Linewise shows teachers a live view of student's devices, including at home. This is not a firewall, it remote desktop, that you can't turn off.

I have linewize as a student and it blocked my emails and my clickview when I need clickview.
Second Review About Linewize
It is evil. It blocked microsoft store so i can't update my minecraft edu or horse academy im a Reach Cyber student in 7th grade about to be in 8th in september and need to have things up to date (im 13 btw) and it does not help that stuff i need is blocked like i said in my first review. I 100% agree with everyone else saying linewize should not have the stuff it has and should not block games or school stuff given to students by teachers. Worst of all the video and photo filter blur thing blurs youtube videos that are legit safe! linewize should be banned due to it blocking safe apps and sites and games!
(5 STAR ONLY SO PPL SEE)

the guy who made thiss napp should lowkirkuinley deep fry himself
It is Horrible and not great for us
I do not like how i want to play educational games that get block within a second i click it i tried playing a unblocked website I've never played before and then Linewize decides to block it without looking. It is very Disappointing to see how they ruin people's moods in a very bad way and cause power outages and make administrators to pay big amounts of money for it.
its counter productive
it causes students to spend vast amounts of time attempting to get around it. occasionally blocks required content. builds a system of distrust within the school community. like you expect students and teachers to trust each other when there is constant one- sided surveillance especially at private schools where students family's must pay upwards of $15000 AUD annually.
linewize sucks
linewize sucks. linewize blocks my favorite website Scratch.mit.edu (scratch is MADE FOR KIDS btw.) also not to mention its spyware and the moderation sucks.
generally I use a teacher account, and then linewize is somehow magically never there and I can play happy wheels and crazygames (including shooting and violence) like the filter was never there. everytime my classmates found a new fun website, it was blocked within a day just about. overall rating: -1. should this application be deleted? yes.
its horible
its horible my teachers and fake teachers abuse it its the linewize merchants delete this thing
The Worst Blocking System I Have Ever Seen
It cut out the words worship, world, and Mormonism out of a youtube video. I guess it DID blur out someone getting killed...IN MINECRAFT! But it didn't blur out a pic
of the civil war, I am 12 btw, so that scarred me. It blocks necessary and educational sites like: Scratch, Google (Yes, I am not joking), CoolMathGames, IT IS A NIGHTMARE DO NOT INSTALL!
Linewize is stupid it blocked the…
Linewize is stupid it blocked the educational websites and no games first blocksi now linewize all ruining all our lives
It is literal spyware and never turns off.
It is literal spyware and never turns off even at home on school issued devices. I personally researched Linewize for an argumentative essay and searching the work 'Linewize' was blocked.
I still wrote the essay by searching 'Linewiz' which isn't block for some reason. Yes, I am a debate kid. Also, while writing another essay about the Amplify Curriculum (Which is awful) my teacher, using Linewize, read the entire essay and got angry at me for using a screenshot from the Amplify Curriculum.
Here are some of my sources if anyone wants more info (One of these sources is Linewize stating that Linewize Filter does not turn off at home)
Kelley, Jason. “How GoGuardian Invades Student Privacy.” Electronic Frontier Foundation, 15 Nov. 2023, (Can't put link because trustpilot won't let me) - EFF stated 'Consider any school issued device a spying tool' and their statements on GoGuardian were logically extended to Linewize.
“Student Behavior Report in Linewize Filter.” Linewize Filter, (Can't put link because trustpilot won't let me)
Linewize. “Creating School Communities Where Students Thrive | Linewize.” Linewize, (Can't put link because trustpilot won't let me)
it is terrlible
it absolutely sucks. ruins the whole experience.
Omnipresent patch of broken technology
Here's a tip: DO NOT INSTALL IT!
First, it blocks a lot of useful sites like EDUCATIONAL games. It also blocks AI indiscriminately.
Next, when this extension was active, it used over 2.6 G of memory, which made my computer freeze and work at 0.02 FPS. No sites will load during that phase.
Finally, this extension also allows parents to see your browsing activity, which they CERTAINLY don't need to see.
-----
Simple overview:
-Blocks useful sites
-Slow downs computer significantly
-Silently reports browsing activity
-----
Edit: When I visit a blocked site (which is pretty much every time and every site, including embedded frames and APIs) it sends my parents a message. This app is creepy
Edit2: When I searched up "Prompt injection" it sent email to my parents. TSPMO

this stupid program gave me aids and hepatitis and heart disease. it made me get into 5 different altercations pay my med bills plssss
blocks things that are NECESSARY
blocks things that are NECESSARY
literally teachers have to work around things such as videos needed for lessons being blocked from policies by making you download them onto your device to see them. don't forget the part where it's literal Spyware either
Litteral spyware
The only thing it does is make teachers have full control over the apps that you are using to block your internet and if they forget you are permanently banned from the internet and if you google basicly anything it gets blocked
I mean its not the best way of protecting kids.
I mean its not the best way of protecting kids i mean people after middle school should know to not talk to random people online so 2 stars to the wost but also not the best.
Bad for Education
This application has apparently decided that anything and everything related to the Toronto Jazz Festival is inherently evil. That's how bad the filtering is.
Need I say more?
It's too late for me to write a full review.
Real Date of experience: Most of my life
I hate it as a k12 student
It kept blocking roblox even it's not a THREAT!
This gave me cancer
