Can I give negative stars
Can I give negative stars? We tried to use this company for lessons in August; however after paying for 4 lessons the local store had no record of the lessons. I was able to get my money back. Fast forward 8 months later. Tuesday I was charged $184 four times for lessons I did not request or authorize. Customer service would t help me stating they don’t deal with billing. They would not connect with with anyone who could and said I needed to call the store. I called the store and had to leave a message for the manager to call me back. Have not received a call back. Today, I was charged $920 dollars for online lessons that I did not order or authorize. I called the store again, and was told several people have had similar issues this week and that it may not be corrected until next Friday (8 days later). This is unacceptable - I am disputing charges through my bank and have cancelled my card so no further transactions can go through.

I would give them zero-total scam. They came to my daughter's school almost three years ago, which makes this extra embarrassing, and claimed to be selling rent-to-own instruments, that would be paid within two years. Instead, they keep billing you, ignore the contract that they have you sign, double charge you, and play stupid like they thought you just rented the instrument. I have paid $2400 for an $812 used instrument. I am convinced that the school band director must collect commissions to want to promote such a crooked business, and will also be giving the schoola piece of my mind. This was a used instrument at a promised price of $812, which I have been charged almost $2400 for, and the value brand new through Walmart is $820 new for the same Yamaha beginner model flute. It is a rip off. Buy your instrument somewhere else. I highly recommend anywhere but here. Their parent company is Guitar Center. They were only supposed to charge me $49 monthly, and have charged me $86 for almost a year, and now think I am stupid enough to unlock my card for their crooked attempts to charge it $250a month, which they charged me a few months ago, when I accidentally unlocked it.
Don't do business
I strongly advise anyone considering Music & Arts to proceed at your own risk. My recent experience was unacceptable from start to finish.
First, my order didn’t arrive by the promised delivery date. When it finally showed up, the box was open and one of the items was missing a part. I emailed customer service and received no response. I then had to call twice before anyone bothered to address the issue — and even then, what was agreed upon during the call was not honored.
To make matters worse, Music & Arts charged my credit card for an additional device without my authorization. That alone is enough to lose my trust in this company.
Because of all these issues, I returned everything. I shipped the items back on January 4, 2026, at my own expense, and have yet to receive a full refund within five business days of receipt.
This was one of the worst customer service and purchasing experiences I’ve had in years. I will not be doing business with Music & Arts again.

Unprofessional Staff - Bellevue WA Location
I could be completely misreading the situation, but based on my brief encounter with the staff at this location, I would not rent from here. I called ahead to confirm they had a viola available—the gentleman I spoke with was very polite and helpful—and rushed over with my daughter after soccer practice, hoping to arrive before closing. We got there 10–15 minutes before 8 PM.
As we pulled up, we saw two employees: one behind the register and one on the sales floor. The woman on the floor looked directly at us through the window, threw up her hands, and appeared to mouth something that resembled obscenities. Her gestures seemed to suggest we should “get the f* out,” though I admit it’s possible I misinterpreted her body language. Or maybe they were just lip-syncing to some hard rap music?
Either way, the interaction felt hostile and confusing. I left without entering the store. And look — I understand how frustrating it is for a customer to come in 10-15 minutes before closing but it still doesn’t justify the behavior.
Sent them money for an item but nothing has come
I ordered a sax stand on 8/2. Website said it was in stock and I got an order acknowlegment. Since then total silence. I cannot get through on the customer support line. I have written them an email. I hope they will respond.

