Santam may be regarded as a leading insurance company according to Ombudsman reports and industry surveys, however my views are based solely on my own personal experience and do not represent the experiences of others.

Personally, I would never recommend Santam or trust this company with my assets again. I had a full comprehensive policy with zero excess, yet when my parked vehicle was scratched by another person on the road, what should have been a straightforward claim became an exhausting and frustrating process.

In my experience, the claim was delayed unnecessarily due to Santam’s attitude and apparent disagreements with their own panel shop. Throughout the process, I felt as though the matter was constantly avoided instead of properly resolved. Rather than feeling protected under Santam’s insurance cover, I was left feeling completely unsupported when I needed assistance the most.

What made the experience even worse is that this claim was never settled. After more than a month, I received an email from a Santam manager advising me that the claim had been closed. During this entire period, my insurance premiums continued to be deducted as normal.

After continuous follow-ups and escalations with no meaningful resolution in sight, I eventually decided to cancel my policy, which included two insured vehicles.

Insurance should provide peace of mind and support during difficult situations, but unfortunately my experience with Santam was the complete opposite.

HelloPeter stopped caring - its only about the money

When HelloPeter was started by Peter Cheales, he really meant well. But they have stopped caring about client accountability or transparency in business because now it is only about the money. I wrote a review about a moving company, Legends Removals, and they first removed my review after falsely accusing me of transgressing their Code. After my evidence to the contrary they put it back, only to remove it again, totally ignoring the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act. They are arrogant and stopped caring about public concerns that they claim to promote. It was important to me to warn the public about Legends' being unproffessional and their staff stealing from me.

Called them in January to repair my 65inch tv, he came fount the fault on my tv that was supposed to be a simple light repair, after the repairs Calvin the technician that was doing the repair started re-assembly my tv, afterwards he cracked the LCD display, i told him to take the tv with him to repair it by him, after a while of trying discussing how we will proceed with repairs and what other plans we can make, now it the end of April and now he is ignoring me for a hole month now, be careful of this guy he doesn't take responsibility for his faults

Courier guy is the worst
I am extremely disappointed with the negligent handling of my parcel by Courier Guy. The package was clearly mishandled during transit, and as a result, the item inside the box arrived damaged. It is unacceptable that a parcel entrusted to a courier service can be treated with such little care.

Customers rely on courier companies to transport goods safely and professionally, but this experience showed a serious lack of responsibility and proper handling procedures. The box itself showed signs of rough treatment, which clearly caused the damage to the contents.

I expected far better service and accountability. I would not recommend Courier Guy based on this experience, and I hope they improve their handling standards to prevent other customers from facing the same frustration and financial loss

I purchased a 9Kva Gentech Generator…

I purchased a 9Kva Gentech Generator online from Makro, paid for it, and then only the next day received a message saying the product was out of stock.

Let that sink in:
The product was advertised. The payment was taken. Then the stock suddenly did not exist.

Under South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, this raises a serious consumer rights concern. The Act prohibits bait marketing and also protects consumers against false, misleading or deceptive representations about goods or services. In plain language, a supplier should not market a product as available, accept payment, and only afterwards say it is unavailable, especially if stock limitations were not clearly disclosed upfront.

This is not only frustrating. It destroys trust in online retail.

Consumers budget carefully, compare prices, make purchasing decisions, and transfer money in good faith. To then be told, after payment, that the item is out of stock is simply unacceptable.

Based on this experience, I will never buy from Makro again.

And I believe other consumers should be very careful when buying online. If a retailer can advertise a product, take your money, and then later say it is out of stock, that is a serious problem that deserves public attention.

Consumers deserve:
accurate stock information, honest advertising, transparent communication, and immediate refunds where orders cannot be fulfilled. The National Consumer Commission exists under the CPA framework to deal with consumer protection issues of this kind.

Mr Price ACS should train their agents very well on how to handle their calls, those are the most unprofessional beings harassing us just for payment arrangements. There's an agent who swore at me literally saying 'futsek" because I got annoyed by them calling non-stop. I then spoke to ARESA one of the agents who called me after getting that sh**ty call, I logged my complaint and requested to speak to their TL, ever since from then I haven't received any call, no assistance or whatsoever!!!

Hellopeter not there for the customer

If placing your experience your had with a company and even the way HelloPeter play the GOD factor over a person get handled like a small child. Who does these people think they are and why come up for the crooked companies? That say a lot of what they are really there for? Make a person wonder if all reviews is not just made up(the good ones)? Rather get a platform that is there for the customer. Think twice before using HELLOPETER. They want the reviews they want and if not a person get blocked or removed. This is not how a review site must work. They are biased! NOT NEUTRAL!

Tried to speak to agent we get placed in a queue with no further response. Tried calling, no response just a waste of time.

