Horrendous experience.
After travelling approximately 1,500 km from Johannesburg to Cape Town with my family, we arrived at Canal Quays Unit 708 expecting the apartment that was advertised through LekkeSlaap and managed by Sought After Property Management. What we found was completely unacceptable.
The apartment was not in the condition shown in the advertising photos. There were holes and dampness in the ceiling above the main bedroom, mould and dampness in the bathroom, broken blinds throughout the apartment that could not close, missing kitchen chairs, and a general lack of cleanliness.
The maintenance issues were extensive:
• Both air conditioners were not working.
• The TV was not working.
• The main bathroom had a continuous water leak from within the wall plumbing.
• The second bathroom tap would not remain open unless physically held in position.
• Various fixtures and fittings were damaged or defective.
What was most concerning was being informed by the host’s representative that management was already aware of many of these issues, yet the apartment remained available for booking.
Communication was extremely poor. We attempted to contact the host through LekkeSlaap before arrival and received no meaningful response. After reporting the issues upon arrival, more than 18 hours passed without a satisfactory resolution. The alternative accommodation offered was either not comparable or would have required our family of four to be split into separate rooms in a different location.
Our family holiday started with stress, wasted time, missed plans and unnecessary expense instead of the experience we paid for.
The location and views may be good, but unfortunately the condition of the apartment and the handling of the situation made this one of the worst accommodation experiences we have had.

Don't trust them
We booked and paid for one night in Langebaan. The next day we received a cancellation notice. This forced me to book alternative accommodation. Two days later I get a confirmation that our accommodation is now available again. I explained to the landlord and the customer service agent that due to their cancellation I had to reserve alternative accommodation. They just stick to some technical booking system rule and is only paying back 50% of my deposit. Amazing how they could cancel and not pay back the full deposit. Don't trust them with nothing!

Lekkerslaap is awesome until you need a full refund
Lekkerslaap is awesome until you need a full refund. I couldn't go on holiday in Robertson in May 2026 due to the rains that destroyed roads, the owner agreed that I could get a full refund. I have been emailing and phoning back and forth with Lekkerslaap for over a month now. I either get "I will follow up with the accounts department" or they send me proof of payment of the refunds. I received ONE of the two refunds. Apparently the refunds were both successful BUT I only received one. They have given me all the reference numbers of their bank BUT my bank doesn't recognize any of them. I have also provided my bank statement twice proving that I have not received the second refund. Is anyone actually going to investigate this issue???
