I’ve have been dealing with Ivory Jimmy for over a year now and I have found her work efficient and outstanding, I would recommend her to that is in need of a conveyancing solicitor.

Last two weeks I made a complain about how horrible your services is. Yes, I still stand on it that it’s horrible, unprofessional and selfish of interest. How can you send me email saying that

“we would like to congratulate you on the completion of the Sale of the above-mentioned property”

without a certificate or paperwork from the land registry. This is literally horrible and unprofessional.

I’m leaving this second review after my original one was removed — not because it was inaccurate, but because Hutchins & Co objected to it on a technicality. That in itself reflects very poorly on how they handle feedback and accountability.

In terms of the actual service: Hutchins & Co were the weak link in our property chain. Their online-only approach might look efficient on the surface, but in our case, it led to unacceptable delays and poor communication throughout the process. Every other party in the chain was working constructively and moving things forward — except Hutchins & Co, who were slow to respond, difficult to reach, and seemed unable to keep pace.

The lack of visibility or urgency added stress for multiple families, not just us. The firm gave the impression of being under-resourced and overwhelmed, with no clear point of accountability when things started to fall apart.

Follow-up: It’s disappointing that instead of addressing concerns, they attempted to suppress them. I hope this version helps others make a more informed decision. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before entrusting them with something as time-sensitive and important as a property transaction.

I had an amazing experience working with Ivory Jimmy. She was fast-paced, efficient, and provided clear, professional guidance throughout the entire process. Communication was excellent, and she was always patient, easy to talk to, and quick to respond to any questions I had. The whole journey was smooth, and we completed on time with no issues. Worst experience! They were acting on the buyers behalf during the sale of my property. What should have been a straightforward process dragged on for 6 agonising months due to their inefficiency, poor communication, and lack of urgency.

From the very beginning, there were unnecessary delays. 1 specific time they were waiting on documents for 2 weeks when my solicitor had emailed these over the very same day they were requested. They were often unresponsive, failing to return calls or emails to my solicitor for sometimes weeks. Basic tasks took far longer than they should have. My solicitor and I constantly had to follow up and chase the estate agents as we would be getting no response, which added unnecessary stress.

There was no proactive communication—my solicitor and I were left in the dark for long periods. The lack of organisation and accountability was shocking, especially for a professional legal service.

After six months of chasing, missed deadlines, and endless frustration, the sale finally completed—but only because me, my solicitors and the estate agent pushed relentlessly. I would not recommend Hutchinson & Co to anyone looking for a smooth, efficient, or stress-free conveyancing experience.

Save yourself the headache and go with a more competent firm. I even met the buyer who they were acting for and he said he would never use these guys again.

Despite having three different conveyancers dealing with our sale, although sometimes frustrating things went fairly smoothly. Mr Yehia Makky, who took over towards the end of the sale was excellent, we can't thank him enough. We will use Hutchins Law again for property transactions.

Salem was fantastic throughout the whole
conveyancing process. I am very glad to have found him and am grateful for all his help.

Talah the solicitor that helped out on my case was amazing , she was happy to answer any and every question and very responsive and looked out for me!

I have been asked by Hutchins & Co to edit my original review which was not positive about my experience and explained my concerns. I must make it clear; I was selling a property and they were acting for my buyer and I was not their client.
I have been asked to remove the details but in summary this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a solicitor.
I would strongly recommend that you do not use them to save you the same pain that I have been though.

This is one of the worst solicitors I have had the misfortune to deal with.
Where do I start? so many issues, I wont go into too much detail otherwise I'll be here all night.
1. the thing the drove me NUTS, they never call you back even after they say they will, lost count how many times this happened must easily have been 60+ times.
2. complete lack of priority
3. staff can't be bothered
4. I had 3 different case handlers all of whom seemd incompetent, in the end after lodging a complaint due to the absolute horror show 1 of the managing partners had to take on my case - which was a standard conveyance so nothing out of the ordinary.
5. Mistakes, sending emails to the wrong parties, or not sending emails at all. there seems to be a complete air of turmoil at this firm with people leaving at the drop of a hat.
6. unable to to do basic enquieries, i.e. I had to get new build documents by making my own enquiries to the council and from my previous solicitors who seemed mystified as to why hutchins couldn't have made the same enquiries.
7. one one occasion the buyer solicitor was refusing to accept an indemnity insurance hutchins had offered so what do they do? just keep offering it repeatedly for about 2 months. this was when I had to get involved make enquieries to the council etc to get the building regs that the buying solicitor had wanted.
8. complete lack of urgency, our conveyance dragged on for almost 6 months to the point where ppl in the chain were threatening to pull out, hutchins just didn't seem bothered.
9. They seem to delay everything, just taking way longer than would be expected due to the many reasons mentioned and even when they agreed to meet a dealine or deliver by a date they would then fail to meet that.
I would not recommend this firm not would I ever go near them again, and they weren't even the cheapest either.

Talah was super helpful for our conveyancing transaction, showing flexibility and understanding of our position and abilities. She was very responsive throughout the process, as well as the due diligence elements of the transaction. We would recommend her for other property transactions.

Exceptional Service!
Roberta was absolutely great, throughout the transaction of purchasing my first property, she explained all the steps involved, answered every email. Every time I called the office, if Roberta was unavailable Carlotta would take on the call and update me. They both worked super fast, I am honestly lost for words as every solicitor I have ever dealt lacks in communication, but this cannot be said about Roberta and Carlotta. I highly recommend!!

We were given Ivory Jimmy within this firm to do all our paperwork for the house and wow did she do a fantastic job! We wanted it done by the end of march to avoid stamp duty and we really didn’t give her long! And she managed to pull through and complete paperwork in a superb amount of time couldn’t thank her enough! Highly recommend! Very kind and fast response times too!
