Having had a recommendation by a previous damp specialist to completely gut the downstairs of our listed property, we got cold feet and contacted John and Alison. Thank goodness we did! They were professional and friendly from the first email. They carefully went through their findings with me, explaining what they were doing. Their thorough report was provided within a few days of visiting our house, providing recommendations for improvements. I really felt I could trust them with our 'forever' home. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

We were really happy we contacted John to do a consultation on our victorian stone semi-detached in Perthshire. Based on that very positive experience, we didn’t hesitate to ask Alison and John to carry out a full survey on the house we were looking to purchase in June 2025. Once again, their service was excellent. The report was detailed, clear, and ultimately very reassuring as we moved forward with the purchase.

We completed on the house in October and have since been working through the recommendations in the report. What has really stood out is how accurate and reliable their findings were—there have been no surprises during renovations. In particular, their assessment of the extent of damp was impressively precise; once we removed plaster, it matched exactly what they had indicated. Following their straightforward advice, we’ve now fully resolved the issue.

John and Alison did a heritage survey for us on a grade 2 listed 15th century cottage. They very approachable, and open to questions and queries I had. They conducted the survey, and prepared the report within a timely fashion, and the report produced was to a thorough standard, with ample detail but clearly written and understandable. They gave me peace of mind with the information provided and helped me with decisions on the property purchase.

We are a charity owning seventeenth century almshouses in Herefordshire. John and Alison visited our buildings and talked us through all that they found as they went round; we asked for an informal condition survey and what they gave us was informative and comprehensive with written notes for us to draw on in the future. We had a building survey done in Worcester on an old Georgian town house. The survey was very thorough and having previously made some missteps regarding tradespeople using inappropriate materials for the building we now have much more confidence and a clear priority order in terms of fixing the various issues identified. They spotted a damp area under our bathroom, which helped us find out we had a long-going leak and a very soggy joist which we had to replace.

We engaged the services of John and Alison to complete a building condition survey on a church which the community were looking at taking ownership of.
