I booked and paid for a car in Hertz Dubai, the location of Dubai Marina. When I went to pick-up the car the guy checked my driver’s licence and pulled out a list and immediately told me that my country is not in the list of countries that UAE recognizes DL’s. They canceled my booking and told me to wait for 30 days until full return of money and this is almost 3 months and never got my money back. I wrote to Hertz in Dubai and copied Hertz global and Hertz global is silent whilst Hertz Dubai keeps lying they have transfered the refund to my acccount but are not able to provide nk evidence and my Bank has never received the money back.

After choosing Hertz at Lviv airport in March this year specifically to avoid any problems which might occur with smaller, less known companies, I regretted this decision badly. I have been provided with a vehicle with over 100k miles on the clock. Had serious issues with brakes during the rental period. Company representative refused to swap vehicle as apparently I was too far from their location. Upon the return of the vehicle, I complained and asked for the refund as the car was not roadworthy. Nothing happened since. Avoid this company by all means.
