Would definitely recommend

Sales people were there if you had any questions and wanted to see in any cars but didn't pester you. Hugh our salesman was very helpful, answered any questions I had and wasn't pushy with anything.
Would definitely recommend.

Aftercare has let them down this time!

I have financed over the years around 6 cars from motorpoint and never had any issues, they’ve always been helpful and aftercare has been good if I have had a little problem.

However this time hasn’t been the same, I am only trying to ask a question about an issue I flagged 2 days after taking out the finance ( about the car) and have been ignored via email 4 times now despite repeated chases. Really disappointed considering I always give them my custom over the years

Customer service / aftercare

Do not go near this company with a barge pole my daughter at 18 bought a honda civic cash with all her savings. The car had marks on the paint work she was assured they would be sorted so they buffed the mark out and it came back the following day. Took the car back and they buffed it again .as you can guess the marks came back .
I've since been to a top class body shop and been told the mark is under the paint from when the whole driver side of the car was painted so now we are left with a paint shop bill .
Very poor customer service.

The young man Reece, was very knowledgeable and helpful.
He made me feel very confident on my test drive as I had never driven an automatic car.

Avoid Motorpoint at all costs

Avoid Motorpoint at all costs. I bought a car from them in December, spending over £20,000.
Within a few months the car developed an engine rattle when started. It has been to two separate garages, neither of which can diagnose the issue. The car has just had a service and the MOT came back with an advisory for a wheel bearing, something that should not be happening on a car I’ve owned for barely six months.
I purchased the two‑year extended warranty, sold to me as “peace of mind” for any future faults. In reality, it’s not worth the paper it’s written on.
You can’t get through to the warranty company the phone line is constantly busy and disconnects.
The warranty won’t cover the wheel bearing because it “hasn’t failed yet,” and now that I’m aware of the issue, they say it won’t be covered even if it does fail.
Motorpoint themselves refuse to help because I “can’t prove” the fault existed at the point of sale yet they can’t prove it didn’t, but because they’ve already taken my money, they’ve washed their hands of it.
As for the engine rattle, I’ve been told I must authorise and pay for the investigation myself, and only if the fault fits within their vague, never‑properly‑explained policy will they consider covering it. So I’m expected to gamble more money on a car that’s already proving to be a financial risk.
I asked for a refund for the warranty because it’s clearly useless, and again I was told I “can’t prove it was mis‑sold.” they also can’t prove I was ever told the misleading information that convinced me to buy it.
Motorpoint’s after‑sales support is non‑existent. Once they have your money, you’re on your own. I’m six months into ownership and facing faults, costs, and stress I paid specifically to avoid.
Stay away from Motorpoint. Their warranties are worthless, their customer care disappears the moment the sale is complete, and their refusal to take responsibility is shocking.

Could do better

When I first contacted Motorpoint by phone and told them what I was looking for, I felt very rushed. I felt I was pushed into buying a car I had never seen. As it happened when I went to look at it I loved it and the guys at Motorpoint Derby were very nice. My biggest regret, however is that I didn’t look at other cars. While a really nice car it only has one key and I was unaware of how expensive Smart keys are. Because of the nature of the key, I feel extremely vulnerable with only one key. later learnt that the price they paid for the car would be reduced because of this but do not think that was reflected in the price I paid for it.

From booking a test drive to purchasing a car an excellent service

I messaged through the website to book a test drive and was contacted by Owen who arranged a test drive at a time that was suitable for me. I contacted him again to change the time which was not a problem and the car was ready to test drive when I arrived. There was no pressure to buy the car and Owen was on hand to answer any questions my husband and I had. I was part exchanging my car and that went as smoothly as purchasing my new car. Excellent service from start to finish.

Inittially good, went downhill quickly

Initially great service online. Paid for paint protection which I had to argue hugely to be applied. I was at the point of threatening 14 day cooling off period before it was eventually done. This ruined the experience of buying a new car.

Massively disappointed in the quality of the coating applied. Barely any beading and none applied to bumpers or glass. Whatever they used inside gave me a headache driving for the next 2 days.

Dont waste your money on it. Stick another 1-200 and get a proper detailer to do it.

Selling my car... Horrible Service

I went to sell my car as i was getting a company car. The manager that dealt with us was very rude and tried to knock off 700 pound for an issue that would have cost 120 at most to repair saying he was a mechanic... (not likely) they also wanted invoices for services making us feel he was questioning my service history. Also the customer service was bad. We waiting 30 mins before someone came to see us. While we waited for 30 min the staff were just chatting amongst themselves. Horrible experience we walked away and wont be back ever. I sold it to another well known company the day after with no issues, and for the price i wanted. Motorpoint Burnley
