely ignored.
I recommend everyone to avoid GreatCover. As soon as have a claim against them they will completely ignore you and leave you in the dark. Imagine you've had a problem while abroad, an expensive medical bill, expensive flights, do you want a company that will leave you in the dark and screw you over? Because that's exactly what GreatCover does. I'm extremely disappointed by this service, they've been nothing but terrible and I regret ever taking this policy out with them and I strongly advise everyone to NEVER take insurance with them.
If this is not satisfied within a week I will be referring the financial ombudsmen.

Easy to purchase however god help you if you need to claim anything.
They don’t handle claims themselves you need to go to Gallagher Basset, clearly they have 2 companies so that you do not see the 1.4 stars on GB’s trustpilot.
Cancelled our holiday due to son getting chickenpox 2 days before flying which meant we legally cannot fly. Doctor confirmed it and we submitted our claim the same day 30/08/26. 30 days on and they’re still reviewing our information which is basic considering all they have is our details, reason for cancelling and proof of cancellation.
Not one single update, you cannot call and speak to anyone who handles claims. This should be the simplest process considering the reasoning but nothing.
Stay well clear, there are cheaper more reliable options.