I’ve received nothing but bad service…

I’ve received nothing but bad service from MTNza this network is refusing to close my contacts after its duration has finished. Instead I’m being placed on another contract without my knowledge when i have previously communicated with them that I have no wishes of continuing with their poor service. When I call the phone contract department no longer picks up my calls instead I’m placed on hold for hours until they hung up on me. Guys don’t ever take a contract with MTN or you will regret it like me.

After writing a review about my experience with a product I purchased on Takealot, my review was blatantly rejected. The item I received looked similar to the one advertised, but it lacked the branding shown in the product images, and it did not include the branded pouch that was advertised as part of the purchase. This raises serious concerns about the validity and authenticity of the product supplied.
It appears that when a customer shares a negative experience, Takealot simply rejects the review. Their response indicated that I was “informing them of an inaccuracy,” yet as a customer, it is not my responsibility to point out incorrect or misleading product listings. It is Takealot’s responsibility to perform proper quality checks and ensure that customers receive exactly what they paid for.
Instead of addressing the issue, they told me to return the item and dismissed my review altogether — which feels like an attempt to silence honest and legitimate customer feedback.

Hi this is Mazwi Dubazana, I have recently purchaded avehicle from Parkview Auto Vereeneging and thier service was extremelly amazing.I have enquired on the 20th of Jan2026 after I so a vehicle advertised on google and they called me then the following day I seny my documents to apply for car finance, the same day my application was proccesed and approved, on the 22nd we spoke and they sent their driver , came and picked me up from in Germiston to their dealership in Vereeneging for me to view and test drive the vehicle ,I loved and purchased it and I am so happy with my Citroen C3 which is still new about 28000 km on the clock

Very disappointing customer service at…

Very disappointing customer service at Makro Ottery. The cashier was busy chatting to the packer and completely ignored my wife. When it came to payment, an error was made, likely due to a lack of attention. A supervisor promised to follow up with an email, but hours later we’ve received nothing and can’t get through to anyone. Overall, very unprofessional and not the level of service expected.

Hello Peter's customers are Companies, not Consumers

Companies need to pay between R699 and R4,459 per month to manage and respond to their reviews on Hello Peter.

One needs to ask where Hello Peter's loyalty truly lies: with consumers or with paying companies? Companies that don't pay are potential customers and will only be able to respond to reviews once they begin paying Hello Peter.

I have trusted Hello Peter for many years, but I have faced some disappointments along the way. While it’s reasonable to trust reviews on Hello Peter, keep in mind that they often reject reviews that include terms like scam, fake, or crooks, as well as other expressions that directly accuse companies of wrongdoing. They require softer language, such as "dishonest" or "unsatisfactory," which does not effectively highlight a straightforward fake online seller.

I'm sure the majority of companies and their reviews on Hello Peter are legitimate and valuable to consumers. However, the few dishonest companies and Hello Peter's rejection of reviews pointing out scams completely undermine the purpose of using their site to determine whether you should trust a company. Dishonest companies can pay for positive reviews and respond to negative ones with vague comments, but only if they subscribe to Hello Peter.

True north Debt solutions

True north Debt solutions, please watch out for this company making random calls to individuals promising them to negotiate their interests rate with banks. They scammed me into this only to realize latet that they put you under debt review. They are not transparent at all they mislead me into this agreement. They said I can pay them R6000 to get off this nuisance agreement with them only to learn later that only the court can clear me. Even my credit bereau record shows no sign of indebtedness or failure to manage my finances. I had to find a law firm and pay R9k for clearance which is also a lengthy period to get the complete clearance. Such a scam. Their manager Renier Mark Bernardo could not offer any help other than making me pay R6k for no service provided.

Watch out they will scam you

Mancosa is a disgrace institution

on the 13 Nov 2025, 15:17 i send an email to mancosa regarding my experience about the institution and how unfair they are and it read as follows.......I am writing this with a heavy heart, and to say that I am disappointed in MANCOSA would be an understatement. It has become painfully clear that this institution operates more like a money-making scheme than a place of learning. The lack of proper student support and service is deeply disheartening, especially from a college that claims to care about student success.

MANCOSA’s marking procedure is appalling, degrading, and utterly disgraceful. In my FA1, I failed one assignment but passed the other three — which made no sense to me, as I approached all my assignments with the same level of effort, understanding, and methodology. Now, in my FA2, I received a mark of 39 out of 100, which is equally confusing, even after it was sent for moderation.

From the very beginning of my registration, I have faced numerous issues with the institution. I was warned by other students about MANCOSA’s poor service and lack of academic fairness, but I chose to give the institution a chance, hoping my experience would be different. Unfortunately, I now deeply regret that decision. I have already expressed my frustration and disappointment to my student advisor, but I feel compelled to put my dissatisfaction on record.

Given my experience, I have decided to complete my first semester only. I therefore request a full refund for the fees paid toward my second semester.
i recieved a ticket number 290747460857 it was then assigned and resolved without resolving anything and im still waiting a response from them till today.
