$920 for an uncompleted review.
Have recently paid $920 for a 15 minute consult regarding a fitness to drive evaluation for the NSW RMS, passed the evaluation with no dramas, but the psychologist hasn't completed the actual form with the rms and is asking for more money to complete the form. Wouldn't recommend, as a professional they should know the guidelines involved and not be so money hungry when a person's livelihood is at stake.

My psychiatrist has been such a big help in managing my mental health. She really listened to me and worked with me to create a care plan that fits my life. I’m grateful for the support and guidance she’s given me.

So regretful I ever putting my trust in this company to support, nevermind the hundreds and hundreds of dollars I’ve spent to access nothing short of a nightmare! This company is completely exploiting their patients and couldn’t be any more unsupportive and rude. Horrendous. Don’t know how they are getting away with it!

I had a great experience with the HelloDoc staff. Their prompt response and clear communication made me feel truly valued and supported. Overall, it was a very positive experience with the HelloDoc professionals. I would highly recommend them.
Scumbags
Scumbags! Health service my ass. Money grubbing lowlifes. And fancy withholding care until a poor review is removed. You should be ashamed of yourselves. If that guy hurts himself you should all go to hell.
Over $900 an appointment
No bulk billing. OVER $900 for an appointment and only one mental health condition is considered. Even in a general assessment. "Well there is an issue but it's not ___" (one specific cobdition). You'll need many appointments. Just rubbish. The worst service I've ever encountered.
HelloDoc A Heartless Money Grab
HelloDoc - Heartless Money Grab
Don’t waste your time, energy, or hard-earned money on HelloDoc. Their staggering lack of empathy and professionalism makes it clear they care more about profits than actually helping people.
After charging an absurd amount for a rushed, dismissive process, they disregarded critical information and made sweeping judgments based on laughably inadequate assessments. If you’re looking for real psychiatric support, run in the opposite direction. HelloDoc is nothing more than an overpriced, soulless scam masquerading as healthcare.
Very poor
Very poor, money grabbing service. Wanted to charge $750 for an inital appointment just to renew a prescription for a previously diagnosed condition. Taking advantage of the system
TOTAL SCAM This is not a legitimate…
TOTAL SCAM This is not a legitimate organisation. It’s absolutely disgusting that they scam people who are either very sick themselves or, in my case, have a very sick child. There is no real service - the so-called psychiatrist on Zoom was walking around her loungeroom and was unable to connect with my daughter AT ALL in a $910 1 hour session (fully paid in advance) - presumably bc she wasn’t actually a qualified psychiatrist. I was told I’d get a Medicare rebate of over. $400 - over a month later and lots of emails and phone calls later, I have been paid $0 rebate. They have already taken a $200 deposit for the next appointment from my bank and refused to refund that when I rang to cancel that appointment (still a week away and well before their 2-day non refundable period). So I am out $1110 and the same male Indian “receptionist” who has answered the phone every single time I’ve rung in the last month has failed to organise any Medicare rebate at all (supposedly organised by him following the appointment and appearing in my bank account within 3-5 days - nope - $0) or to let me speak with, email, or contact in any way, anyone else but him. We did not get a follow-up phone call or any information at all from the so-called “psychiatrist” following my daughter’s appointment. I will be reporting them to Consumer Affairs, police, and the Vic Ombudsman. BEWARE ☠️
This practice is extremely predatory
This practice is extremely predatory. For a service that ostensibly exists to support those with serious mental health issues or conditions, the up-front cost PRIOR to a referral required for the appointment to initiate is just exploitative. The fees are extremely high (first session was $6000 an hour) and, for some reason, referrals expire (stated reason was "to make medicare payments go through properly").
It's a business that creates administrative barriers and penalties for the people least likely to effectively manage those requirements. It's honestly disgusting. Do not interact.
NOPE!!! nope nope nope
SCAM. I got an appt at 1 weeks notice, surprised but just too relieved to get suspicious. Foreign guy urged me to send $200 immediately to secure the spot, stayed on the phone while I bank transferred it to their BSB/ACC). Their bodgy email didn't read like any normal thing from a medical place... then I read the reviews. 5+4 stars are glowing AI rubbish, the 1 stars are livid. Rang my bank, they were great - fingers crossed I get the $200 back. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the other HUMAN reviews
Efficient Process
HelloDoc’s process is seamless and efficient. Booking appointments, receiving electronic prescriptions, and scheduling follow-ups are all handled with ease. The team is highly professional and attentive, making sure all your needs are met. This hassle-free approach to mental health care is exactly what I needed.
Rude and unprofessional admin
I was referred to a Telehealth psych as I wanted a woman psych. I received a phone call from an admin person who was very difficult to understand from the get go. They spoke so fast and with an accent that made it hard to understand (add processing issues onto it and it’s a nightmare for ADHD people).
They quickly went through pricing and Medicare rebates, then asked for my credit card details. I told them I needed information via email before I paid so asked them to send me an invoice. The man told me they’d send an invoice AFTER I paid, so I explained I will not be giving my credit card details to a stranger over the phone.
He then got annoyed with me and said I had consented to this referral from my doctor, which I agreed, but I went on to explain that he, a stranger, had just called me asking for my credit card details and I had no idea who this company even was.
When I asked for information to be emailed to me, he told me I needed to email them to consent to receive an email. It then took six or seven attempts at him saying the email address for me to understand what he was trying to pronounce. I had to ask him to spell the words as it sounded like the company was called Heller Doc, so after he finally spelled the word “hello” was it then that I knew what the name was.
I drafted and sent an email asking for an invoice or quote with: provider number, item numbers, cost breakdowns etc, and they didn’t reply back to me.
My husband then sent me a link to all the reviews and I was utterly relieved I didn’t go ahead! They sound like an absolutely nightmare to deal with, and by the way this person spoke to me, it is clear they prey on desperate people who are looking for psych support. Shameful and underhanded business model.
