We have nothing but great things to say. Our daughter has flourished is both ability and confidence since attending kip mcgrath. We previously had a private tutor, but the quality of teaching here is far superior. We've used this service for a couple of years now. The staff are so lovely and nurturing. 10/10 from us

I would like to pass on my thanks to the team here & in particular to Mylo's tutor Paul Costelo who has been an excellent help to him.
Hopefully Mylo will be able to achieve the grade he requires when marking is completed in January, if not I will certainly be re-enoling him for more tuition should he have to resit once more in May.

Absolutely shocking and dynamic text: extortionate behavior from this centre. My son was sick, and they refused to refund or credit the 5 lessons we already paid for. We decided to leave because of this. Guess what? 5 weeks later, they had the audacity to email me demanding another £192! Disgusting customer service and zero empathy for sick children. Avoid this place at all costs!"Awful

My lad had been struggling with his maths. The class environment was too rushed for him to really get to grips with much. I managed to convince him to have a tutor ( by comparing it to his 121 coaching for football!) Anyway, he's made some good progress and finds maths in school less stressful.

My daughter received English tutoring in the build up to her GCSE's from Kip McGrath in Gosforth/Newcastle - she found the sessions really helpful and achieved a grade 7. Special shout out to Paul for his guidance and support! Thank you!

We have been absolutely delighted with the progress our daughter has made since starting private maths lessons at Kip McGrath. Not only have her maths skills improved, but we have seen such a noticeable difference in her confidence and attitude towards maths too.

The tutors are incredibly kind, patient and supportive. They genuinely take the time to understand where she needs help and explain things in a way that makes sense to her, without ever making her feel pressured or uncomfortable. It is lovely to see her becoming more confident in herself and her abilities.

WARNING TO PARENTS AND TUTORS: Kip McGrath is a corporate shield with zero accountability
Do not trust this brand. Kip McGrath is nothing more than a predatory multinational corporation that bought a well-known name solely to extract money from families while refusing to provide an ounce of customer care or corporate responsibility.
My experience exposes the disgusting reality of how they treat paying customers and their own franchise owners.
They make it exhausting to lodge a formal complaint. Over the phone, they refused to help and gave me a convoluted email address just to stall for time and protect themselves.
There is an absolute lack of transparency. They have been actively withholding my money for services that were never delivered, refusing to provide a clear financial audit of payments versus sessions.
On top of this financial opacity, there were multiple last-minute cancellations of classes due to unacceptable excuses like extreme heat or car breakdowns, alongside a unilateral switch to online tuition without my consent.
When you finally try to resolve these disruptions and overcharges, the UK Support Office does nothing.
They spend months making hollow excuses and throwing all the blame onto the local franchise, claiming they have no liability for what happens under their own trademark.
In my case, the local Newport West branch abruptly closed down. Instead of stepping up to return the funds withheld under their brand name, Kip McGrath management completely washed their hands of it.
They arrogantly told me to pursue a costly private civil lawsuit against the ex-franchisee.
They happily take your money under the Kip McGrath banner, but the moment a centre goes under, they run away.
If you are a tutor or business owner working under the Kip McGrath name, take this as a serious warning. This multinational does not care about you. In a dispute, they will immediately throw the individual franchise straight into the mouth of the wolf just to keep their own corporate hands clean.
They provide zero backing when things go wrong. Local owners would be far better off going independent rather than paying massive fees to a corporate entity that will abandon them instantly at the first sign of trouble.
Kip McGrath is interested in your money and nothing else. They take your money, cancel your classes at the last minute, ignore your complaints, and deny all liability. Avoid them at all costs.

It is really good and helpful

My son had tutoring for English with Laura at Ramsbottom. He really struggled with English but she helped him improve by 2 grades in Language and Literature and he got through his GCSES and got his college place . He wouldn’t have done it without her.

Staff are really helpful, I've only been twice, but I already feel like I'm learning better, and it's really simple to follow

I am a disabled employee who has been employed by two Kip McGrath centres in Barnsley.

I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to resolve ongoing employment matters directly with the centres that employed me. When it became clear that I was getting nowhere, I felt I had no choice but to approach Kip McGrath head office and ask for some assistance.

The first time I contacted head office, I was told that the centres are independently owned franchises and that I needed to take the matter back to the centre concerned. I accepted that response and did exactly what I was told.

Unfortunately, the issues remained unresolved despite my continued attempts to deal with them directly. I therefore approached head office again, not asking them to take over the dispute, but simply asking for some assistance or input in the hope that matters could be resolved without further formal escalation.

This time, I have simply been ignored.

What makes this particularly disappointing is that, throughout my employment, it was very apparent that Kip McGrath head office was available to franchise owners when they required advice or support, including in relation to serious matters arising within their centres.

I completely understand the franchise model and that individual centres are independently owned. However, Kip McGrath is an international brand. The employees working within its franchises teach under the Kip McGrath name, represent that brand to children and families, and contribute directly to its success.

My experience has left me with the distinct impression that head office is there to support its franchise owners, but when an employee working under the Kip McGrath name asks for help, there is very little interest.

I wasn't asking head office to solve everything for me. I was asking a large international organisation for a small amount of assistance in trying to resolve a difficult situation.

Being completely ignored is incredibly disappointing.

Kip McGrath Leyland was incredible at building confidence and helping my daughter to pass maths and I would recommend it to anyone.

A huge thank you to the Heckmondwike team for getting my son through his GCSEs.

Revision practice was excellent and support really well delivered.

My son had a free trial booked in at a Bedford centre for a in person session, we weren’t able to find the building straight away so I called the number that had been given to me on the text reminding me of his appointment.. I called twice they cut me off both times and then someone messaged me off that number and said can I call you back later!! So I proceeded to message and say (to double check) and say is this the Kip McGrath contact number they messaged and said “yes, thank you 🙏🏻” so I called back again they kept cutting me off.. during this time we find the building that has a doorbell for Kip McGrath so I pressed that multiple times and was waiting outside for approx 15 minutes.. no one came down, that person kept cutting me off and know one has called me in regards to the appointment. I will be going with another company, I would not recommend this company to any other parents, customer service is terrible and I have never dealt with a company quite like it.

Absolutely brilliant teachers , my son got two grades higher than predicted on his GCSEs thanks to Michael and the staff at Kip McGrath … highly recommended especially for year 11 students

The place is horrible They don't teach you they just sit there and wait until you need help and the creat lessons where you need help the most So they just give you a bunch of questions and make you answer them you have to phsicly ask for help

My son really enjoys attending English and maths lesson. He feels very supported and challenged in the right way.

He has really excelled whilst attending Kip.

The assessment we had with Amy was excellent she really understood what support we wanted for our son and could see his potential and how tutoring would support him.
