I booked in a session just to have some advice about PSI rules as the rest of my return was complete. They had no idea how to even start to answer that question and responded with "they only know how to use their system"....e.g. click next, next, finish.
If they knew how tax works the tools being used shouldn't matter.....but they obviously didn't know.
The supervisor also had no idea about PSI rules and couldn't help me. I would avoid them unless you have a very basic tax return (e.g. teenagers)

Minus 1 million if I could. MITTAGONG office was appalling, did not lodge my tax return, after told it was , rude people , could not explain why they did not lodge . The whole process has been incompetent and sub standard. Disgusting , avoid like COVID!

I booked in with H&R Block for an online tax return and was referred to an overseas representative who barely responded — it took all day to get a reply each time. I couldn’t even upload my documents properly, constant errors, and after a week of total frustration, I got absolutely nowhere.

I then decided to book an appointment with the local Gympie branch, hoping for better service. I was scheduled for an appointment between 1:30–2:00 pm, but no one called. When I phoned the office, I was told they had a “new customer walk in” who took longer than expected. Excuse me — I had a booked appointment!

This is completely unprofessional. No communication, no respect for customers’ time, and zero accountability.
Do yourself a favour — don’t bother with H&R Block.

Absolutely disgusting tax returns, previous years i have always gotten more then 2k from previous agents, however i recommend staying away from h&r block especially for bussinesses.

Why, they did not log my bas and i was charged over 600 for a tax return that returned 0 dollars.

I called to complain and they wanted to charge me more to log my bas.

Be careful of the "good reviews" most of them are fake, you can tell by checking their spelling and way of talking or even their other reviews.

H&R have been absolute garbage everytime I've called or scheduled a call in with them, they have always basically tried to scam me out of money and service, when I wasn't sure they would try end the call, their knowledge is just a pathetic and their service, and it goes on and on. NEVER go with this pathetic garbage company ever.

Pooja declined to refund me for a "pre-service" payment that was never provided and when I requested to speak with someone else, I was told no other staff member or manager would review my case. They are also demanding me to send my credit card details by email to "confirm" the refund which is highly unprofessional and suspicious, especially for a company that should be secure and encrypted when processing payments. This makes me question whether their website is secure at all and leaves me very worried about the safety of my personal and financial data.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. 0 communication and customer service. Unprofessional, Unhelpful, Stressful, Rude, Arrogant, Obnoxious boss babes in a mini skirt. You will have to chase up your return with phone calls every step of the way and that includes paying your HRblock service fee over the phone before they will lodge your "completed return" with the ato. I would rather poo in my hands and clap than use this service again.

Absolutely disgraceful experience with H&R Block. I paid thousands for business tax work that was never delivered. They managed to register my GST, then completely dropped the ball on everything else. No follow-up. No progress. Just silence.

After chasing them for weeks, I finally demanded a refund. They agreed, then proceeded to stall for over 10 days with no proof of payment and zero urgency. I had to keep emailing just to get basic replies. At this point, it feels like they're hoping I’ll just go away.

For a company of their size, this is pathetic. No professionalism. No accountability. I’ll be lodging complaints with every regulatory body I can find. Do not trust them with your business. They are a complete waste of time and money.

Will never ever be using H&R Block have had ato 2 years in a row ring to notify information lodged in wrong parts on tax lodgment delaying return. absolutely hopeless

Not only they have even more fees they are tne worst to deal with i had my return done on the 2nd it's now the 25th no return has been paid I do not recommend using H&R block

Lack of customer service. Extremely happy to do your return and take your money. My return was completed and received by the ATO on the 12th of August 2024. It is now 20th January 2025. I tried to contact my local office and left messages to no avail.
In frustration I contacted the ATO complaints line. This is when I found out that H & R Block had been notified via10 email from the ATO in relation to my return. At no stage did they advise me of these.

This company used to be great, today they are absolutely terrible rip off merchants. I have paid a fee to have my tax return completed online and they have locked it due to an error on their part. To get it fixed they say to call customer service. Customer service is not a team that can help, they say speak with the online team who are not available at all. The alternate is that I can pay EXTRA MONEY and speak to someone. This is an absolute outrage and after years of loyally using this service I will never do so again. Beware, this is pretty much extortion.

Engaged with Hari Randhawa of H&R Block to service my SMSF, Paid the 50% $1175.00 deposit to commence work, NO WORK WAS EVER CARRIED OUT During the 12 month engagement process !
I have all correspondence on file ready to share this awful experience
Requested a refund of the deposit and still not paid.
Now with late BAS and Returns , have received thousands in late penalties from ATO let alone being black listed

I rang the Fremantle H& R Block office and was told that my simple, average tax return would cost me $109 not only was it not maximised and I ended up with a hefty tax bill but was also told my Tax return was going to cost $179.00, had they been open and honest I would declined and gone somewhere else but they decided to charge me this outrageous amount after the return was completed, absolutely disgusting, Never, ever again

Rubbish. Do not use the online service! This was the first time I had used their service. They allocate an Indian accountant - All good. He does a refund estimate of $200. I didn't claim many deductions. My taxable income was around $115,000. I looked through it and realised he had charged me for Medicare Surcharge Levy, even though our combined income was under the $180,000 threshold. That's a $1150 hit to the pocket. I brought it up with him, he said he'd change it. I complained to the manager, highlighted this 'slip up' as he has undoubtedly done it to numerous unsuspecting customers, and asked for a discount considering he was going to cost me $1150. The issue was escalated through the ranks - all Indian. Then, they offered a 10% discount from $200. In the end, I did it myself. A pitiful service.
