I joined the Llanelli League in November. I really enjoy playing rounders so far. We win some, we lose some, it’s all about the taking part that counts. I take my hat off to the people in charge of MyRounders for doing all the amazing work behind the scenes. Myself and my team really do appreciate all the work that they do. The umpires do an amazing job too. As being quite new and still learning the rules, they are very loud and clear. One of them offered to help me out with tips with batting after the game as they could see I was getting annoyed at myself for not hitting the ball in one of my games which I thought was very kind. I’m too shy so I did not take this offer but it was still nice to know the option was there. (P.S I have learnt how to stand where I hit the ball now from training sessions).
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to play a sport that I absolutely love.

I attended the backstop clinic last night and it was excellent. We started with the basics (backstop 101 :)), built on that throughout the session and ended with putting what we learned into practice in a short game play session. I have taken away so many helpful tips I would never have thought of from Julie and Johno, and I can't wait to bring them to my next game. Thank you!

As one of the first men to start playing within the Rounders leagues, I was able to witness the company and their playing numbers grow exponentially.
The teams were incredibly competitive and the team I used to play in significantly improved and went on to win multiple trophies, The players of the team, then themselves started being selected by other teams due to their own incredible talents.
With the numbers playing now well within the thousands, will mistakes be made?
Of course!
Because as the company grows, along with the players whom are learning, this goes for the company as a whole. They learn!
Try keeping thousands of people happy and content and allowing them a voice and opinion over one individual or another.
Will there be silly minded people whom have their own opinions on how things should be?
Yes there will!
Will there be jealousy of how the company is progressing and growing?
Yes there will!
But I've always found it strange that peoples opinions concerning the negative are always when someone has accomplished something.
People are not jealous of the work ethic or countless hours that individual or individuals have put in to get where they are today.

Concerning anyone considering looking to join the Rounders leagues or to simply wish to try it out.
I have always been a massive advocate of building up anyone's confidence as in life you will find a line of people just waiting to knock you at every opportunity.
But!
The hardest part for anyone attending any type of sporting event is to simply turn up.
If you do go?
Remember, you are not in competition with anyone else, whose sports clothing may look newer or tighter or leaner upon their bodies.
You are not to be concerned if you can't throw the ball, hit the ball or catch the ball.
You are not to be concerned as the weeks go on and your confidence grows and your clothes become looser and instead of becoming out of breath at base two, you now clear base four and your not only smiling at your team mates, but your lack of breath has turned into fits of laughter and whoops, Of joy at your own first full rounder.

I have personally witnessed hundreds of ladies confidence grow, turn up with their children and indeed their partners, I have watched the children become involved and also the reluctant partners join a team.
Then weeks go by and I have seen the same people who are now much fitter, much happier and are now part of something more than just their own team.
( Rounders has created much more than just teams.)
Remember when you do attend.
It's a team sport and it's not just you who will win it for your team.
If you doubt your own abilities, please remember, every single person you see out there playing.
All of them!
When they started, couldn't bowl! Couldn't catch, couldn't hit the ball! And as for remembering the rules.
Well!
That brought its own confusion into play with individuals own understanding of the rules.
But!
Rounders is still going and whilst players come and go for multiple reasons.
I for one am glad I had my time there to witness the change in so many peoples lives.

As the old saying goes " If you don't try it! How are you going to know you don't like it?"

Go on! I triple dare you to give it a go.

When you do hit your first rounder and you get in your car after the game, look in your rear view mirror and say to your reflection!
" I F.......g did it! "

Because you can and you did!

Loved the small group coaching session on backstop skills - was really targeted to the range of skills needed for the position and the way the session was run helped pull them all together in bite sized chunks! Thanks Julie and Johno

MyRounders is hands down the best thing I have joined since moving to Swansea and I am so grateful for everything it’s brought me.

The community and social element is like nothing else, I have been able to make so many amazing friends, with leagues now being active across a range of locations in South Wales. It really is an addiction once you start, so it’s no wonder it’s growing so fast!

I moved to the area 5 years ago, knowing no one except my partner, so was keen to find something where I could meet people / keep fit, joining a netball team, trying parkrun etc, but didn’t quite get that feeling of belonging. In Spring of 2023 a friend mentioned she’d heard of a rounders league locally and I immediately signed up as I loved playing in school! We turned up to Gowerton after being assembled into a brand new team where we all re-familiarised ourselves with the rules. We enjoyed playing each week so much that we entered the same team into Pontardawe indoors so that we could play over winter, and went on to win the league!

