These people are just committing fraud. They ask to be paid first for all the service before they do any work and then they keep putting your work off with 'going away' 'illustrator not available' etc etc. I paid them $5000 just for illustrations and they told me they'll be done in 3 months time but when the time came, it turned out, they didn't even start yet because they couldn't find an illustrator. This company is a fraud, STAY AWAY!!

McMillan is a scam. They "promise" a lot for $300, but it cost me $12,500 American dollars, and the only thing they did was put the E-Book up on Amazon without ANY advertising, which was one of their promises. When I asked for the copyright back, they wanted another $1,200 for it. I had to pull the book down. They asked for $2,500 for a "website" that was supposed to be handled by an outside company called "WebGenSolutions", supposedly located in the Bronx, NY. However, I've been unable to get anyone there to provide either the website or a refund. I BORROWED that money!!

This is a terrible company to deal with and it costs me thousands of dollars to learn the lesson. Some of their employees, to whom I was referred, could hardly speak English. I paid a lot to have a book published and they reversed the back cover with the front and sent that to Amazon for distribution. That book still haunts me, the defective book is still on the Amazon website and I can't get it removed. I'm buying my own books from Amazon for less than 1/3 of what I paid McMillan for books and the McMillan books didn't even have an ISBN on the book.

You may well think this is a fake review - it isn't. My name is Noel Bailey I am a genuine author (British, Australian and American). If you care to Google "Cool Among the Flames", "Imagine for a Moment," or even "They Died on My Watch: 2024 Edition" You can ascertain this for yourself. What I DO have is experience in the self-publishing field (at least, in America). if you choose to sign a contract with any "vanity" or "hybrid" publisher here - it probably isn't going to end well for you. Thousands up front (anywhere from 4,500 to $10,000 - especially if you want a hard-cover). These companies take upwards of TWO years to get your book published - after YOU have done all the work...editing, cover design, etc. I decided to give this company a chance after preliminary discussions and the fact they offered to publish the book within two months - not YEARS! and to charge just $499 for the privilege. I'll be honest - I wasn't expecting to see much - if anything, for my money. I have now received my complimentary copies (including a few in hard cover). The book - "The Chameleon's Tales From the Fireside" is as good as any from all other publishers I've used. True, it took just under three months but that was entirely my fault - changing the text and adding a story or two! Their assistance during the production phase was impressive - designing a cover precisely as I described - an elderly chameleon sitting in a comfy leather chair by a blazing log fire - in a wood-paneled room, reading to an unseen audience. They nailed it! Their editing was both swift and accurate. Every change was notated and recorded for posterity. Three previous publishers - all big names - were utterly useless - taking forever - changing correct text to INCORRECT text - missing spelling errors, line drop-outs, punctuation errors etc......all of which took months of non-action. McMillan DID what they promised and for the amount they advised - in the time-frame they nominated.

I noted one very negative comment below from "Donna" accusing them of being a "fake company" based in Pakistan with no true US address. Well, all I can say is - my complimentary copies arrived with a post-mark just outside New York and I have their NY delivery address. Fedex picked up the box and delivered it here - it certainly didn't come from Pakistan! That's MY experience!
