6 years too late
We had our pool built and the Naked system installed about 6/7 years ago in Northland NZ. We might have been one of the first - at the time we were given virtually no instructions or guidance on operation and maintenance.
Love the system when it’s working - hated it when it’s not because we had no idea what to do.
Technical support and assistance when the pool is clearly not balanced has only ever been provided by our local pool shop (45 mins drive). Direct contact with NZ agent non-existent.
Error readings on the system are unreliable so we have to do frequent testing.
Replaced the anodes twice - both times ordered and received with no guidance or instructions on how to install and reset the system.
Getting emails and links to support/guidance and the app’ now is probably 6 years too late to be happy.

You’re right that 6–7 years ago, particularly in the early days in NZ, our documentation and local support were not where they should have been. We understand how difficult that would have made operation and maintenance, especially when the pool wasn’t balanced.
Since then, we’ve significantly improved instructions, diagnostics, the app, and customer support. While that doesn’t change your experience, we appreciate you acknowledging that the system works well when it’s running correctly.

First time pool owner in Kenmore
I'm a first time pool owner in Kenmore, Brisbane. We purchased the house around 4 months ago with no real handover from the previous owners.
I'm not convinced the Naked System is the best choice for a first time pool owner especially in a very gum tree leafy area like Kenmore. And we've had some very hot days and wet weather which have the pool ownership journey more difficult than it could have been.
I think I've watched every instructional video and read every tutorial on the Naked Pools website. It's been a frustrating journey. I've seen the pool water crystal clear, and various shades of brown and green. My pH levels and water clarity have not been controllable without adding extra acid and clarifer to the pool. The cost of the chemicals adds up very quickly.
The pool is only 18 months old but I don't trust the sand filter is working properly nor the MDX in floor cleaning system.
I have to admit I'm seriously thinking about converting the pool to a salt based system with a corded cleaning robot. That should allow me to actually use the pool rather than try to fix the water quality.
This is probably quite a severe test for a Naked System but it has not worked for me.
I hope others have a better outcome.

Thank you for sharing your experience — we understand how frustrating this has been, especially as a first-time pool owner with no handover and in a leafy area like Kenmore.
Heavy leaf load, extreme heat and wet weather place a much higher demand on any pool system. Without clear guidance from the outset, that learning curve can feel overwhelming. The Naked system relies on good filtration, regular leaf removal and stable pH — if the filter or in-floor cleaning system aren't performing correctly, water clarity and control will be affected.
We acknowledge this has been a severe test and hasn’t met your expectations so far. We’re now working with you directly to help you better understand both the system and your pool setup, and to address the underlying issues so it becomes easier to manage and enjoy.

Naked system for our first pool
Chose a naked pool system for our new pool build. With the help of Indigo Pools in Perth, we had it set up very quickly, monitoring and dosing as well as controlling the pool pump.
Water feels great: no residue after swimming. My family and I are very happy with our new naked pool.
