Cheap and modern

Very cheap quote. 2 years driving (so this’ll be number 3) and got a quote £100-£200 less than on comparison sites like MoneySuperMarket. £740 ish, no black box. Test drive didn’t interfere at all with anything and they don’t monitor once you’ve got a quote so not like one of those apps.

My renewal is a month and a bit away so I’ll hopefully get it a bit cheaper then too

Support can sometimes be a bit slow and forget to reply but on the whole they’re decent. FCA regulated and properly underwritten which is important too.

Update: (07/04) my purchase with Rooster has come in at £150 cheaper than the comparison sites and my renewal (no black box for Rooster bare in mind). That's with NCB protection. Without it'd be about £200 cheaper than renewal. Gone with them for my policy. £805 NCB protection fully comp, 2 years driving no box

Come on, seriously?

Been with rooster for two years, great two years, renewal coming up now, the quote came up over £3400 more than what I was just paying during my current policy??? contacted support, was told that the underwriters have refused to give me a quote due to large theft / vandilism claims in the "manchester area"

For a company that prides itself in providing a service for the "better" group of drivers its absolutely shocking to have this happen. Now I'm going to have to pay a ridiculous scammy amount every year just to get insured on the pretence that Ill write my car off every time I get in it...

Insurance is beyond a joke in this country.

Stung by renewal quote.

Been with Rooster a year, I would say no faults and great price.
However, just got my renewal. They want an extra £1000 on top of last year, way over double.
My wife also got a renewal quote of over double.
So won’t be renewing either policy.

Rooster app is great for insurance…

The test drive is an excellent way to keep you driving smoothly and safely, and the algorithm works very well when driving long distance such as on motorways. The call centre chat staff are quick to respond and the prices quoted are very good for fully comprehensive cover.

DO NOT BE FOOLED

DO NOT BE FOOLED! Just completed 4 week test period with excellent in all areas so with 35 years no claims and being a middle aged driver I thought I would be saving 40% on my current insurance of £450 a year but guess what? My quote more than doubled to nearly a thousand. When I questioned this they replied we can't give a discount to everyone. I have my own theory as to what they are up to.
My advice is don't touch with a barge pole!!!!
See explanation below or should I say twaddle. No detail at all as to why I was offered such a ridiculously high quote.

We price risk very differently to other players in the market & believe that by using each individual's actual driving behaviour (where, when, how & why) as our primary measure of predicting future claims we price more accurately and fairer. Definitely recommend to everyone

I like this app a lot. Got a great quote (my renewal is not for 6 months so not purchased yet). Mot alerts & ability to find cheap repairs looks good as well. Be good to be able to set an alert for when my existing policy ends. Highly recommended

Do not waste your time!

Terrible. Do not waste your time, I didn’t recieve any quotes. Furthermore, the results were inaccurate. Do not bother waiting 2 weeks!

Great app, great service

I‘m currently doing my test drive but the app is great so far and the customer service has been great! I messaged with random questions and got an instant response helping me out.

Amazing customer service

Amazing customer service. I’m doing my test drive now but even without the insurance the app itself is great! It shows when MOT and tax is due and loads of other useful stuff. Really recommend

Complete waste of time

Complete waste of time, had the app running for a couple of weeks and was told they do not insure electric cars...Even though I told them it was an electric car before I started using the app and input the car details into the app which were recognised, in the app for the whole 2 weeks it kept saying only a few more days everything looking good! I think they are just a data farming company to be honest. UPDATE - The response below is complete rubbish, here is the reply I received from their customer service team, they really dont know what they are doing. App deleted....god knows what else its recording...
"Apologies, our new underwriters have some restrictions on high performance and high insurance grouped vehicles"
"Sadly we dont have the details of the vehicles which have these restrictions nor do we have the guidance to know who will be effected by these restrictions. We can only apologies. Your test drive is valid for 18 months so please come back if you change vehicle in this time. Thanks for giving Rooster a go!"

Would definitely recommend

The drive tracking was good, though didn't always get it right when I was a passenger in someone else's car.
The quote was competitive and provided all I needed.
Would have been 5* but unfortunately a system error charged twice for the premium which caused account issues with the bank. Thankfully quickly resolved though. The online chat facility means you don't need to sit on the phone for hours to get an answer to your question

The idea in general looks great but ridiculously silly quote

The idea in general looks great , but they gave me poor rating on distractibility but thats because i use navigation all the time as my mobile is mounted on the dash , breaking was also as they said a problem dont know why
Speed was perfect all through , driving only during social hours
I have 4 years no claim
Ended up giving me a quote of over 2000 lol

Am paying 800 at the moment

Its a joke i guess

Dont waste your time or phone battery

Do not use! Waste of time.

Soo poor! Had the app for over two weeks with it not changing from 10-18 days remaining on my test drive! I drive every day working with social care and know I do not drive poorly and I am a sole single father of two so would never.
Either way I decided to message them and ask why. Rooster then replied saying they couldn’t offer me a competitive quote due to my test drive. Due to my breaking? Which has no issue on my drive safe app.

I then asked why as I knew that this was incorrect! Never had an accident. Passed my test with no minors 6 years ago and never had any issues with insurance or any other insurance. Also drive safe app hasn't picked up on any issues with my driving.
