The website, app, and support all stink. I have been trying to liquidate my remaining invested funds into cash so I can transfer it to a better HSA account elsewhere. But there website/app fail at thi... Mehr ansehen

They use to be the best for HSA’s but they got greedy and removed Schwab to collect more fees. The change was not thought out well or planned. I’ve closed my account and moved to a better option.

Company has zero regards for their…
Company has zero regards for their employees lives so don't expect anything extra when it comes to customer service. Customer service representatives have an incredibly stressful job and their employers are aware of that unfortunately, this bank doesn't care and chooses to force their agents to change their entire lives to fit their needs only. I don't want my money or anyone else's in the hands of corporate bullies and you shouldn't either. If they treat their own employees with utter disregaurd where is the incentive for the employees to treat customers well? There is none. So, do you want to bank where the employees are treated like property and have no reason to do anything more than the least expected of them? If so then HSA Bank is for you. Bottom line if you bank with HSA a division of Webster Bank know this, they don't care about their employees so their employees have zero reason to anything more than the bare minimum.
Stupid fees
Stupid fees, the worst website to navigate, extremely difficult to access YOUR money. Wish I had never gone with them. I set up an HSA at Fidelity and it was 1000x easier to deal with. Do NOT use HSA Bank
HSA Bank lost my paperwork that had my social security number
I sent paperwork to HSA Bank to transfers my funds elsewhere. After 2months had passed and the transfer had not occurred, I called to follow up. I spoke with Danny and was advised that they never received my paperwork. However, I had securely emailed my paperwork, so I could see it had been received and opened when I originally sent it. After asking to speak with a manager, Danny laughed. After waiting ample time on hold, he came back and said his manager, Adele, was busy and would call me back. I did receive a call with the caller ID being HSA Bank. However the line rang once, the caller then hung up and didn’t leave a voicemail. HSA Bank lost my paperwork, which included my Social Security number, and instead of apologizing for their mistake, I was laughed at and ignored.
Fake bank
They emailed me saying there is a problem with my account but when I try to call, they asked for my full Social Security number, date of birth, name, and address. What kind of bag does that?
HSA Bank website claims that they offer…
HSA Bank website claims that they offer "ETF, mutual funds and more" as investment options for their customers so I ask to define "MORE" since I am interested in T-bills, CD's, Money Market funds... They told me I have to call for security reasons. I called, they told me to go on website for info, than after some internal consultations, they came back and said that I have to open an account first and than log in and find out what is available. I couldn't geographically locate the horrible accent of the person I was talking to, and I have one myself so I am good at it since I lived in 5 countries on 3 continents, but bank service is worst than a 3th country with zero logic. I'll stay away and advise others to do the same. I tried to contact their main owner but no real options there neither.
Client of HSA Bank for over 15 years
Client of HSA Bank for over 15 years. Recently they ceased relationship with Schwab which had allowed clients to invest their savings and grow their reserves for medical use. However, HSA Bank DID NOT have their own investment system properly setup or functioning. Even something as simple as putting cash in a money market mutual fund was not available as of 1/16/25 with the new HSA Bank investment portal. What's worse, they automatically withdrew cash from any Schwab investments and swept it back into your HSA account. WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. So now I am not able to invest in a liquid money market to earn interest and keep funds available for medical use. Essentially, they control your money and do not offer adequate options for managing or investing.
As a moderately educated investor and business owner, I highly recommend you AVOID this comp[any for your HSA Needs, and if you currently use them, I would recommend you find a more trustworthy organization to manage your investment for your health. I honestly can't even imagine this is LEGAL. As a former 15+ year client, DO NOT USE this company. #HSA #BANK #HSABANK
Health Savings Account became inaccessable
After successful utilization of my health savings account for over 15 years I suddenly could not access my account online to pay medical bills. I called for 3 consecutive days and talked to 5 different customer service representatives who elevated the issue to IT and supervisors. It was suggested each day I needed to wait a few hours and call back or try the next day. Today, I called once again but they were unable to provide access. They said try tomorrow as they are doing some system maintenance.
It appears I am stuck.
