Moss motors is a pack of scums!
Scums!, don’t even deserve 1 star. Tried getting a gasket set for my 71 xj6. Part was in stock then when i paid they took the money and told me the part was out of stock. Gave them my customer number and order number to give me a refund and they said. “You haven’t made an order, therefore no refund will be sent”. It was $190 which is alot of money for me. Im furious and very upset. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
Im sick of paying duty when I order…
Im sick of paying duty when I order from Moss..I always repeatedly ask for the tariff code 9966 to be applied to the box..they never do..it will avoid duty on car parts over 25yrs old.
Today I had to pay $81 taxes on a $92 invoice into Canada from Moss.
DONT BUY FROM MOSS USA,,!!!
Made in China
First I accidentally order the wrong part but still would have returned the item, Rear Luggage Rack Miata. No description to it being made in CHINA. ( Will Definitely Rust) Filled out the return and paid $130. To return ship something they shipped for $35. Over two week to get my refund after they received the part. At the very least they could have sent a return label at their reduced shipping rate. BAD customer service.
Just got an cartridge style oil filter…
Just got an cartridge style oil filter for a TR6. I looked carefully before ordering and nowhere does it say that the filter comes with an O-ring. On any of the pictures there doesn't show an O-ring. So I order an O-ring extra. Well what do you think? I open the box and the oil filter has an O-ring with it. I think you oughta mention that an O-ring comes with the filter cause what am I supposed to do with this O-ring now?? by the way I put about 50 miles a year on this car I'll never change the oil again before I croak. Maybe you get with it and mention that there's an O-ring that comes with the filter, at least have a picture with it. So somebody else like me doesn't order an extra rowing for nothing that they have no use for.
Worst company to ever deal with
Worst company to ever deal with.
Don’t be impressed by the large selection of parts they advertise. The quality of the items is very poor and will not stand the test of time. The customer support is terrible. They take days to get back, and are rude when speaking with customers. They take weeks to ship out products even when you pay for two day delivery. They don’t help with returns or future help. They suck from the start to the end. Only thing they care about is your card coming through. Than they message you after weeks of waiting for your parts to ship that it’s now twice the price.

I have been a customer for 20+ years and will never buy another part from them. The do not stand up for the product they sell. They would not replace a carpet set that the don't make a trunk set for.
I usually try to look elsewhere.
Unbelievably expensive with shipping through the roof.
The web site I find is impossible to navigate. I end up googling the part and include moss in the search and am able to usually to find the item.

I've been a customer of Moss for over 30 years but I think I'm done. Every order I've made in the last couple years has some kind of problem. Wrong part, overcharged, mistake in the address etc. When they owe me money due to their mistakes I have to call over and over to remind them.

I sold my car to mossgate motors on the the 15 march 2023 the sale no problem but since then I have received many parking tickets I tried to contact them with to find out why I am receiving them because I am getting chase by a debt recovery company this should not happen in the paperwork was done write
Purchased a number of items
Purchased a number of items, one of them being a tonneau. Turned out it was for a left hand drive. My card was also skimmed at the time of purchase which was also unfortunate. I sent the cover back for a refund using their process and all went well. Was a costly mistake on my part due to postage and customs charges, but lessons were learned.
Willful indifference by Moss
Moss sent my order to an address, and used that same address as my billing address (neither are correct, neither were inserted by me), that I have NO connection to; it’s a jewelry store (I have NO idea how that address got used). When I reached out to Moss, their aggressive indifference was overwhelming. “Why don’t you just go to that store and ask them…..” Huh?? Not, let’s figure this out and make sure you get your order. Shame on me for expecting more from them.

