This is a total SCAM trying to profit from a tragedy...glad i did not buy anything
Exactly the same as a company claiming to operate out of Melbourne??
Same bio style, same products that ship from China…
I ordered and paid by card, for a swimsuit.
When I check my bank account.... the company is in Waddinxveen, Netherlands....I don't expect to receive this article, as the heartbreak story is obviously a scam.... Is there a wY of getting my money back? Kari.
Scam business trying to profit off the Bondi Beach shooting tragedy.
This store does not exist in Bondi, and probably not even NSW or Australia.
They don't include their ABN on their website, which is a legal requirement.
The website was created AFTER the shooting
I got sucked in I never ever fall for scams - but it appears I did - shameful that anyone would cash in on people’s tragedies. I saw what I thought had Happened - supposedly a store in Bondi closing due to sadness and loss of a partner James shot in the Bondi attack . I rarely buy things and can’t afford much but thought ok I nee a few new clothes I’ll do this and even sent an email of condolences !!! Which they responded to thanking me !
Then I showed a friend , isn’t this sad … but look I decided to get some things
She scrolls abd brings up the Chinese store Shien. Well the items that I paid $250 for I could have bought from Shien for $20
Also I know Shien will be too small and badly made and also who knows if they even will come and nos I’m scared they have my info !!
It’s sad and terrible they would use a tragedy like that to misrepresent themselves .
I feel like a total idiot that I fell for it - I did check if they had insta and it appeared legit / I checked google but obviously I hadn’t seen reviews
I defintely should have done a deep dive.
Oh well now my yearly spend for Some new clothes is gone …. Which also suxs
So yes this is absolutely misrepresentation / and I suspect I’ve been absolutely scammed.
Hello TrustPilot Reviews.
I too am of the similar likeminded thinking of the other previous reviewers of this particular business titled Isla and James Bondi beach. I saw and read the " we are closing down sale of a boutique that was built up on trust, faith and inner connection, but since the tragedy in Bondi the shop is closing down forever".
I felt for the shop owners, and honestly naturally I wanted to help and purchase two small items.
However, ... I actually needed to take a closer look at the two products using my large screen desktop computer vs just my phone and an Instagram scroll. I too tried many different pathways of trying to find the actual webpage and current store front shop in Bondi.
No luck at all. The web address is dead end nil results when you type islaandjames.com, Google shows up nil results as well.
Yes, it is possible the owners may have already taken the webpage of their store down. But if you are having an online store sale plus the shopfront sale, the website would still be active to enable online orders to operate and be active.
It is a very unpleasant, unnatural and pure mud, dirt to try and pull-on people's humanities and kindness just to make a side pile of cash out of a human tragedy that occurred in Bondi causing so much pain grief tragedies then using a scam and people's names to make a quick dollar. All this does is encourage poor behaviors which no one needs at all ever.
I am grateful that I decided to perform a Google search on the store and then all these Red flags came up using my proper computer vs just believing in Instagram and its scroll. Sad day that this scam was even developed.
Clicked on a sponsored link in fb to check out some cute shoes, which took me to a webpage with all the tell-tale features of an untrustworthy business. For example: no physical store; no .com.au domain name; no ABN listed; no PayPal option; cheesy AI image of a middle-aged couple on the homepage; overdone AI-generated text about Isla's partner being injured in the Bondi shooting incident; overpriced, ordinary products that are available elsewhere; non-UK English used throughout. The website targets emotions, creates urgency and attempts to profit from tragic circumstances. Disgusting.
This company's "closing down sale" due to Bondi Beach shooting rang alarm bells, particularily because the "James" in the Isla and James was apparently killed...
A quick google search required.
It's pretty appalling, whoever is behind this scam.
Like Susan I question this store? Popped up on instagram but unsure about the authenticity. Unless someone has purchased from here. No address and no PayPal. Smells scam.
Making money off the Bondi Beach tragedy with Instagram ads. Never heard of them, searching them up finds nothing other than their website that's apparently 'closing down', not a single review anywhere. I smell BS.
