Melanin Minds was founded by Alexandra during the peak of the Global Pandemic after being made redundant following a term of Furlough as an Event Manager. Initially, in 2015 Melanin Minds was solely meant to raise mental health awareness for the melanin community. Alexandra wanted to start a charity with funded help and resources for those that need support, like herself. Yet, Alexandra hasn’t strayed away from helping people that are struggling mentally while promoting her Caribbean inspired candles. In October 2020, Alexandra launched the first signature Caribbean collection that consisted of 10 scents paying homage to Black Culture. Hummingbird, Crop Over and best seller Zouk Ti Punch plus many more all resonate with life in the Caribbean culture and promoting self-care to add to your routine, making you feel like you in an exotic island!!! Melanin Minds candles, wax snaps and reed diffusers are hand-poured using 100% soy coconut wax, lead free wicks and non-toxic diffuser base. Our packaging is biodegradable, recyclable and re-usable; the packing peanuts are made from a biodegradable starch that dissolves in water. The large vessel can also be easily re-used in every room in your home, for example – make-up brushes, pens, keys and more! We encourage customers to simply wash out your jar and 'Voilà!' The aroma emitted from a scented candle stimulates the part of your brain which is connected to memory and mood, uplifting and boosting your aura. Melanin Minds most famous scent is Zouk Ti Punch – Rum Punch and customers are always attracted by the name but always amazed once they smell and compare to the actual cocktail! Melanin Minds now has a subtle home collection, wax snaps, mini candles that customers can travel with and take their loved scent with them wherever they go. All products are hand-poured in small batches and made with love. 💜

Smells good, looks good - 10/10 brand for candles
I quite often buy your MelaninMinds due to the founder's great products which look and smell really good. I was first introduced to them by my sister years ago and find myself coming back to buy yearly for friends and family from the brand. I definitely recommend everyone to get a candle or 5 from MelaninMinds that wants a smell of the Caribbean from their very homes. The founder is also great with communication and packaging.

Just received my order and I'm delighted, it was a mystery care package and the contents were obviously picked and packed with care. The candles smell amazing and the box of treats was a mixture of sweet treats and pamper products. Go on, treat yourself

Absolutely divine scents
Absolutely divine scents! I was lucky enough to meet Melanin Minds while I was in London for a vacation and purchase a trio of mini candles. Lets just say I do not regret it! My lavender and vanilla mini candle is pretty much finished. I’ve burned it every day since I returned! If you were looking for candles that make you feel like you’re in the beach with a coconut and hand enjoying the sun, this is it. I can’t wait to get my hands on more!

Listen, when I tell you these candles are AMAZING! The smells are unbelievable 😍. They make the whole house smell sweet and fresh. My favourite is the Pomegranate and Lychee....Get some. You will love them.

I have the pomegranate and lychee candle from Melanin Minds and it smells divine! It is long-lasting and makes my living room smell gorgeous. It's actually lit as I type right now. I would definitely recommend these candles :-(

Melanin Minds Candles are Amazing! As soon as you smell them your whisked away to the Caribbean and the frangrances soothe you into a place of peace and calm.
There are so many different authentic fragrances to choose from and they last for hours. Would definately recommend!

Amazing, smelling candles
My friend highly recommended the candles to me and told me how amazing they were. I had went into town specifically for these candles and I was surprised. They smelt amazing, I could have bought them all. To top it off the customer service I received was brilliant. Was lovely to meet Alex (and her mum). The candles make cute presents so I will be back to buy more in the near future.

After my first purchase I was so excited to buy more candles the following month for my house and buy some gift boxes to my friends too. I've told all my friends about these lovely candles too. The tropical fruity fragrances fill the whole house and brighten my mood. Thanks again Melanin Minds!