I bought a replacement XKE dash top from Moss Motors that no installers agree to put on. a…
I bought a replacement dash top for a series 1 1/2 E Type from Moss Motors . It was shipped in a box too small for the dash top which caused bending of the ends. I took the cars dash stripped of its original top to 8 different experienced upolhestry trim shops along with the Moss aftermarket das top. . None of the shops would agree to put the top on I purchased from Moss Motors. In explaining their reasons why, I repeatedly heard from the shops that the aftermarket was too thick, too stiff in certain places and would require strong epoxy not normal adhesive spray to attach it. When I started to hear the same litany of reasons why different shops declined installing it , I realized they were correct in their evaluation of this aftermarket dash cover . Now I am left with a car that needs a dash top and I am relatively sure that all these aftermarket tops are all from the same manufacturer regardless of the retailer selling them . I am surprised in a video of a retailer in England selling these aftermarket dash tops the naarrator glanced over the differences between the original dash top and the aftermarket one. The aftermarket's stiffness, thickness, brittleness in certain areas make it a poor choice for replacement I agree with the installers that regular upolhestery spray would not work due to the stiffness of these aftermarket tops. The British retailersaid you can use a hairdryer to warm up this top with its stiff composition but as you work one small section it would gradually stress sections that havent been heated yet and that is going to lead to creasing or cracking. If it is as easy as their sales people claim these tops are to install how about making a video on you tube of you or someone installing one of these aftermarket tops on camera and on youtube . All I know is that our shop is stuck with a $300 top thats worthless to us and I would feel guilty unloading it on some DIY enthusiast.
Since we have two of these same series E Types waiting in the wings to do dash replacements on, I eagerly await a video you can refer me to or one your group produces of a filmed installation, step by step, of one of these tops from Moss Motors or one of the hundreds of these aftermarket dash tops the British upolhestry retailer claims to sell I thought it was interesting that their are no product reviews of items on Moss's web site nor is their a place to write them on their site. If you know of a video showing the installation of one of these aftermarket dash tops please include a link to it in your response for my reference and your viewers reference. . Thanks
Their parts catalog shows the part I…
Their parts catalog shows the part I needed and ordered. Very small part weighing 7 ounces cost $24.00 shipping!! The part was NOT what was pictured in the catalog but had the right part#. Cust service said would look into it but never got back to me in 3 days. When I called they seemed annoyed that I was following up. Told me to ship the part back at MY expense. Told them I will not pay to ship back THEIR mistake. They said then too bad. No way to talk to anyone in charge. They corner the market on old car parts so they just don't care. Will order from another company in England from now on.
customer service needs improvement
Lacking customer service follow up. We spent several thousand with them. We had one defective part and returned it. They charged us $100.00 for shipping the defective part back. They said I wouldn't be charged since it's not our fault it needed returned. I wrote several emails and called several times, and they never would give me an answer or credit.
Should have read the reviews before I…
Should have read the reviews before I placed an order. I had the same problem as other when ordering a "$649 complete exhaust". A $4 part (flange gasket)was not included. A part in the middle of the system. Had to order extra parts to get to the $10 minimum purchase. Then they only shipped the parts I didn't need and the needed part took over a week. Bottom line: I can't depend on Moss Motors to provide the customer service that my customers demand. Not a place for professional shops to use.
I had to return a car cover because it didn't fit.
I had to return an MGB car cover because it didn't fit easily around my two side mirrors. My refund was only the cost of the cover, not any of the shipping. So I ended up paying almost $100, nearly the cost of the cover, in shipping. Needless to say, I will not be buying anything more from them in future. Couldn't there have been some sort of compromise on these charges? (Apparently they preferred to lose a long-standing customer?) After all, I didn't return it for some trivial reason. The cover didn't fit my car.
Just a little disappointed
Just a little disappointed. I had purchased a exhaust system but I had forgot 1 more part. So I called the next day to see if I could add just 1 more item and include it with what I purchased the day before. They told me the exhaust system was already shipped, which I know was false because I hadn't received a confirmation that it had been sent yet. So the moral of this story is, for a 89cent product, I had to come up finding were to spend $10 on. The sales guy was a little cockpit too.
I have ordered over 2000 dollars worth…
I have ordered over 2000 dollars worth of parts to complete my 1960 mga , trim , rubber kits , lights parts to rebuild my windshield frame I have not yet had a piece go on the car that has not had to be modified in some way shape or form. I have had to rebuild old used parts because new ones from moss just will not fit . I bought the windshield frame mounted mirror kit only to find the main part of the kit the bracket aims the mirror mount so 95% of your upward mirror adjustment is used just to see the back of the car they could have angled the bolt holes to actually aim the mirror bracket straight back.
The upper corner brackets look beautiful but are much to thick to fit inside the frame and the pins for the top are a full 1/4" to short , I've compared them to 4 sets of oem brackets and only 1 of the side bolts even came close to fitting in the original holes . I would suggest moss deliver these parts the right thickness to fit the frame with the right pin length for the front top bow and just drill the top frame holes and leave the side holes to be drilled and taped by the end user
The handles (windshield support brackets) had to be heavily reworked where they mount to the windshield as a proper windshield assembly screw would not even pass through the holes provided the bolt centers on the brackets just barely allowed me to mount the bracket rather than allowing for adjustment as the original brackets do . I know these cars are old and not built with cnc equipment but when I compare old parts from several cars know to be original those parts are all very similar and not even close to the new moss parts the rubber parts are almost all oversized except the taillight plinth pads which are actually to narrow and poorly finished on the edges ( moulding flash all around) I am not a first time builder but have had over 160 cars at least 40 of which where full ground up restos . Moss has a great opportunity to make these cars that they supply parts for beautiful and functional and fun to work on ,they just need to provide the customer with quality parts that fit Richard Cooke
Customer service is terrible
Customer service is terrible! They’re great if you’re buying, but have a problem snd there’s always someone else they have to speak to to resolve an issue! Customers expect better service these days!
