Solid product with friendly, helpful service
The OWC SSD drive from Macfixit was quite expensive, but after a cheaper Thunderbolt drive caused my Mac to crash, I went with this one, and I'm pleased I did. I've only had the drive a couple of weeks, but it's been plugged in 24/7 and hasn't skipped a beat. The case has a really solid feel to it, and doesn't seem to get too hot. Macfixit customer service was friendly and helpful when I communicated with them about the OWC drives. Can't fault the product or service at all.

Update - As of Oct 1st, 2021, MacFixit sent the 16 GB RAM unit. I was very unhappy at the way this was handled but I can confirm this issue is now resolved. My criticism re MacFixit advertising products it does not have stands but they have now honoured this obligation regards the RAM.

I purchased $1005 worth of RAM for my Imac from MacFixit. One of the RAM units failed. I organized for a return via Jacob and sent it back to them with a return address envelope.
I contacted them via their messaging system to advise it had been sent. They cannot be contacted by phone as they do not answer.
I followed them up a week later and they advised that they had not bothered to go to the PO Box due to COVID.
I followed them up another week later. They advised again they had not gone to the PO Box. I contacted them again and finally after around about a month, they advised that they had been to the Post Office Box but that my parcel had not arrived.
At this point, it became clear to me that they had no interest in replacing the unit.
Jacob stated they could not organize the replacement under the guarantee because the item had not arrived.
Jacob then suggested, ‘Why not purchase the replacement RAM and when the other RAM turns up we’ll rebate you.’
No honest company would try to put that on.
So now, they are claiming they never got it and will not replace it.
At the same time, I had a requirement to buy a new hard drive. I searched for this particular 10GB G Drive. No one had it. Something to do with a hard drive shortage.
MacFixit was advertising it as in stock and then I remember they did this last time, advertised something they didn’t have, took your money, then strung you out for months until they could sell off something else in its place.
I would say MacFixit is dubious, to say the least. They will take your money for stock they don’t have and if anything goes wrong with it, if they can, they will find a way NOT to honor their guarantee. I have banned them and would strongly recommend avoiding them at all costs.

I purchased an item of these guys 2 weeks ago for which i paid via paypal, as i do with just about everything.
Anyone who uses Paypal knows that your delivery address comes through with the payment.
Macfixit sent the item to the wrong address - sending it to 618 rather than 61B.
CLEARLY this is a human error, an oversight as its very easy to mistake the two.
HOWEVER, Macfixit now claims it was me who gave them the wrong address.
Funny, none of my other PayPal transactions have suffered this confusion?
What are the chances if me typing in the wrong address for a house that i have lived in for 15 years?
What are the chances that a staff member has mistaken a B for an 8? More likely?
Human error is fine but Macfix have offered no help what so ever.
They have tried to blame me for supplying the wrong address and have left it up to me to chase Australia post to retrieve this item from their black hole.
And do you know what the item is? A $15 screwdriver.
Totally pathetic "service".
I'd really hate to have to dispute these guys on anything more expensive as you'll get no empathy from them.
Dreadful service.