They suck $3/mo out of your account
They suck $3/mo out of your account. They also intentionally leave off your account number from their web portal, their statements, and the debit card. When you call the number on the debit card, you get Cigna. Who then wants to transfer you to HSA bank so you wait on hold some more. These guys are awful.
If there is a choice, choose elsewhere...
We've been with HSA for several years now, and they are the worst. Constant denials and appeals over ridiculous things. If you have a choice, choose elsewhere.
I was with hsa bank for a number of…
I was with hsa bank for a number of years but they have pivoted away from schwab’s hsba investing platform, so I rolled my account over to lively.
Was a client of theirs for many years…
Was a client of theirs for many years and used TD Ameritrade (now acquired by Schwab) to invest the surplus funds. THEN, HSA Bank decides to sever their ties with Schwab and develop their own in house program. Uhh, NEWS FLASH-you don't just develop a brokerage and they (HSA Bank) were imposing fees! Well, won't have any of that nonsense, so found highly ranked HSA custodians and asked one (Lively) to transfer my HSA Bank account to Lively. HSA Bank refused to do an "in kind" transfer and I therefore had to liquidate all my positions. Then, it took more than SIX WEEKS for them to send MY money to Lively (the new HSA custodian) and charged and EXIT FEE! All they had to do is assign Lively HSA custodianship of my account! No liquidation, no six weeks. Do yourself a favor and avoid this once excellent company and put your $ with Lively/Schwab. You'll have impeccable customer service from both. FLEE HSA Bank! I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for not doing a transfer in kind and taking 6 weeks to transfer my money.
use anybody else
use anybody else! i have personally had healthequity before and they were better. i am FORCED to use this company by my insurance provider/federal gov (GEHA).
big issue #1 - a while back i got divorced, and did all the accompanying changes to all the insurance stuff. somehow something got jacked up at HSA Bank and they LOST about 10 months worth of employer contributions. it came out of my check, my HR was able to confirm it made it to HSA Bank, and they couldn't find it. so... they cost me about $600.
big issue #2 - this year they have changed the platform you use for your HSA investments TWICE. they switched to Schwab about a year ago, which was welcome because it's a very user friendly interface, with tons of options. was still a PITA to set it all up, but at least there was benefit. then like 9 months later they sever their relationship with schwab, you can't even keep your HSA money that you already put in schwab there, and it gets yanked out and put in their own online platform called "HSA Invest" and that platform SUCKS! and also charges fees that were not charged before, and you only got a 3 month grace period before those fees go into affect.
wanna transfer your money out via rollover? well guess what, the PDF form isn't fillable, so print it out and do it all by hand and then scan or snailmail it. what a joke. desperately trying to hold onto your money, probably because they are trying to stem the outflows of capital resulting from their poor customer service.
HSA Bank is terrible
HSA Bank is terrible. Especially for the investment accounts. If I could go anywhere else, I would. They micromanage you and your account to funnel funds through their own platform to steal your money. Not only that they did a finds sweep from the old Charles Schwab platform and didn’t even allow me to keep that account open. Now I’m forced into their brokerage laced with fees with less investment options and less flexibility. Terrible HSA from the ground up.
This is one of the worse companies I’ve…
This is one of the worse companies I’ve ever had to deal with. 3 times I asked them to mail me a debit card and all 3 times card never arrived. I then tried to close the account and they told me I need to pay $25 to close the account which is preposterous since I didn’t volunteerly open this account; it was opened through my work. But the worse part of all this is that when I was closing the account, I was very adamant that I don’t want them to send me a check, because for whatever reason when they mail me things it never arrives, and I was leaving the country so I didn’t have time to wait and hope it arrives. 10 days later, no money deposited. I call to ask what happened, and they tell me that they mails me check. I am furious. Avoid this company at all costs if you can.
StateFarm bank turned our HSA account…
StateFarm bank turned our HSA account over to these scammers and they started charging a fee and slowly draining the account balance. There was NO fee arrangement on the original account and no adequate notification that fees would start. I didn't have any reason to frequently check the account since it was inactive on my current health insurance, but HSABank was stealing MY money in fees. AVOID this horrible company.
