We partnered with The Leaders Institute for their Build-A-Bike experience, and it was truly a highlight of our event.
The activity struck the perfect balance between high energy engagement and meaningful impact. Our attendees loved walking into the room with music playing, which immediately set a fun and upbeat tone. The ice breaker activity helped teams connect quickly and created great momentum from the start.
Debbie Brunet was an exceptional facilitator. She brought enthusiasm, clarity, and just the right level of challenge to keep everyone involved and energized throughout the session. Her guidance encouraged creativity, especially during the team name, logo design, and team theme song or poem portions. It was impressive to see how quickly the groups leaned in and embraced the experience.
One of the most impactful elements was how teams had to collaborate not only within their own group but also across teams to solve challenges and earn each bike piece. That dynamic reinforced communication, problem solving, and cross functional partnership in a way that felt natural and fun.
Most importantly, giving back to a local community made the experience even more meaningful. Watching the completed bikes come together and knowing they would make a difference added a powerful emotional connection to the event.
Overall, this was a world class team building experience that combined creativity, collaboration, and community impact seamlessly. Highly recommend.
We love working with this company, they always create such fun, high energy experiences, and all for a great cause! This is a great company to work with for corporate events, especially after a long day of presentations, its a great way to get the team engaged.
Debbie was absolutely amazing! She was personable and the event so much fun! Thank you, Debbie! I look forward to working with you again soon!
Debbie is fantastic! She is extremely organized, an excellent communicator, talented, and fun to work with. This is our second year working with The Leadership Institute and Debbie. The events are well thought out, meaningful, fun, and high energy. Teams walk away with new or refreshed communication and strategic skills and good fun. Thank you!
Debbie transformed our team!
She led an exciting, fun, and educational Build-a-Bike session for my team of 26. It's a wonderful program, and Debbie did a tremendous job. Would book with this team again!
SC Thrive recently participated in the Leaders Institute's Build-A-Bike team building activity and it was an outstanding experience for our entire staff. We are delighted to recommend this event to other organizations looking for a fun and engaging team-building opportunity.
Our facilitator, Damian Johnson, was truly amazing. He kept everyone's interest throughout the event with his dynamic and engaging style. His ability to connect with each participant made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable.
We were also thrilled to partner with the Salvation Army to donate six brand new bikes and helmets we built during the activity. It was a rewarding experience to contribute to such a worthy cause, and we look forward to partnering with the Salvation Army again in the future.
I also want to shout out to Kelsey Greenwood for helping set up the event. Her communication from when we reached out to after the event ended was perfect. Both Damian and Kelsey were extremely helpful and were able to answer all my pre-event questions.
Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the Leaders Institute and look forward to utilizing their services for another team-building event in the future.
Leslie was amazing!! We had a team event of around 40 people, and it was so much fun! Highly recommend!!
Damian Johnson is what made our experience great. Damian is the best facilitator I've come across in a long time. The way he engages the audience and keeps everyone on their toes literally made for a fun team building exercise.
Our team is still talking about the event from last week. This lets me know that Damian provided an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this experience to other companies.
Debbie Brunet did a great job of leading our Build-a-bike team builder this week in Sonoma. She was very well prepared for the event and provided a great team project that inspires collaboration on a team. Communication up and through the even was excellent. The event really helped newer team members learn more about their peers and how to work together.
I highly recommend this event for your next Off-site meeting and if you are in the Sonoma area, ask for Debbie Brunet.
Sincerely,
Rodney Brown

We worked with The Leaders Institute to craft a full-day workshop for our leadership team. Damian Johnson was our workshop facilitator and he was dynamic, intuitive, engaging, and well educated in leadership techniques. The event was fully interactive and kept our team focused throughout. I recommend The Leaders Institute for a meaningful way to invest in your team.
From the beginning, Chris was great to work with, providing all the information I needed to decide which event to select for my team.
Debbie was assigned to facilitate our event. She was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend anyone looking for a fun team building event. We chose Build a bike which was a great choice and for a good cause.
The Leaders Institute was easy to contract with and the event was a great success! Amy Maybury was our Amazing event instructor!! She got everyone engaged and made it a fun team building event. We did a meeting survey and the feedback on the Build-A-Bike event was even more positive than we had hoped for. It was the highlight of our 4-day meeting for several meeting attendees. They enjoyed getting to work in groups with people that they do not usually get to spend time with and getting to see the kids get the bikes put a smile in everyone's heart!
We gave the kids drawstring bags filled with markers, colored pencils, colored gel pens, journals, activity books, yo-yo, Rubik's Cube, water bottle, and stickers. We had a snack station with cotton candy and warm funnel cakes to make it special while they waited for the bikes to be built. Amy's enthusiasm got the group of 85 people competing, cheering and building bonds while building bikes!
We had two groups come together as our company created a new business unit. In coming together there was hesitation to connect and build trust. The Build A Bike/Build A Team activity was exactly what was needed. The smiles and laughter were contageous. The way the teams were created was brilliant. They were engaged and, in the end, proud of what they did together...as a TEAM!
We had the opportunity to work with Damian for a Fearless Presentation session. He was energetic, engaging and created a supportive environment. I found his feedback insightful and actionable.
Damian Johnson is the best coach I have ever met! His professionalism paired with patience and humor made his presentation class super effective as well as interesting. I was able to learn a lot within a short period of time. I would strongly recommend his class to any individual or institution that needs training on presentation.
The whole experience was great but what really made things special was being able to engage and interact as a team prior to the bike building actually kicking off. Highly recommend to anyone looking to create team unity while giving back.
Amy was amazing! She was so professional, very high energy and was able to command the crowd easily. Everyone enjoyed their time building bikes and was so happy to give back to kids in need. Thank you, Amy!
Laura did a great job facilitating this team building event. Her energy and enthusiasm was contagious and made the event very fun.

Damian was a fantastic facilitator! We did a Build A Bike event with 200 participants. We enjoyed how Damian was able to hold focus, engage everyone and still tie in our theme of becoming "One Team"! The highlight of the night, was when we were able to bring in the children from the Salvation Boys and Girls club and present them with 26 new bikes. Such a feel good experience!