You don’t have to be a fitness fanatic to get involved/do well, we play with people of all ages. We have partners playing together, and mums/dads with their sons/ daughters - it’s a really supportive and fun environment. Through playing, I would definitely say my fitness has improved, but the biggest impact has probably been on my mental health, establishing an amazing network around me and just generally feeling a part of something, it really does bring me so much joy.

Leagues are really well organised, with information readily available online / via the Tournify app to follow your teams fixtures and scores. There is also support in designing really professional looking kit (the envy of my partners 5-a-side football team haha!)

Finally this month I got my sister to sign up and she’s loving it just as much over in the Cardiff league, also commenting how friendly and well organised it’s been.

For anyone looking for a boost, whether that’s in fitness, mental wellbeing, or making incredible friends, I could not recommend MyRounders more - you will not look back!

My son has just completed the first block of the Junior Academy and I would just like to say what an outstanding place for young athletes to develop their skills and love for the game, the coaches are exceptional. They create a fun and supportive environment where every child feels valued, while also challenging them to improve. It’s clear that the coaches genuinely care about the children’s. I highly recommend the Junior Academy, I’ve already booked for the second block.

It's a business which is fine. However as a business you need to implement quality control policies and procedures and adhere to these. In this business the customer is not looked after However when you speak out or question anything you will get attacked and chucked out. The bias and unfairness runs from the top down. If you are a yes man you will be fine. Never come across an organisation that their customers are not their priority. Too many are too scared to speak out due to the attack and bullying that will take place. Avoid.

My rounders is such an amazing thing to happen to South Wales. Not only has it helped grown adults create friendships for life and improve their mental health massively. They are now getting the children involved and it’s absolutely incredible to see it grow and grow. My daughter loves it and she looks forward to it each week. Win win, she’s got the rounders bug! 🙌🏽🎉

After watching me play for the last two years, my kids were chuffed that there were rounders sessions being held for their age group. I booked one for year 3 and another for year 8. The sessions were run very well with a range of activities to challenge all abilities and it was clear to see tonight the effort that has been put into planning the sessions. My kids have already asked when the next session is booked and the youngest asking if he can go practice up the field ready for next week. Super chuffed that they enjoy it as much as I do.

Fantastic coaches, inclusive of all abilities. Fun and enjoyable, my son has loved the sessions so far. Highly recommend.

I have been playing rounders for two years and it's been life changing, I've made friends for life and my fitness has improved, as well as so much fun every week. Now, my son has started training with the MyRounders Junior Academy and he is having the best time. He can't wait to go every week, the coaches are fantastic and he's learning a new skill. Highly recommended to anyone of all ages.

Attended the Batting Clinic with the aim of improving my technique. The session was excellent, I have learnt so much to take back to put into practice and share with the team.

What MyRounders has created in South Wales is fabulous, it's such a great community and a fun sport to be involved in. I've joined three teams in three different leagues and am looking for a fourth :-)

Love rounders. The whole community of players, umpires, coordinators, supporters..... one of the best things to happen in Port Talbot. And now extended across Neath, Swansea and looking to Bridgend.
Everyone is so encouraging and supportive and competetively friendly.

I'm so glad I joined MyRounders.
It's the first thing I've done for myself in a long time, from playing to umpiring my confidence has grown and I've met the best people, which I can call friends.

Joining MyRounders has been fantastic! I have met new people, feel connected to a community, and it has helped my mental health. During the game the only things I think about are hitting the ball, fielding, running and my team!! I didn't grow up in the UK and have never played Rounders before. MyRounders is for everyone regardless of experience.

I joined MyRounders at the beginning of this season after not picking up a rounders bat for over 40 years. The combination of fun and exercise is so great for everyone's wellbeing. I have made many new friends, mostly many years younger than myself, but MyRounders is a community and everyone is so welcoming, friendly and supportive. The organisation is spot on with new leagues starting frequently. I would absolutely recommend joining the MyRounders community. As a family there are five of us playing, not all for the same team, so we can be competitive & have fun at the same time.

“ I’m loving it, loving it, loving it” as I sing running through the door every Sunday. Massive buzz from playing an exciting “happy “ sport..that most people associate with playing just in their school days! It’s a blast from the past that just keeps going! Whether you’re young , old, fit, unfit, big, small , skinny, round. It’s a game for all shapes and sizes to enjoy.!
Lots of friendships made, lots of fun, lots of friendly happy people having fun playing whilst getting fitter and healthier every week.
Rounders Port Talbot is very well organised and invites players to bring their families along, so that the children get to meet new friends whilst watching their mum and /or dad playing sport which encourages them to participate in sport and get fit and healthy.
