Two Kudos and a Gripe
First of all, I’m incredibly pleased that someone (Team Lomi in this case) is doing something constructive about all of the organic waste that would otherwise accumulate in our kitchens. By returning the carbon to our soils and keeping it out of sanitary landfills, you bring us a long way toward minimizing methane production in our atmosphere. Kudos, Team Lomi!
Next I’d like to thank you for building a Lomi that even my wife can love. She thought my Lomi1 was too noisy and smelly to be used indoors. The new one (Lomi3) is so unobtrusive as to be overlooked a lot of the time. Its compact new size is a definite plus.
Finally (and this is what brought your score down from a five to a four), I was disappointed that you eliminated the Lomi Approved cycle. I had cut up all the scraps of packaging from my old Grow Tabs and charcoal pellets to make them more palatable for O’Homie, only to discover that I couldn’t feed them to him. One big step backwards for pela dot earth.

Fantastic Customer Service
I’ve owned my Lomi for over two years and use it about twice a week. When an error light appeared, I reached out to customer support.
Their response was quick, the solution was explained clearly in simple, easy-to-follow steps, and they even appreciated my sense of humour. Great customer service all around.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! BUYER BEWARE. We purchased a Lomi 2 one year ago and paid over $400 including a three year warranty. The unit started to leak about one month ago and Lomi requested that we change the filters and send them videos of the unit operating. We did what was asked of us.
They offered to replace our unit, but NOT in the color white that we need. They only have other colors in that model that will not look appropriate as we leave it out permanently on our countertop.
We asked them to replace our unit with the Lomi 3 in white which they declined to do. They want us to pay another $325 out of pocket.
The extended warranty is a SCAM. What is the point of offering it if you won’t honor it with a like kind unit? Of course color is important when it sits out on the countertop. This is NOT FAIR and we are so disappointed in Lomi customer service.

They do not make it easy to cancel their automatic filter replacement subscription.
The cost of their pelleted activated carbon is more than 9x more costly than what I can get online. I tried to cancel the automated Subscription in March 2025, sent email then. They acknowledged my request by responding by email where they attempted to convince me that I would lose warranty. At that point I didn't care. I had received 3 shipments $60 US translating into avg cost $90 Cdn. They charged me again Sep 6 /25 for yet another shipment. I sent them another email; they acknowledged receipt ... and once again talked about the benefits I would forfeiting.
I finally found a link (25 minutes later) where I THINK I have "Formally" been able to cancel. The email request should have been enough.
Really think a class action lawsuit should be started.

After waiting over 48 hours with ZERO response from your so-called “support,” I returned the product to Costco—because unlike you, they actually care about customers. Frankly, this is the worst excuse for a company I’ve ever seen. No phone number, no working ticket system, no accountability—nothing but a disgrace.
Costco should cut ties with you permanently, because no serious retailer should associate with a company that treats customers like garbage. Your incompetence is beyond embarrassing—it’s total FAILURE. Believe me, people are talking, and everyone knows it.
Lomi is a loved kitchen gadget!
Lomi is a great kitchen gadget for me - as I want to compost food waste, but cannot do it outdoors because of the bears and raccoons - I would prefer they stayed away from the house.
I had an initial learning curve - getting the lid on and off - but now I literally do it in my sleep. Lomi controls the nasty odours, wet plastic bags, overflowing kitchen compost storage. For those who complain that "it isn't really compost" - I disagree. While the fast program is just 'grind an dry', the slow program supplemented with a bacterial starter is bacterially digested. Like any yogurt, sourdough etc - it gets a starter and then the bugs chew what they can. Input defines output. The output is easy to handle, spread on plants (they love it) and not disgusting. What I really want to commend the company for is their customer service. I had one of the original Lomis - I managed to kill the motor. They replaced the entire machine in a week. This time I managed to shear the grinder vanes off. I'm getting a new free bucket as fast as Canada Post gets it here. The CS associate was kind, friendly and efficient. What more can one ask for??? As for the subscription - a friendly email asking them to send the stuff less frequently - did the trick... they now check with me, then send the good stuff if I need it. I'm a happy camper.
Faulty machine; dreadful customer service
Product initially worked but then began to overheat, creating charred contents. That’s bad but customer service is worse. Basically they gave me the run-around. First it’s my fault for putting the wrong material in it (wrong! As I explained I follow their produced to the letter). Then asking me to see if the paddles turn (they do). Now advising me to clean the bucket (which I do already). Seems they will do anything except fix the problem. Avoid!

