Have sent multiple pairs of shoes to the keycobbler in the past 5 years (now Sole and Trail).

From hiking boots to smart shoes, always been very impressed with the service, craftsmanship and attention to detail.

I had this company replace the soles on my daughter's Dr Martens boots but the soles fell off in September of this year. Granted that's a year of walking, alternated by her other pair which are still fine but you expect a decent repair on an excellent boot and this wasn't one. The poor girl had to walk 20 minutes in the rain and spend the rest of the day drying the boots out so she could walk home. I'm very disappointed by this poor workmanship.

The first repair with this company was marvellous. I was so pleased I sent another pair of Fly knee length boots for soling. This time the result was really poor. Too much taken off the original soles and careless addition of the new ones. My boots are unwearable. I did not respond within the two weeks in the small print as I was away on holiday. All my subsequent emails have been ignored. What a shame I have had to resort to this poor review.

Had trail shoes resoled. Have just run in them, they feel absolutely awesome and order was fulfilled quicker than dates initially indicated.

Great service, highly recommend if you want some more grip on the shoes.

Just had my trusty walking boots resoled. Mid-sole had hydrolysed (disintegrated) so fitted a whole new sole unit. They are good as new, maybe even more comfortable as the Superfeet insoles have moulded to my feet.

I had a pair of Italian Forma motorcycle boots, of which the left sole kept detaching. My local Cobbler in Hexham had 3 attempts and then the heel came adrift. I asked online and someone recommended The Key Cobbler in Kendal. I have now moved near Stranraer, and wanted both soles replaced with Vibram. Kendal was still the closest so I dropped them off on my way to a bike rally down south. Chris was very enthusiastic who passed them to the MD who was heading to Italy for a conference and was meeting Vibram representatives. Vibram confirmed it could be done and the boots were returned to Key Cobbler and a set of Vibram soles firmly attached. The boots were also polished up like new! They have just been returned to me as there was a breakdown in communications, but they came in at £30 less than quoted including post. Just got them back and I am over the moon at the quality. No more wet feet on the bike and a proper m/c boot to protect my feet in the event of a spill. Well done Chris and team. I'll be back.

Key Cobbler are not only as close to genius as you can get ( elves aside) they are skilled, innovative and extremely proud of their work. An absolute must if you have pair of old loved walking boots trainers, running shoes, Jimmy choos, Docs, Solovair s..you name it. Super service and amazing workmanship. They take ' souls' to new level.

I took my 30 year old Han Wag walkinh boots in to find the midsole had degraded. The solution was to have the boots (the uppers were still in excellent condition) resoled with the new Vibram Sniper sole unit. The boots were repaired expertly and should give me at least another 10 years of service. I only had a week to wait and am very impressed with the work. Thanks!

Over the past two months I’ve had two pairs of old boots brought back to life by the Key Cobbler. One pair fitted with vibram soles and the other with Itshide Commando soles. The quality of workmanship is first class and I have no hesitation in recommending to others. The ordering website is intuitive and straightforward and pricing is competitive.

Speedy repair service, great price and a quality re-sole of my Wife's DM sandals. The complimentary Kendal mint cake was a lovely touch.

This is the third time is used them (twice before for some doc marten boots some replacements which were very good), and sent two pairs of shoes for repair. One pair came back and were good, second pair they'd cut too much off the rear of the shoes and to compound the problem the amount revived was different between the shoes this making them unwearable. And I didn't read the small point about having two weeks to return them.

Took my expensive Scarpa boots back to the shop where I bought them as the side stitching had come out and they were letting in water. But no joy - they were past their warranty. Thought about complaining to Scarpa but imagined I'd be on a hiding to nothing. Then someone suggested I try a cobbler. I was actually surprised to even find a proper old fashioned cobbler in this day and age.
The Key Cobbler in Kendal said he could certainly fix my boots if I left them with him for a few hours. Imagine my joy when I went to collect them and they were good as new! No more wet feet.
This is a friendly, human services where you get to talk to a real person. So refreshing. The Cobbler was properly helpful, and you can tell by how busy the shop is that is that he runs a great business. Totally recommend for your walking boot repairs!

The Key Cobbler in Kendal has an established service repairing Dr Martens. I recently paid them a visit (driving up from South Manchester) because I had a pair of Dr Martens chukka boots that required a new sole. Unfortunately these boots were wider than the standard replacement soles, therefore the cobbler suggested an alternative solution. I received the repaired boots in the post yesterday & I couldn’t be more pleased with them. The new innovative soles look brilliant & I’m so happy my boots have been rescued!! I would highly recommend this skilled cobbler to anyone.
