I booked a Solo Birthday Trip to Cartagena, Colombia with Luxe Tribe. My experience was truly memorable and thoughtfully curated from start to finish. As someone who values both structure and authenticity while traveling, this trip delivered a great balance of both. The curated itinerary was well-organized, offering a mix of engaging activities, cultural experiences, sightseeing and time to explore and unwind.

What stood out most was the sense of community and connection fostered throughout the trip. Traveling with a group of solo individuals I didn’t know initially could have been intimidating, but the environment created made it easy to feel comfortable and welcomed. The hosts in Colombia, especially Astrid Tatis and Ami, brought a level of warmth, care, and genuine hospitality that elevated the entire experience. Their local insight and attention to detail made the trip feel authentic and personable - rather than just another group tourist experience.

The food, excursions, capture of culture and overall planning were excellent. From rooftop cooking classes with a private chef, salsa dancing class, to moments of relaxation - the trip allowed me to fully immerse myself in the destination’s culture, scenery, and energy. Thoughtful touches—like welcome souvenirs upon arrival—did not go unnoticed and added to the overall experience.

While there are a few areas that could be enhanced, such as clearer arrival coordination, or smoother departure logistics, these were minor in comparison to the overall quality of the trip.

This experience pushed me outside of my comfort zone in the best way. As my first solo trip within a group setting, it gave me the confidence to continue exploring the world more independently while still valuing the connections made along the way.

Overall, Luxe Tribe provided a beautiful, well-rounded travel experience that I would recommend to anyone looking to combine adventure, culture, and community. I’m grateful for the memories created and look forward to traveling again in with Luxe Tribe in the future.

Due to the bombing in Iran and airport closures, all airlines cancelled their flights through those airports. Luxe tribes refused to refund and offered 50% credit towards future trips!! It was $5k for two people!! Luckily I disputed it through my bank because Luxe tribes stopped responding to 4 emails. Never using them again.

The experience with Luxe tribes was outstanding and it definitely helped due to the guides and drivers we were assigned to at our destination. There were some hiccups and activities that didn’t go as planned but the guide tried his best to turn situations around on his own. Overall using the app and communicating with Gabriel via email was easy and it was great.

The details were coordinated well, however the price could have been more reasonable.

We recently returned from a private trip to Senegal and The Gambia through Luxe Tribes, two amazing countries with beautiful people.

Luxe Tribe Overall Perspective: My overall feedback for Luxe Tribes comes down to communication and consistency. I was initially challenged by the app and website, but the Luxe Tribes agent greatly improved the regular communication and clarity to aid our large group of travelers with varied global experiences.

On Location: Our guides, Sheikh Omar and Blaise, were consummate professionals. We were blessed to have them as true Gambians, along with a fellow traveler who knew the local language, Wolof, and understood French. When challenges arose, they managed what they could and apologized for any mistakes they could not fix. This made the trip so comfortable and safe.
One Suggestion: to consider bringing future travelers to Saly, Senegal, first! I would encourage our agent, Gabriel, and the tour guides to consider beginning future travels to this location at the start. While this would have been a challenging switch due to the Eid Holiday, I believe the travelers would have gotten a restful start and still could end the trip in Dakar, Senegal!
The Accommodations: the sites booked for us were wonderful, and the local guides were knowledgeable, attentive, and went above and beyond to care for us. There were a few logistical and day-to-day communication hiccups that come with travel in general.
The Hotel Royam (Saly, Senegal) was spectacular, family-focused, and very unique. We had the comforts of a 5-star site and the beauty of a true local space. Also, the artisan markets were more authentic and with less aggressive vendors. We felt at ease, and so many options were open for us in the area that many of us felt we could stay there for the entire time!
The Coco Beach Resort & Spa (The Gambia) was arranged by Luxe Tribes and our Guide, Sheikh Omar! It was like a page out of Casablanca and Morocco, with amazing architecture, a beautiful beach, and a top-notch staff of proud Gambians! I adored this site, and thank our guides and Luxe Tribe for selecting such a visually distinctive space!

We had amazing experiences at all the other sites in The Gambia, and throughout Dakar, Senegal, where we toured the impactful historical sites so important to us as Africans in the Diaspora. The excursions planned were so much fun, with safety and history woven through them all! Walking with Lions and Seeing Crocodiles up close will never be forgotten. This was a trip like no other I have ever had!!

Overall, I would definitely recommend Luxe Tribes to my friends and family as a solid traveling company specializing in unique private trips.

My daughters’s planned my first overseas trip last year to Paris and our Gabriel our travel planner with Luxe Tribes’s had everything in order from pickup at the airport, tours, and hotel accommodations. We had such a great time that I decided to join my daughter to travel to London. Once again with Gabriel’s help with our accommodations, Afternoon Tea on the Thames, guided tours at the Tate and our Brixton walking tour was excellent. I will definitely use Luxe Tribes again for my next overseas trip and work with Gabriel again.

