Is this against consumer law?

I ordered and bought from McDonalds. They got Uber to deliver it. Items missing and I am made to deal with uber chat who can only offer a refund for the missing items and that can take up to 15 days!

According to citizens advice ‘ Under UK consumer law, when you buy goods from a store (or online) to be delivered, the retailer is legally responsible for the items until they are physically in your possession. If items are missing from your delivery, you have a contract with the retailer, not the courier, making it the retailer's duty to fix the issue.’

Disgusting service items missing on order nobody taking responsibility

Only had 3 orders all have been wrong missing sauces on two but on the 9/04/26 our mccrispy was missing we reported it immediately on the Uber drivers app but had no response so contacted again via Uber chat who have now stated because it passed their 48hrs there nothing they can do they offered no apologies or any any compensation
This is disgraceful service when we have paid for the item
McDonald’s also need to take some responsibility for missing items as well has Uber
Will not be using this service again

Poor customer service

This evening I ordered a meal for my son which was delivered by uber.
The delivery time kept getting pushed back and when I contacted them they fobbed my off and told me I need to contact mcdelivery which I did on the app. The chat was not helpful and would not let me upload my receipt to prove that my food was delived almost an hour after it was cooked. It was cold an inedible.
The next day after I emailed mcdonalds customer service, they sent me a food voucher which still doesn't cover the cost of my original meal but I do appreciate the gesture

Ordered delivery from McDonald's…

Ordered delivery from McDonald's through there mc delivery. The delivery time kept changing so I contacted door dash support. They said they were waiting for a driver. I ended up canceling my more because I had to wait over 3hrs for delivery. This was my first time ordering for delivery, never again. Bad first time experience.

DONT USE McDELIVERY- Appalling Experience

I ordered a McDonalds from Anniesland and they had an issue getting it delivered , swapping it to Milngavie. The driver that did accept it , went to pic k up the food and was told to close the Order as they could not fulfil the order as it had been delivered. Which was inaccurate . To close the order they took a photograph of their bag and said the food had been delivered . I immediately called the driver as the order was closed and I didn’t have any food. They told me what had happened and said i should complain. I called uber eats and complained and asked for a refund. They responded that the behaviours on this order did not qualify me for a refund. I asked them what they meant by this . No answer. I asked for an address so I could formally complain , they said they didn’t have one. I then complained to McDonalds thinking they would help. They pointed me back to Uber. They took my money and did not deliver food. They falsified delivering the food also. I won’t be dealing with either company again.

Mcdelivery sent a delivery driver to…

Mcdelivery sent a delivery driver to give me the wrong order! I ordered McDonalds and the driver gave me wingstop and it didnt have anyone’s name on the bag either ! Then I contacted the customer service number and they denied my refund request after they got my order wrong! Don’t use them! They don’t refund people their hard earned money

Delivery driver decided to accept another delivery before mine, fair enough if on the way but literally went 10 minutes in opposite direction! Food came cold, McFlurry fully melted all inedible and went straight in the bin. McDonald’s blamed uber eats and uber eats cut me off their chat 4 times saying only estimated times on the site. Disgusting service from both uber and McDonald’s and total waste of money. Will be avoiding both from now on

Awful experience

Awful experience. Food arrived over an hour late, cold and inedible. McDonald’s blamed Uber Eats and Uber Eats explained that waiting over an hour for hot food to be delivered is perfectly acceptable. Won’t be ordering from anyone using Uber Eats again and won’t bother with McDonalds either. Appalling experience.

Food arrived at a temperature similar to an item in the fridge for day
Support totally useless and no refund but I take solice from them using my feedback, NOT

Oh my God if there was a minor star…

Oh my God if there was a minor star review I would take this… Every time I fall for this stupid delivery surface and they get it wrong… They always miss a part of your order off and surprise surprise never have a port of court to communicate this error so stop there with missing items off your order and out of pocket… Never use this service ever again

Poor delivery

I live 5 mins from McDonald's and yet somehow my order took an hour to arrive, when it did arrive it was all cold and my drink had spilled so had no drink which I had paid for. Mcdonalds have since refused a refund.

Horrible Service - Missing Items, Wrong Order and No Resolution

I paid £17.67 for a McDelivery and got a completely messed-up order. I ordered a Double Sausage & Egg McMuffin, latte, pancakes, and an Egg McMuffin (no cheese). They only sent the McMuffin and pancakes. The latte and Egg McMuffin were missing, and instead I got 4 hash browns and a Coke—stuff I didn’t even want.

This is unacceptable. How hard is it to pack the right items? I want a refund for the missing food and for McDonald’s/Uber Eats to fix this mess.

Unfortunately can’t score a - so so bad everything cold waited over an hr driver just laughed at me when I complained and complain on the app get £1 back on a terrible £47 meal total joke DO NOT USE unless you have all day to wait poor quality food stone cold !!!

Huddersfield Kirkgate/ M delivery.

I ordered the garlic nuggets meal at 1.20 am. When it was supposed to be delivered the driver gave me a soggy bag with about half a cup of coke in it after spilling and a bag with someone elses 4 bottles of fruit juice. NO food at all. I told him it was not my item and he said he must have given my food to someone else. He said he was going back to ask for it. When he came back after 20 mins he claimed she refused to open the door and threatened to call 999. Obviously lies. Again he gave me the bottles . I have complained to customer service and demanded my £12.05 back otherwise I will report it and go through court . My bank has been informed that I didn't order it. Now I wait. I will be back with an update.

Been trying to contact you for over a…

Been trying to contact you for over a week, the guy you sent to deliver the food had the wrong food i ordered 5 meals with drinks he was handing over 1 small bag he asked for my code to see if it matched the code he had, he then said no it didn’t he then used my code to mark it as delivered and took the other persons small food order back and said he would bring my order back but never did. I have rang the restaurant 3 times, emailed and been ignored and rang customer service left 2 messages and had nothing back, can someone ring me back please!

Freezing food

Ordered food for my boys from McDonald’s through mcdelivery app at 18.20 food arrived at 19.41 stone cold ,I did try to complain but they just totally ignored it and thought it was acceptable to deliver freezing cold food !if they can’t deliver atleast warm food maybe they should not deliver at all!I will never ever use this service again! What a waste of money !and customer service is non existent!

Absolutely awful experience - Cold - No help

Ordered McDonald’s through the McDelivery app for my son’s birthday party. The food turned up 1 hour 20 minutes late, completely stone cold, with missing toys, wrong burgers, and missing nuggets. I spent ages on the phone with Uber Eats, who blamed McDonald’s. The restaurant told me to call head office, which is just an automated line that sent me back to Uber. No one has taken responsibility. The party was ruined, and I still haven’t had a proper response. Terrible service all round.

The absolute worst

Wrong food delivered, no way to contact anyone at all and could not eat the food delivered so paid for nothing. Next order, took 45 minutes to deliver so everything was freezing cold and inedible.

VILE DELIVERY WOMAN DIDNT HAVE A CLUE

Delivery from uber eats macdonalds was over an hour late and then the vile rude woman AYDZHAN H who delivered it didnt have a clue and most the order was missing!! Uber are the worst company to deal with!! I wonder why you can't rate the drivers!! Absolute joke!! DONT BOTHER USING!
