Excellent practice
I first visited Jam physio following foot surgery in 2022 and couldn't thank them enough for how they assisted my recovery. So, when I had similar surgery on the other foot in 2024 I didn't hesitate in booking for some treatment. Peter gave me exercises and a treatment plan tailored to my needs and 2 - 3 months in all was going well and I had gained full mobility back in the foot. However, I then developed ankle pain. I couldn't put weight on my foot and was struggling to walk. I saw my GP who referred to NHS Physio who diagnosed perennial tendonitis and estimated 6 - 8 weeks to recover. I was pretty miserable but did the exercises they gave me. Six weeks later there was little improvement so I went back to see Peter, and so glad I did. The consultation was so much more in depth and the concern and plan for recovery so much more tailored to my individual need, my spirits were instantly lifted and I was left feeling positive and hopeful that I might recover. However, soon after this the NHS did eventually do an X ray and I was called in to discuss the results in early Dec 2024. They told me I had arthritis and it's degenerative and could offer injections that "may" help with the pain. It was all doom and gloom and I left feeling devastated that I would never be able to walk again without pain. I was feeling pretty despondent when I went to my following appointment with Peter, almost in tears when telling him as I thought there was no recovery. In total contrast, Peter's response was the opposite, indicating there is plenty we can do. I was so happy to hear this! Jam Physio/ Peter, Jamie and anybody else I have seen there - What a breath of fresh air! There is just such a positive, can do, nothing will defeat us attitude that resonates throughout the clinic. I followed Peter's advice and did a course of MBST alongside some shockwaves treatment and, of course religiously did the exercises he gave me. I wanted to walk again, I was miserable. The MBST course finished just before Xmas but they say can take up to 12 weeks to take full effect. I was walking normally and pretty much pain free by end Jan. I saw Peter for a review at the end of Feb and almost skipped into the appointment. Thanks to the treatment at Jam Physio's my mental as well as physical health was improved. Thank you Jamie and all the team (including reception), but especially Peter, for getting me mobile and happy again. PS! I'm still regularly doing the exercises to maintain the strength in that ankle and will continue to do so if it keeps me moving pain free.
