Joel is an absolute living legend! I have several of his instructional courses, and they've been a huge help to my photography career. He explains everything: lighting, posing, gear, retouching, and it's all step-by-step as though you were with him one-on-one. His portraits are truly stunning, and his videos explain exactly how he does it. It's amazing how generous Joel is in sharing his hard-earned experience and techniques. His courses are worth every penny.
Recently, I mistakenly ordered the wrong series and his team immediately corrected the situation, and they gave me the correct series at no extra charge, even though it cost a bit more than the one I had purchased. They're the best!

As someone passionate about photography, I can confidently say that Joel Grimes’ online courses on JoelGrimes.com have been some of the most valuable and inspiring I've ever taken. Joel is a true professional with decades of experience and it shows in every single lesson. As a Canon Explorer of Light, he brings not only his talent but also a deep understanding of visual storytelling, technical precision, and creative artistry.

What sets these courses apart is the range and depth of content. Whether you're diving into dramatic portraits, still life, urban landscapes, lighting, or even learning how to master post-processing and retouching — Joel covers it all. He also walks you through real-world scenarios like shooting on location, setting up a studio at home, and even how to turn your passion into a business.

His "start to finish" tutorials — including beauty headshots, strobing nature, dramatic character shoots like "The Buffalo Soldier," or stylized concepts like "Mad Max" and "Nefertiti" — are incredibly insightful. The fact that he covers everything from gear and composition to printing and business strategy makes this a complete learning journey, not just a series of isolated tips.

On top of that, the customer support team is excellent — fast, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Any time I’ve had a question or needed help navigating the platform, they’ve responded quickly and gone above and beyond to assist.

Joel’s approach is authentic, encouraging, and filled with the kind of practical wisdom that only comes from years behind the lens. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned shooter looking to level up, this library is worth every second.

Highly recommended for anyone serious about photography. Thank you, Joel, for sharing your knowledge with such generosity and passion!

Joel and his team have never failed to reply to me or make it right with me. They help me get things installed to get things rolling. Dave always answered my emails you can't ask more from the company than having their full support. Thank you, Joel.

The Joel Grimes videos are wonderful and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful! I highly recommend if you are looking for an online source to increase your skills!

What a great guy! Exceptionally knowledgeable and even more passionate about the art called photography. Attended London Excel centre sessions and thoroughly enjoyed them all. For a newbie like myself, it truly was an absolute pleasure to watch a master at work.

Lovely, super fast and very friendly support from Chris!!! Can’t wait to get started on my course, thank you :)

It was pleasing to be able to contact this website and get a reply on some info I was chasing, re another site. They took the time to reply to my email. It was appreciated.

Hello everyones, i just bought the "master photoshop bundle" and i began the photoshop Masterclass with Kristina Sherk. I love it, the explications are great and Kristina is wonderfull. I am 60 and feel like a little boy in à candy shop. Don't stop your good job👍

The support was super quick to solve my issue. The content of the classes is legit and outstanding!

I signed up for Joes's newest course and had a coupon for a discount, I was charged the full price and I sent an email to asking why the discount was applied....turns out I must not have hit the enter button, however, they applied the discount to my account and sent me a refund. This all happened within 2 hours...wow!

Fabulous still life course. Joel talks you through the process very clearly. Loads to learn and practice. Support section were also very helpful when I had a couple of questions about the download. Thoroughly recommend this.

Outstanding and rapid support.
Issue solved within minutes. Couldn't ask for better!

Received a quick response and discount provided but unfortunately due to illness missed sale.

I've purchased the "beginning photography" masterclass.
Joel is clearly a successful photographer and he knows what he's doing, but so far into the course I find he just can't get the information across without interrupting himself and starting another train of thought.
Also he was trying to explain the 18% gray concept, which he kept calling the 50% for some reason, and he was supposed to show a couple of cards and one he left in his other studio and the other one his son borrowed so he didn't have it.
I don't see how you start recording videos without all the material you need to get your point across.
Another thing is it would have been nice to see concept like aperture, ISO and shutter played live while he was talking. He's just sitting there trying to get his point across, and maybe a couple of images with the example of what he wanted to get across would have helped to visualize the concept and digest it better.
I'm only a quarter of the way through and I will finish the course, but so far I don't think it's worth paying for it when there are so many other sources of information that will actually show you what they are talking about.

I have several of Joel Grimes's tutorials and they are of a very high standard. I recently had an issue with a payment for a new tutorial offered at a reduced price, for some reason the full discount was not applied and I contacted the team. A refund was made on receipt of my email - very quick and very impressive customer service. Like many people, I judge a company by how it reacts when things don't go as planned, and in this case the response was flawless.

I made a mistake and processed my order before keying in the coupon code. I reached out to Support who credited my account immediately! I long for customer service where the experience exceeds expectations! Thank you Joel and Team! I appreciate the responsiveness and excellent service!

Great customer service. Chris resolved my course question quickly.

Joel Grimes consistently delivers content of the highest professional standard. As a natural and gifted teacher, his passion for photography is both inspiring and contagious, making the learning process genuinely enjoyable. His ability to simplify complex concepts is unmatched, and I highly recommend his teachings. On top of that, his photography is nothing short of stunning!

Chris was able to quickly resolve and issue with a product now showing up in my library.
Thank you for the excellent service!
