Initially, I was reluctant to choose between the online course and proceeding with the on-site course from the British Council. I'm glad I took this risk and signed up for ITA's 11-week online course. Since it was not an intensive course, I was able to maintain a good work-life balance. My instructor was very helpful and understanding. Overall, I had a great experience and received my certificate on time.

My experience with ITA was trustworthy and worthwile. I had an ITA counselor who helped me walked through the steps of the course, the finances involved, and discussed my goals and dreams. My experience was during COVID when I wanted to leave the country and pursue teaching elsewhere. The course itself was straightforward. The modules were easy to access; the content was understandeable; and their framework for ESL teaching gave ample thinking space for students to realize the demands of TEFL teaching.

I ultimately was able to realize my dreams when I left for Taiwan in 2022. I initially taught at an international school but moved to a government school. Though my university degrees helped me gain both jobs, my current job at the government school required frameworks and teaching tools that ITA taught specifically. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to quickly transfer all my knowledge from the ITA course to my current job in Taiwan. Now I am succeeding and thriving. The ROI of my ITA course is high.

I had returned from serving in the Peace Corps, and I knew I wanted to continue working abroad. ITA offered me a discounted fee, due to my Peace Corps experience. The course was highly instructive, with lots of hands on tips and resources. The best part for me was the exhaustive list of language school partners to use as a guide in applying for jobs. I was hired immediately. I can happily report having taught now, over the past six years, in Peru, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and Mongolia. I was offered a two year teaching contract in Qatar, but I declined. My TEFL certificate has served me well. It was a worthwhile investment that has rewarded me greatly. I recommend this program, for its academics, its many resources, its high level of accountability, and its impressive customer service.

I came from teaching Fine Arts. I needed to supplement my income. During COVID-19(2020-2024), I found International TEFL Academy (ITA) a solid fit for my needs and wants with the online classes. I completed my TEFL certification and practicums. I was hired from the time I finished my certification. Today, I work for a language school in New York City. My schedule is full and so are my classes. I am confident with my choice with The Academy. Time and money well spent with a valuable and rewarding return with my ESL teaching experience.

I truly loved the course. It was done online, and the instructor was top notch on knowledge and helping to understand what to do and how to do it. The money was worth the course. I use my knowledge now at my school to help parents that are not English speakers. I made a great choice, and you will too.

First of all the classes are great in getting you prepared for your teaching journey, they are intense and it has a lot of info. I personally took the 11 week online TEFL certification course and I learned so much. I would highly recommend it.
Secondly, they have really good support and help you in your journey even after you complete your course.

This program stands out as the most impactful learning experience of my career to date. The combination of a highly intuitive and user-friendly website, a flexible yet clear self-paced structure, and well-defined deadlines created an ideal learning environment. Furthermore, the instructor's timely and constructive responses to questions and feedback significantly enhanced my understanding and overall experience. I have recommended this program to colleagues, friends and family members.

These courses were garbage, I don't recommend them. It is so overly academic and they act as if you're teaching Oxford students, not tutoring children on zoom. Waste of money, and you can find free courses of TEFL at Alison Learning.

Their sales people are pushy and misleading regarding the course. This is not a self paced course. There are due dates and peer discussion posts as well as weekly assignments. You have to procure your own 20 hour practicum and finish it before you can receive your certification. There are lots of sale offers on the course, so don't be pressured into signing up for this course. Their cancellation policy is misleading. If you don't cancel this course 14 days after purchasing it you will have to battle them for the refund (currently doing), even if you didn't receive the course instruction, start the class, or pay for the course. I have had to file a BBB complaint and I honestly don't know what will come of it. I would never have this issue with an actual university or tech school, whose policies allow you to cancel even after you've started the course, with a full refund. Beware of companies that have misleading policies and whose sales approach is very pushy. I wish I would have never signed up for this course and just waited to sign up until after my vacation. I would have had a better experience with a local university. People change their mind and decide to go in a different direction. There needs to be allowances for that. This business does not have good customer service. It's disappointing and frustrating and doesn't give me a lot of encouragement in regards to the resolution.

I had high expectations for the International TEFL Academy (ITA) based on their marketing, but my experience with both their online TEFL course and job placement program was deeply disappointing. ITA consistently overpromised and underdelivered, to the point that I would consider it misrepresentation.
First, their job placement support was nearly useless. The country data they provided was already two years out of date, which made it difficult to plan realistically for job opportunities. Given how quickly visa regulations and hiring trends change, I expected current information—something they claim to provide but clearly do not.
The online TEFL course itself was equally disappointing. My instructor barely participated in the class, offering only a single, generic post each week. Her comments on student posts were brief, generic, and lacked any real engagement or useful feedback. It was obvious she was just phoning it in, which made me question the value of the course as a whole.
For the price ITA charges, I expected a much higher level of quality, engagement, and support. Unfortunately, what I got was an impersonal experience and outdated resources. If you're serious about getting TEFL certified and finding a job, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I've been teaching at a public school in Guatemala, my students learned the basics in one year and I've applied everything I learned! I had 81 students in 5th and 6th grades. This year they told me that they are grateful for everything I did with them, and that's thanks to International TEFL Academy! They loved the lessons and activities! I just followed the PPP plan I learned with them. I've been able to create my own program. This year I'm teaching the whole school! That's 350 students, kindergarten through 6th grade, ages 4 to 16.

The course was good and I completed it and my practicum but never received my TEFL certificate

I got my certification to teach english as a foreign language with International TEFL Academy on a whim. I wanted to teach egnlish but hadn't yet decided if i would really see it through (aka leave the USA to teach abroad). However, the course itself taught me so much about teaching (and learners) and the methodology and it surpassed my expectations. The resources ITA provided for agencies and organizations was also super helpful. I eventually did go abroad to teach and loved it so much that I renewed for a second year. They were the best years of my life and adventure and memory filled!

International TEFL Academy has great instructors, a robust curriculum, and provides excellent resources. I received my TEFL certification and have completed additional add on classes. I feel International TEFL Academy has provided everything needed to set me up for success as a teacher of English as a foreign language.

ITA's customer service is superb and their course is high quality. My instructor was very professional and had brilliant insight. I highly recommend them!

I am pleased that I chose ITEFLA as my school. It opened my eyes to the amount of training required to be a TEFL teacher. This training has helped me to think outside of the conventional box. My instructor has been very helpful, especially as I am teaching for the first time. I feel I am not alone in this exciting new adventure.