I ordered a mute online. It hasn't come after 2 weeks, though the website said it was in stock and would take 3-5 business days to ship. I called the customer service number and was on hold for an hour. I sent email, heard nothing back. These guys are terrible. Buyer beware!!
Music and Arts WEBSITE has horrible customer service
This is for Music and Arts actual website because the store itself in Selma TX was helpful. Customer service on Music and Arts is HORRIBLE. I sent an email and I called no response. No one ever answered the phone. I was told leave your number and they will put you in que. They literally called back a week later! Also they never sent an email conf that my instrument got sent the store. Luckily, I called the actual store and they helped me out. I was going to leave this review on their actual website but there is not where to put anything other than on the item you bought which we shall see if its any good.
Canceling a gym membership is easier than canceling the instrument rental
I rented a clarinet from Music & Arts for my child’s school year. The rental itself was fine, but trying to cancel it has been needlessly difficult. There’s no way to end the rental from your online account—you have to send written notice and then wait on hold FOR LITERAL HOURS just to get a return authorization.
The process feels outdated and intentionally inconvenient, especially now that the school year is over and we simply want to stop being billed. It shouldn't be this hard to cancel.
I won’t be renting from them again, and I’d recommend other parents be cautious and keep records if you do.

False Advertising and Poor Customer Service – Avoid Renting Here
I had an awful experience with this store. On October 3rd last year, I visited, hoping to rent instruments for a 4-month contract, with the idea that I could rent again in the spring if needed. However, the salesperson completely misled me. He falsely claimed that if I rented for 10 months, I would get to keep the instrument free for the summer. I trusted this and proceeded with the rental.
I paid the full amount in-store for my rental, thinking everything was squared away. But to my surprise, I started seeing unexpected charges of $43.46 on my credit card. When I returned to the country, I contacted the store to clarify. The manager then blindsided me, saying I should have renewed by June 1st to receive the promised free summer rental – a condition that was never mentioned before. Instead of offering to fix the situation, I was told to return the instrument immediately, which I did that same evening.
The worst part? No one followed up. After waiting 10 days with no communication, I contacted customer service again. I spoke with Jorge, who said he couldn’t process a refund and would escalate the issue to his supervisor. I was given a refund request number and promised a follow-up within 24 hours. That follow-up never came.
In the end, I lost both my money and the chance to renew the instrument because of false advertising and horrible customer service. This store not only misled me but also completely failed to take responsibility. Do not trust them – they’re clearly more interested in squeezing extra charges out of customers than in being honest. With having a marketing background, I know that word of mouth can have the biggest impact on a business.

Contract for 15 payments total of 503.00 I had to call and point it out. They issued a check for the 10 extra payments they took and now are turning me into collections saying I owe. Ive decided to let them. No resolution all overseas service reps. Better to buy a used one then deal with this company
I would never recommend this company
I would never recommend this company. I had an agreement with Ken Stanton music and had been making payment plans on a Lease 2 Own. We were under the impression our instrument was paid off. Come to find out Music & Arts took over the contract. Redid it and now saying I owe for another 3 years when I should be done with this thing. Their customer service is terrible and should be fired immediately. Outsourced too from the 3 interactions. Also the one Rep did not submit my escalations so it sat forever. I had to call back in to get help. Do not buy from them. They are not helping me resolve this issue. If anyone from Music & Arts wants to reach out to me. Go for it!
Problem after problem
Where do I start? First, terrible customer service. Every time I call in, the reps seem to have an attitude like I am inconveniencing them.
Secondly, for the second month in a row, they have just taken money from my account, without prior authorization. They stated that they don't need it, since my account is in collections. This is the worst business practice I have EVER experienced. I never agreed to them taking out $100 every two weeks, yet they continue to do so. They should be ashamed and I will NEVER EVER rent from this terrible business again.
When I called in to voice my concerns, the reps had no sympathy. Totally dissatisfied with this company. BEWARE!!

Company continued to bill my credit card after my purchase of rental instrument per the agreement. Numerous calls over a several month period - Every call to customer service was met with a promise to resolve. It took 6+ weeks to resolve (is still ongoing) and a BBB complain filing. After deleting credit information - they started mailed me bills with collections threats. Do NOT rent from this organization - they will continue to bill you after your obligation is satisfied, apologize, make promises to resolve but will not. Reps will promise refunds but will take 5-7 days and when none is received - a follow up call will be met with another promise to refund - but escalation will take additional 2-3 days.
