Piacevole soggiorno, personale accogliente e professionale, posizione ottima. Colazione varia e di buona qualità. Camera spaziosa (ho molto gradito il balcone con affaccio interno, molto silenzioso), bella illuminazione, letto comodo con materasso da 10 e lode, bagno ampio, con doccia doppia, un’unica pecca: manca un piano d’appoggio intorno al lavandino, nonostante lo spazio lo consenta. Ci rivedremo! Grazie

They present themselves as the official website of the hotel you want to book, so at first glance it looks like you’re getting the hotel’s original price. In reality, the final amount is inflated with extra taxes and service fees.

In my case, I was trying to book a room at NH Hotel to visit Padova in Italy. I thought I was reserving directly through their website. Later I discovered that NH Hotel had been sold to SavHotel. When I searched for “NH Hotel Padova,” the first Google result was hotelcheckins.com, which displayed a page written as if it belonged to NH Hotel Padova.

Only at the bottom of the page do they mention that they are not affiliated with the hotel, so technically they protect themselves legally. But at first glance, it really looks like you’re booking directly with the hotel—especially since they appear at the top of Google search results.

I ended up paying 192 euros for two nights instead of the 150 euros I would have paid by booking directly through the SavHotel website. That’s almost 40 euros more for the same stay.
