Booked through Little Breaks a suite at the Crabwall Manor Chester. The staff were excellent (are they employees of a sub-contracted company called Legacy Hotels?), the food was OK, but the room was in dire need of refurbishment with stained and smelly carpets in the stairs leading to the room, and a rather damp bed. My impression was that Little Breaks maybe do not check all parts of the hotels they recommend.

GLB come up with some very good deals…
GLB come up with some very good deals for breaks, most result in a bit of a saving providing you actually want to do the activity that is offered. Outside GLB control I assume is the room quality allocated by the hotel you get within the clarification described - we have had a few dissapointments within the many GLB breaks done. But of course you can't see the other rooms!! Booking process is easy and GLB staff always seem helpful and email confirmations are fast. Couple of times the tickets received for an event have been not as described on event website, flexibility is usually the issue.

No solo holidays
My wife and I went on three holidays with GLB which we enjoyed. Unfortunately she has now died and when I tried to book a solo holiday for myself I was told that my booking could not be accepted.

The courtyard rooms are quirky &…
The courtyard rooms are quirky & interesting. Having said that the only problem in our room was that both of us had to get out of bed at the same side !
Quite fun for a two night stay but it would be difficult for any longer.
The dining room is lovely in the cellars , the food was delicious & the service very good & friendly.

2nd stay at Sketchley Grange Hotel and…
2nd stay at Sketchley Grange Hotel and was just as lovely. Food, room and most of all staff. The deal was the same deal as we had in July although this time not 2 courses as stated in our booking but only £20.00 towards our meal. Unfortunately Great Little Breaks still shows the deal as 2 courses for £22.00. It wouldn't deter us booking again as we love the Little Breaks especially the choices of hotels & Extras. It's just unfortunate the hotel has changed the rules.
