Confusing quotes, high fees, and zero competition
I am only with KCOM because there is no other choice in my area, and they clearly take advantage of that. Not only are their standard prices much higher than the national average, but their internal communication is a mess.
I received a renewal notice 3 months early with an 'offer' price. When I called to discuss it, the support team quoted me a price even higher than the one in the email. It is unacceptable to be quoted two different high prices for the same sub-par service.
To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi quality is terrible. Despite the router being downstairs, I have no usable signal on the second floor. I am paying premium prices for a service that doesn't even cover my whole house and a support team that can't even match their own advertised quotes. If any other provider moves into my street, I will be the first to leave

Loyal customer - breaching contract
I have been with KCOM for 7 years now as a loyal customer, never late paying a bill.
They provide the WiFi in my home address.
This WiFi connection is 1000x slower than the speed we pay monthly for. We are receiving KBPS instead of MPBS.
I have rang numerous times, had an engineer in the past to my home and it’s still the exact same speed. Due to us been in a contact we would need to pay a large fee - when KCOM are the ones breaching this.
Not a happy customer at all.

After filing my 4th complaint about speeds and service ive yet again just been sent another router to see if that will work, when we know its not going to. Even though KCOM are in breach of contact by delivering closer to 800kbps and not the 900mbps we are paying for.
LITERALLY 1000times SLOWER.
They still threaten with charges of up to £500 to cancel. worst customer services I've ever experienced. How can a company know that they're performing so bad and offer so little resolution. Last tech support just gave us the turn it off and on approach. Didn't work again.
As you'll find out the original KCOM Account has 1.3stars on here and that would be a lot more accurate.
Terrible company, terrible providers, horrendous customer service.

My Internet was always fairly good, but very expensive
My Internet was always fairly good. Charges have always been high. KC had a monopoly in Hull for a very long time, which meant no option to leave. We do now have options, after years of being told I was on my best deal, I've finally given up and am in the process of changing supplier. Amazingly I have now been bombarded with special offers to entice me - a "loyal customer" to stay, the rates are almost half my previous monthly payment. Rather than encourage me to stay, this encourages me to leave. How can they justify charging so much, with no offers of reducing even slightly, then, as I have now had enough, and found a company who has good reviews, so far amazing service with regard to keeping me informed of how things are progressing, they now keep e-mailing and calling me to offer me these great deals.
They even asked me to take a survey on payment's, asking why I don't pay by DD, I've paid by DD for the duration of my being a customer (18 years). So well done on that, and then asked to complete a review.. so here it is!
