Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very sorry to hear about the trouble you had with the fitment. The DKS088 is indeed the correct part for the HJ-17 visor as you say, so it’s concerning to hear that it didn't line up as expected. We certainly wouldn't expect you to have to modify the insert to get it to fit and we never want a customer to have to modify any part, and we always recommend getting in touch with our team if you encounter any difficulty before doing so.
We have since tested that specific Pinlock model on a HJ-17 visor here at the shop and can confirm it is the correct fitment (it fits in the bottom of the top two cutouts). It could be that an adjustment of the visor pins might have been needed etc. but is difficult to say without more information.
