Moving to a new country taught me that having strong experience is only part of the journey, knowing how to present it effectively is just as important.

Working with Maria Barden helped me understand that. She didn’t try to change my background or reshape my experience. Instead, she helped me present my skills more clearly, position my CV more effectively, and approach my job search with a much better strategy.

Although I wasn’t hired immediately, I started receiving interview invitations and responses from employers, which was a significant improvement and showed that the changes were making a real difference.

What I appreciated most was that Maria’s support went beyond CV writing. She provided valuable guidance on interview preparation, job search strategy, and identifying what might be holding my applications back.

I first connected with Maria after attending a session she delivered, and subsequently reached out to explore how her services could support me with drafting a supporting statement for a job application. I later contacted her again when I needed assistance with a second supporting statement under a very tight deadline of less than a week. Following a brief discussion to clarify my requirements, Maria produced a high-quality and well-written supporting statement within the agreed timeframe. She is highly professional, responsive, and reliable, and I would not hesitate to recommend her supporting statement writing services.

I approached Maria for help with a CV after not having any luck with applications, and was recommended by a neighbour. After an initial consultation, Maria really brought my skills and experiences to life (something that I really wasn't capturing on my CV.) Since then, due to my new CV and confidence, I have managed to interview for a few institutions, and have also managed to change from the charity sector to the Higher Education sector.

Maria is amazing, I can't recommend her work highly enough, she really gets it, you will have a conversation about the role you want, she will then ask you about all your relevant experience and be able to convert soft skills into quantifiable skill sets. She created 2 excellent CVs for me, with recommendations on how to tailor for specific roles. Once I had the CVs I immediately applied for 3 roles and got 3 callbacks, after nearly 6 months of nothing on my original CV I have no doubt it was her knowledge and expertise that got my CV infront of the right people.

Maria doesn’t just give you a professional experience, she also gives you a personal one - which is a trait I think can really go a miss when it comes to supporting individuals with their CVs. Maria allowed me to view my CV in a way I hadn’t thought about before - she helped me understand not only what the company wanted but how I was going to stand out amongst others - and I believe she succeeded in doing this because she gives you a personal experience.
