I continue to find the results of the work of the team at My Danish Roots invaluable. Initially they helped me locate where in Denmark my great grandmother was born and raised. And now since returning from a visit to that spot where I met a descendant currently living in the homestead, they have translated a treasure trove of papers the family shared with us. From that information the team then added to the family tree they initially created for us and found supporting information from the CPR register, about each of the newly found relatives. Lastly they have offered suggestions on how to go about contacting these family members. This company has earned our trust. We intend to continue our work with them. They are the utmost professionals: highly competent, knowledgeable, responsive and affordable. Our experience partnering with them continues to be enjoyable and gratifying.

This experience has brought so much joy to my life. The staff was able to find many lost relatives that I have been searching what happened to them. I wrote pages of questions I had and what information I possessed. Methodically, most questions were answered and backed up with documention which was translated in English. There were brick walls that were found but am satisfied that everything was done. Also, we had a recording from my Great Uncle Otto who emigrated to the US in 1916 and the staff was able to be translated and transcribed. To my delight the stories were summarized. I wanted a passport and needed to have my birth certificate. I requested it be sent from Denmark to the US Danish Consulate. After several attempts, it did not arrive.
This is when I thought to contact Danish Roots and I am so glad I did. Right away I felt I had found an ally. While this is not work that they typically do, they adapted to meet my needs. I have been working on my genealogy on my mom’s Danish side for over 10 years and during those 10 years I’ve been stumped with many things concerning the names, locations, language, etc. I contacted Danish Roots talked with them and within a couple months they were able to come up with more information than I have in 10 years. The information has always been backed up. I’m very happy as to what they’ve come up with the documentation. They have answered all my questions about name change laws back in the 1800s and any other question i have had. They have always been prompt in responding back. Their website contains information pertinent to researching their genealogy. I would highly recommend that this gets used by individual’s looking for their Danish ancestors

It is easy to use, very flexible and enables you to build up a record for each relative covering most publicly recorded and accessable levents. The search functions are good. I encountered an initial problem when setting up my account, and it was promptly sorted out by their support desk.