Evil company
Evil company. Will steal your money and not provide service. Worst experience I have ever had.
Compassionate Care Received at HelloDoc
The care I received at HelloDoc was outstanding. From the very beginning, the staff and psychiatrists listened to my concerns with empathy and professionalism. Every interaction made me feel like a priority. They provided me with clear guidance and support at every stage. It’s a service I highly recommend to others.
I requested an appointment with a psychiatrist
I requested an appointment with a specific female specialist, sent two emails (the first was never responded to) and had the referral letter written for this specific medical professional. I was under the impression that my appointment ($700+) was made with this specific medical professional and discovered 24 hours prior to my appointment that I had been assigned a different doctor. I called Hello Doc to try and reschedule the appointment but was unable to get through so left a voicemail. Rang again several hours later only to be told that it was too late, I would need to see the assigned doctor. Incredibly unprofessional, poor customer service with no empathy or understanding.
HelloDoc review
My experience with HelloDoc had been great. I have had Dr Sadaf Rashid as my psychiatrist. She was excellent and staff has been amazing. I must say that there are mostly reviews for psychiatrist Dr Zaman Afridi and his actions should not be considered as a general outlook of how HelloDoc is. I asked admin staff if they were going to schedule my appointment with Dr Afridi and they said he was not with them anymore. Might have been fired due to so many complaints. Most negative reviews are about him.
Back to my original post.I feel obliged to write positive review about HelloDoc and Dr Rashid who have been excellent. My friend went through Dr Khan and had same good experience too
Avoid. Waste of Money. Back at square one.
I had read so many reviews online that were negative and I was like 'surely that is just their bad experience and overall it is good'… well that was an expensive mistake. I recieved an appointment very quickly with Dr Afridi but like many before me, he showed up to the appointment without even reading my intake form and so we spent some time going through that. I also just didn't like the session and found he wasn't asking the right questions and could see I was getting frustrated. He then said I would need a second session (which I expected). I booked, they took my deposit and then they cancelled it. When I rang to see what was going on, they said Dr Afridi had left HelloDoc so I would need to see another doctor. At the risk of having to go through it all again and waste more money I have opted to go to a practitioner which has a 2 month waiting list. Very expensive mistake when I had the information that it was going to be terrible too.
Taking advantage of people’s fragility and profiting from it
I just needed an appt for a really sensitive difficult diagnosis. The process was confusing, the admin team were unhelpful, slow to respond, unfeeling, no care. They got my details all wrong and when I questioned it I was told too bad that’s what you agreed to, we have the recording which made no sense.
The fees are exorbitant, they record all your calls and quote them back to you twisted or incorrect and it’s not like you have a recording to refer to. Also people are in a stressed state calling up and spoken to in such a cold manner, it would not surprise me if they panicked and assumed the team would do right by them or explain well. They send threatening emails, they argue their POV instead of caring about the customer and listening with a view to resolving. I was threatened and given the choice to cancel but we have your money, and we are still keeping your money. It was extremely distressing, ridiculously expensive with very little rebate. I felt like a walking wallet. You come away feeling you have been taken advantage of. It’s an awful feeling
However, I will say when I finally got thru all the, quite frankly, physcological warfare that was trying to make an appt, the doctor was VERY good. What a shame they are so misrepresented by their admin team.
I would recommend they get some training on how to handle patients with dignity, care, empathy. I suggest they train their team
to clearly read the referral letters and ask questions when unsure and discuss with the patient before booking and clearly explain fees. Try putting yourself in their shoes … this is a highly sensitive situation and highly stressful. Have some empathy. How would you like to be treated?
Also there should be kinder emails with clearer explanations or time taken for each patient … you are charging $900 after all.
I’ve never been so shocked and disgusted by a mental health clinic. Shame on you. Do better
I had an extremely negative experience…
I had an extremely negative experience with HelloDoc. After my diagnosis, I tried to get them to pass on a message to Dr Afridi, and they would only do so after I got a letter from my doctor. I went to my doctor, had to get him to write me a letter, which was a waste of his and my time.
In the end, HelloDoc still refused to pass on my message and forced me to pay $700 for a single session that consisted solely of administrative tasks.
Once I was in the session, I paid for just to pass on this message, he said he had not received the email from my Doctor from hellodoc.
Dr Afridi Ignored my request to avoid a medication, and prescribed me anyway for 30 days. I believe it was to generate another session.
Once i had bad reaction, surprise, he wanted another session booked even though he said otherwise.
He said it wasn't legal for me to get the medication without a session. Which is fair enough. But he lied to me about being able to do it without a session to get me to agree unknowingly to another.
I spoke to him about the issues with HelloDoc and he said he could change my script if this medication didn't work out.
I refused to book another session with this company or with Dr Afridi on principle.
I now have to start the diagnosis again with someone else, as I couldn't bring myself to be swindled of one more dollar from this toxic company. I'm happy I refused to let them take me for a ride anymore than they have already
I know three other people who have used HelloDoc and all have had negative experiences. This is a company that creates sessions for profit without regards to the needs of its customers. I urge you to stay away from HelloDoc and Dr Afridi.
As you can see from previous review, they also had same doctor with negative experience, I have seen his name on googles reviews too so make sure you check that out too.
If you feel like being fleeced of $3000 to get a diagnosis I recommend them, and no support afterwards. They just want your money. They don't seem to care about treatment.
I never review companies, but this one is so horrible I feel compelled to review and try stop others caught in this toxic companies web.