Luxe Tribes is keenly focused on the minute details that makes for a stress free experience especially for our international trip. The level of communication is outstanding and they are very responsive to questions even at the last minute during a trip. We found this to be very comforting from the time that we stepped off the plane in London until we arrived home. Our assigned guide was Gabriel and he was beyond phenomenal

I used Luxe Tribes for the second time for my Japan trip since they did such a great job with my Bali trip a couple of years ago. The service, communication and planning is amazing, the team is attentive and happily answers all your questions. Loved that I could curate an experience tailored to my interests and they took care of all the logistics. Highly recommend their services, especially for solo travel for a sense of security. Special shout out to Elisa who was my liaison for my Japan trip, she is excellent, organized and super super helpful. Thanks for another memorable trip.

This is our second time working with Gabriel on planning a trip. We were able to develop a detailed list of activities we wanted like plays and art exhibits that made our experience in London great! When we did have a miscommunication with the hotel on room the Luxe Team was able to handle everything immediately.

I enjoyed every minute of the trip. It was planned perfectly. We always had shuttle service from the airport and to the airport. We were bused around Brazil to make accommodation much easier since it was so packed for carnival. My booking queen was Louisa! She is so sweet and so helpful! And our guides were so genuine and so much fun. I met amazing women that we all are still keeping in touch with. I would recommend Luxe Tribes to anyone that wants to make it out the group chat. 10/10!

What made my experience great was getting to actually see so many places of history that I had read about or some of my friends who had traveled to a couple of these places told me about, also just connecting with my son-in-law’s families, all in all it was great our tour guides & drivers were awesome!

I loved how well organized the itinerary was for my group to follow! As a type a person it was nice having everything laid out very organized. Everyone that was booked through Luxe tribes was friendly, respectful, and or helpful. I will definitely be using this company in the future for my own trips!

I had a really good experience traveling with Luxe. Everything was well-organized, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The events on the itinerary were really fun and exciting! Most of the food was amazing but we were recommended to go to the dinner with tigers. This food at the restaurant was not good and it made me sick afterwards. Another downside was going straight to dinner right after a long flight—I was pretty exhausted and would’ve appreciated some time to wash up and rest first. Overall, it was a great trip, and I’d still recommend this group.

This was the best trip ever. My travel agent Priscilla was awesome! My driver Aris was awesome! He went above and beyond, no waiting in line and front door service. He open every door and made every effort possible to make site seeing a great experience. The private chef was very polite, dinner was timely and delicious. My stay was 15 days and 14 nights and the entire crew made sure me and my partner was safe and comfortable. Highly recommend

I'm actually somewhat surprised when reading the negative reviews because my experience was nothing like theirs. Not to take away from anyone else's experience, though, so I pray all of their situations ended up on a more positive note. Nothing in this world can be perfect but I don't believe Bali or Luxe Tribes owes me a thing!
When I originally booked through Luxe I paid a deposit for a Thailand trip but I was unable to keep it. Luxe allowed me to transfer my deposit almost two years later for a new trip to Bali. I paid my installments and I received my itinerary, from my main point of contact, on my Bali Experience team. Of course Luxe wanted proof of my commitment, with flight details...I can't blame them! I received an introduction to my whole team which included my Private Experiences Team Lead, photographer, my seamstress for the dramatic dress and my wonderful driver 😊
I had a flight delay, in my connection through Hong Kong, bc our very intelligent leader of the USA decided to set off a war, with Iran, at that very moment. My plane was set to come from Dubai so that was cancelled, of course, bc they had just been bombed (many prayers to all of those affected). My delay was around 2 hours. I communicated with my Luxe team and they were very responsive! Once I got through my very long flight and the first few moments of my jet lag I went ahead & exchanged currency for IDR. Trying to calculate that was a true mystery but my driver, Mr. Bagus, helped me out with that all throughout my trip. I was greeted by Mr. Bagus, holding the exact sign that my main point of contact sent a photo of, in her welcome message.
After leaving the airport Mr. Bagus took us to a restaurant, just off the main road, from our villa. It was decent...probably my 2nd least favorite meal from the whole trip but it wasn't terrible & the customer service was great! Everyone in Bali was lovely! My only issue with this was that my travel companion and I hoped to shower, after that 24 hour flight, prior to going to dinner. We rolled with it & all was fine!
We went to bed that night and spent the next few days following the itinerary that Luxe put together. We altered some things here and there but for the most part we enjoyed everything pre-planned for us. Our villa was amazing!!! The breakfast, they cooked, was delicious! The 1st morning we received the beautiful floating breakfast. We had the choice of an American or Indonesian breakfast and that Indonesian meal was impeccable each time!
Our massages went great! It started to rain during the hour long massage which made it all the more relaxing. The flower baths were beautiful & I have no complaints about that experience. The dramatic dress and swing was alot of fun! My only complaint with this was I wish it had taken place on the 2nd day, instead of the massage, because my hair was messed up after the massage. We had a line or "queue" for the swings but we were treated like VIP and allowed to move around to avoid the waiting. I chose not to purchase the onsite photography and waited for our private photographer (very smart decision as our pics are beautiful) The onsite photographer was too busy to give proper instructions and we just did not feel like waiting to pay additional money to be helped. The seamstress for our dresses was great & they knew what they were doing to design the dress according to our vision and to suit our figures.
We explored so many things, in Bali. These included a jewelry shop, Monkey Forest, photos & hugs with elephants, gift shop, Jungle Beach Club and the Dinner Safari. I highly recommend the Jungle, the elephants & the safari. I DO NOT recommend the actual dinner, at the Safari bc it was terrible. The performance & the animals were a great time! The elephants were so sweet & friendly...we got great pics from that experience. The monkeys & their gelato were entertaining too.
We visited the temple in the cool mountains but unbeknownst to me (I should've done more research but a heads up from Luxe would've been nice as well) it was very cold & stormy there. Hence the word "cool." I was not dressed appropriately but Mr. Bagus took care of us with his umbrellas & he kept water for us to enjoy in between activities.
I give this trip 5 stars & I highly recommend it. Bali is beautiful, peaceful and inexpensive. I truly would not mind moving there especially now since it feels like we are being sucked into WWIII (salute to our soldiers risking their lives)!
My final thought and only issue with Luxe was that I asked to have a birthday set up for my daughter prior to the trip. I didn't receive an answer until our 2nd day there and I overlooked it because we were so busy. I didn't see it until the day of her birthday. The staff at Jungle made up for it with dessert, signs & a serenade for my daughter. A time was had & memories were made! I wouldn't change much 😊

