Terrible service. After reaching out for help and going through a drawn out process of endless personal questions over the phone "to reach the criteria" I was told my problems are too much to avail of... Mehr ansehen
Since AXA took over they have been absolutely dreadful. Pure money making machine. Can get tru. I hope the owners sleep well because health is last on their agenda
I did notice a pretty substantial increase in cost on month health cover, not good to see but I know everything is going up. However I wanted to review my plan and spoke to Mike in there customer serv... Mehr ansehen

Unable to get refund for my premium
Unable to get refund for my premium. Changed our policy 16th Dec as it had risen by more than €1k each year for the past three years. Explained to us on the phone at that time that the New Year payments had already been sent to the Bank for processing, but that we'd get immediate refund. Payment debited 9th Jan.
Rang last week (14th) to be told refund would be applied Fri (16th). After no sign, rang yesterday to be told authorisation happened Mon (19th) and payment went for immediate processing. Now Wed (21st) and no sign of it.
Someone is telling lies! Can you really trust a company that doesn't do immediate refunds?
Customer friendly company
I have generally found Laya to be good at customer service and reasonably prompt payers for claims.
They are not perfect, but significantly better than their competitors in the marketplace.
The plan I am on is reasonable value for money.
They answer the phone within a reasonable time period of dialling their number, and the staff are very helpful and obliging. And their APP works.
Beware people suffering with PBC disease
Absolute shame on Laya for being the only healthcare provider not covering Fibroscan for their customers suffering with PBC disease. Price of their premiums paid to not cover a scan for people suffering with a chronic illness it just not justifiable. Shame on you Laya

Left on hold for 30 mins. Impossible to get through to talk to an actual person.

I went to Little Island Clinic today having a a scan of Achillies Tendon in Late November. My GP felt I might need to have my foot immobilised...I handed my GP letter to receptionist who showed it to somebody and returned and told me "Go to CUH outpatients....I never got past reception....I at least thought a doctor might see me...I am a member of Laya for many years...I did not expect this treatment....very poor!!

Impossible to get a real person on the phone and I emailed several times for a copy of my ultrasound which I didn't recoeve
Lost out on thousands of euro in…
Lost out on thousands of euro in expenses I couldn't claim back because the outpatient limit was per family not per individual and this was not explained to me at all despite detailed conversations with customer service. Also they determine how much a practitioner "should" charge and only pay you back based on that! Avoid.
Read the small print before signing up
Read your health care plan through before committing.
It gives the impression everything is covered.
Sounds Great.
Online consultations.
Clinic Attendance.
Physiotherapy ect.
But realistically everything is thrown in the one pot.
Two years in a row I've found that I'm not covered for day to day expenses the last few months of the year .
As people have mentioned really hard to get through to talk to anyone.
Phone time wasters
OMG.
How they like to waste your time on the phone. repeating themselves over and over just so to get you to hang up.
Also the corporate offers are only half as good as other companies.

Visited Little Island Clinic recently with my husband, we were treated very efficiently and met a doctor Mohammad you was absolutely outstanding, his care and attention to my husband was second to none and we were very grateful to him for his diligence and kindness

Laya refused to provide full T&Cs doc before I sign up. Is it normal now to buy a product without having all information about it????
Awful insurance what a waste of money
Awful insurance what a waste of money, I am paying dear price for myself and my son and now even for the GP there is the excess? What a joke..
Discriminatory towards women Healthcare / maternity
I have been on a top tier policy with my family for years and they refused to pay for my emergency c section even though it's covered by my policy. They claim they don't see a reason for necessity. I'm assuming they wanted my husband to cut me open in the living room instead to deliver the baby?
If this were any other major abdominal surgery but not child birth there for sure would not have been any issues.
I'm in process of appealing this the second time now but want to warn others and especially women to stay away from this insurer. It's awful what they let you go through and what they tell you. We were planning on another child and I'm scared to use the insurance that I pay so many thousand euros a year for to cover my bills and probably have to go public.
Absolutely devastating.
Awful Customer Service
I have sent several emails, and been on hold called several times to get policy cancelled, without any luck. I have now been on hold on most recent call for 31mins without any resolution!
Claim taking forever to be processed
The worst company I have ever had the…
The worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with on the phone, appalling service, refuse to take payment over the phone for bosses insurance. My 5 children are intending getting insurance, I have told them not to touch this joke of a company. Just because this company changed its name from Quinn direct to Laya, it is rotten to the core. Boycott this terrible company . I will be telling every one I know about the appalling service . I am glad I am not with them and never will be
Prescribed completly wrong medicine…
Prescribed completly wrong medicine which would means the doctors arent profesional or theyre prescribing medicine just to get a % . Ended up needing surgery because the condition worsened dramatically. It couldve all been avoided if they were profesional enough to treat me right. Stay away from the Indian doctor in the Carrickmines clinic in dublin.
Laya coverage is rubbish.
Laya coverage is rubbish.
I live in Letterkenny, Donegal.
I need a ct scan of both hips.
If i go to Ballykelly, Laya will only pay for one hip.
But if I go to Galway or Dublin, they will pay for both hips.
They dont have a centre North of the Galway-Dublin line.
So 400€ (on pension) or a 3 or 4 hr trip. I wonder which shall it be.
Laya Healthcare Cherrywood
I had a scan out in Cherrywood and the technician (I think that's what they are called!!) couldn't have been nicer, she instantly put me at ease, had a very caring & kind manner and carried out the check as effortlessly as possible.
It’s useless?
Came into hospital at 4am after fractured my left hip, pays for Laya healthcare’s and stayed all day in medical rehab, apparently I’m paying for something I’m not getting.
It was ultimately the discharge management who sort this out. On a hard trolly all day, having to ask for assistance to move, as pain was so bad. Definitely going to save some money next year