Then...I tried it one time and it didn't work!
I tried everything to get it fixed...no luck.
I emailed them...and after a while they did exchange it. However, I don't know if it's refurbished. And it looks like it's not the correct color.
Now...I can't find a shipping tracking or any info on my replacement. So it's been weeks trying to just do some composting...no one is responding and No Phone Number!
Lomi Scam
It's a scam - the concept is great, but it smells terrible and after a few months the unit started malfunctioning. Instead of giving us a new unit they sent refurbished units that also failed after a few weeks.
Good luck canceling the subscription and they won't accept returns, even if they're unopened.
Don't buy it, trust me. We're at a point where we're going to have to dispute the charge if this 3rd attempt to cancel doesn't work.
Really disappointed and frustrated becuase we wanted it to work.
Total scam with no support
Total scam with no support. The machine does not do all they say, the subscription is a total cash grab scam. They now have horrid customer support and service. Used to be good a year to two ago. Now it takes over a week to get a reply and they don't help just want you to buy more and blame you if it's not working.

The subscription scam is infuriating.
You spend hundreds of dollars on a composter and they send you "free" charcoal filters. But using the payment method you bought the unit, they charge that payment method $120 for filters that you don't really need without you having a choice. The account site is a scam because you have no way of canceling your subscription. This is a scam 😡
My Lomi is now in a landfill.
The Lomi composter worked for 22 months. Then died. I used it normally during the winter months only. It probably ran 100 times. Now it won't turn on.
Reached out to the company they suggested I buy a new one or purchase a subscription?
Would not recommend to purchase. Too expensive for a product that doesn't last 2 years.
Now it is in a landifll. Kinda goes against the priciples of the product to start off with.

Subscription pirate! I am beyond frustrated with their cancellation process—it is intentionally difficult, misleading, and predatory. While I initially loved the product and recommended it to others, this shady subscription model has completely changed my view.
DO NOT BUY!!!
My machine has never worked right. It doesn't create the soil they tell you it will. It's sticky and I spend days trying to clean the bucket. I only put in what they say to and the recommended amounts and it still comes out unusable. Waste of money. I signed up on kickstarter and I regret it. Customer service was zero help. They manipulated me into staying signed up for the subscription refills and neglected to tell me I would need to spend over $1000 to get the new machine replacement. This company is corrupt and I do not recommend. They will steal your money like they've stolen mine. I cannot wait to throw my machine in the dump where it will never decompose and I bet they don't even care.

I received a Lomi 2 January 22 ,2025. It would not connect to WiFi and would not allow cycle changes. I tried to read FAQs and tried everything I could, but needed a person. I emailed on the site and got an automatic response that they would contact me in 72hrs. I continued to send emails and even found a telephone number today. There was a message that said to go to the website. I have not heard a word from them. I stopped payment on my CC. If their service is like this, I do not want the unit. I have had it only for 13 days and trouble began on day one.
ZERO customer service
I own 2 Lomi 11 composters and also signed up for the auto delivery on charcoal filters. One of my Lomi 11 composters started making a loud noise. You can only email the company…the online chat has been down forever…I sent an email and it said I’d receive a response within 72 hours..it now been 2 weeks and after 8 more emails I got an email asking to send a video of the composter running without the bucket. I responding immediately… here I am 4 days later an no response. There’s absolutely no way to reach anyone by phone. I’ve never had customer service this bad.