A subpar Travel company disguised as a luxury service focused on scamming $$$ when compared to actual costs of travel.
Don’t waste your money.
Budget $2,550 x2 people … $5,100.

Arrival - scheduled early flight as suggested, no airport pickup and then charged us extra to be picked up from our hotel 15 minutes from the airport. Out of pocket costs $450

Hotel checkin- while the hotel itself was a beautiful experience the travel agent Jessie reserved our accommodations through Booking.com which complicated the checkin process since all booking.com reservations require the physical card at check in, our reservation was about to be canceled and us recharged before the hotel management was able to do some additional work with the company. As a travel agent this information should already be known and the booking completed through the website directly. Booking was about $2,396 dollars for March 8-12.

Day 1 - check in
Day 2- combo volcano, La fortuna waterfall and hanging bridges *itinerary by Jessie said about 6 hours however was really going to be more than 10 we tapped out after hour 7 and had to skip the bridges due to back to back extraneous activities.
Day 3- exhausted, sore, and barely able to function we had a photo shoot that was supposed to be at 8 but started at 7:20 am. We thankfully canceled the horseback ride before leaving, and instead made our own reservations out of pocket at a spa and explored the town. They said the credit from the horseback only covered transportation 😆 a joke. It was 5 minutes from the hotel. Cooking class that night was fun, however again the itinerary and what actually happened did not align with dinner menu.
Day 4- ATV was fun! We enjoyed this but again was not aligned with itinerary as it was an atv ride and about a 30 minute 450 meter elevation hike up the mountain after we had a massage the day before our legs were dead. Baldi hot springs was pleasant but the dinner include was anything but luxury, a step above school food.
Day 5- transport back to airport and completely exhausted.

We were rushed everywhere. Through guided tours, trying to enjoy our experience, trying to catch breath 700 meters up a volcano, to getting on vehicle for transportation. Ridiculous.

They are banking almost $1,000 off of women wanting to travel per person. Save your money, rent a car and plan your own trip at your pace!

I went to Dominican Republic for my sister’s birthday, and the trip was such smooth-sailing. From our amazing meals, to the transportation, and all the great events, everything was handled and the trip went on without any problems.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Luxe Tribes. The organization was flawless, and every activity they planned was a highlight of our trip. A special thank you to our driver, Said and Zaide, who was truly wonderful—they were professional, safe, and made every journey enjoyable. Said was also our tour guide, providing deep local insight that we couldn’t have found on our own. He was the best. Chef Siham was excellent as well for the cooking class, highly recommend her! If you’re planning a trip to Morocco, do yourself a favor and book with them!

I used luxe tribes to give a sample itinerary for my 30th birthday in Bali and they did not disappoint. This year for my 33rd I went on one of their set Marrakesh, Morocco itineraries with my mom and had a ball. Elizabeth, Said, and Youssef took the most amazing care of us and made sure I enjoyed my birthday. We will be booking again soon!

Luxe Tribe made our first visit to Cape Town an unforgettable bucket list experience. Elizabeth, Joseph, Chris and Sean were the dream team of hosts. Every detail was thought of and when unexpected flight delays occurred they were quick to pivot. This was the best cultural experience we could have had, history, luxury, safari, music, dancing you name it we experienced it all.
