Car went for 1st test and failed. Grand, got all fixed and went for 2nd test eight days later. FAILED AGAIN! Tester said windscreen was chipped. Which it was for the past 3 years and was no issue 8 days ago either. Absolute joke of a place and now I have to get that sorted and back again.🤬🤬🤬

My car was NCT in Drogheda. Never had my car fail a test and to my surprise it failed due to what they said was a coil spring faulty in rear wheel. You wouldnt believe it my husband had his car NCT few days after again in Drogheda and they failed his car with the same issue as mine. Visual inspection NOT the machine. They are SCAMERS. What makes it worse our mechanic fitting the new ones told us both there was NO issue with the existing ones and were NOT broke. TOTAL SCAM and appallling

Had my appointment at 8.45 got there for 8.00 lovely blonde lady on in the reception area in northpoint 1 ballymun let me go ahead even thought I was early car got done about 8.10 done by 8.30 lovely staff there thanks guys

Originally tested the car in castleisland failed the test on one of the dip beams being too high
Got the light sorted took it to tralee for retest a week later and the light passed but this time they failed the other side after asking how this was possible tralee blamed castleisland for testing it wrong the first time and told me that if i came back after getting the light sorted they would put it through retest for free as it was castleislands fault
Came back after paying to get headlights done again and they said theyre not retesting the car unless i pay for it again
This isnt the first time ive had issuse with the tralee centre they are a joke in there

Failed nct retest on diplights in blarney ,last day for retest,otherwise I would have to do the whole test again,asked Adrian Sheehan at counter in blarney could I do retest again if I get lights focused as it was last day for retest,cudnt fit me in blarney as it almost closed but rang Joe in little island ,got lights focused and passed retest in little island,thank u Adrian and a lovely fella Joe in little island for fitting me in

The 60 euro fee first test my car passed on everything apart from frunt ball joint dust covers.
The 40 euro retest , My car was put trough a very severe ruthless brake test which lasted 15 minutes, Getting the exact same results that passed the first time.
Just before the ball joint dust cover recheck.
Due to the extroardinary and severe abuse my car was put trough a small dampness appeared on a banjo bolt washer reuslting a dangerous fail sticker being secretly placed on my wind screen. The reservoIr was full of brake fluid as was only dampness leak,
So i had to book a retest for the third time and pay another 40 euro, Is it legal to retest a car for something that had passed 2 weeks previously as the test results were identical to the previous inspection?
It proved to me that a NCT Cert is not even worth the paper that its written on, A pure and utter sick joke, a law unto it self. Another government failed identity.

Can someone please explain why all cars are failing on high dip beams at the minute

Returned from NCT Enniscorthy this morning, very pleasant customer service , and very polite. Thankyou.My booking was for 10;45am, I arrived early, was out with my NCT pass by 10:55.

Visit to NCT Arklow 27/06/26. Apart from the usual scruffiness over the years - this visit, no toilet paper, no soap, no anti-bacterial cleanser & obviously a blank stare from the attending mechanic when I informed him! Furthermore no reply from NCT after I emailed them same day!

NCT test out of date. I want to know how the NCT can back date a test? It seems that they are actually stating that a vehicle was road worthy when they actually did not know if it was roadworthy. My vehicle could have had a serious defect for two months prior to the test, yet they certify that the vehicle was roadworthy, at the time of a possible or alleged defect. This is basically done to shorten the time between test and increase turnover in a specific time frame.

I did the NCT with my car 2 times in between 3 days. The first one failed because the offside lights warn lining up. 2 days later I did the same test but the offsides lights were working but the near side lights weren’t working so it failed once again. So in total for the booking €60 and the first fail for €40 so with the second fail €40 so in total I paid €140. I will now be going to Dublin NCT.It was a horrible experience in NAAS NCT and the staff were Extremely RUDE

They messed up the reg on the car and the NCT was invalid. I only realised when I went to update the insurance. The staff up in Dublin were very very rude so I went onto naas and had a chat with the boss man Christopher. He is nothing short of a complete and utter gentleman. Thank you so much for your help and understanding. You are a credit to yourself and your company

I would strongly advise avoiding this car park.
I pre-booked a space because I wanted hassle-free overnight parking and an early departure from Belfast on Sunday morning. The car park was advertised as being open 24/7, so I expected no issues.
However, when I arrived at the entrance, I stopped directly in front of the shutters to allow my registration plate to be recognised, but nothing happened. The shutters never opened, despite my booking being fully paid for in advance.
As a result, I had to find alternative parking at short notice. The only available option was across the road, but unfortunately that car park did not open until 12pm on Sunday. This completely disrupted my plans and forced me to change my entire day. On top of that, I had to pay for another overnight parking space.
The customer service was equally disappointing. It took nearly two weeks for them to respond to my complaint and refund request. When they finally replied, they refused a refund, claiming that the car park manager had confirmed the facility was open 24/7 and that the entrance was clearly marked. After that, my concerns were simply ignored.
The £8 charge itself is not a huge amount of money, but the way this situation was handled is completely unacceptable. The lack of support, accountability, and customer care is what really stands out.
I visit Belfast regularly and often require overnight parking, but I will never use this car park again. They seem happy to take your money, but customer satisfaction is clearly not a priority.
Avoid if you can.

NCT Northpoint - absolute clowns, recently had my car fail on a headlamp beam-hardly life threatening….., I subsequently left my car in for service after and my mechanic noticed one of my tyres was badly damaged on the inside, an actual dangerous situation that NCT missed!!
Now, I’m fully aware that the NCT is home for failed mechanics but surely they should be able to spot a dangerous tyre…..total money making scam and just a way of employing totally unqualified idiots…

My car was NCT tested in Deansgrange today. . I'd give the service and experience 5 stars. The test highlighted the need to replace 2 tyres because of repair plug.... I subsequently replaced the tyres in Tallaght and went to the NCT Tallaght for a visual inspection. What an appauling service. I waited 15 minutes in my car for a visual test, no sign of anyone, so I went into the office to enquire as to when this would be completed. I was told to go back to my car, I waited another 10 minutes then I went back into the office again, this time I was told the visual inspection was completed but i was never informed. I was then told that I should have been waiting outside my car instead of on it. Bearing in mind it was raining heavily. I was told that no staff member would approach me if I was sitting in the car. HAVE YOU EVER HEAR THE LIKES OF THIS. WHAT A TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. I'M SURORISED THEY STILL OPERATE.

I had an NCT appointment in Athlone for my car for the 30th of May 2026 at 20 past 10 I was a few minutes late as I was coming from longford and my kid was with me. When I arrived there was a queue and busy at the centre and I went to the reception they didn’t take my car saying I was late, and when I wanted to talk to the manager they said he is busy. This is not acceptable pure robbery not like they get your car checked on time not like bus or train is always on time so I have to pay again. I drove all the way from longford just for the Nct , this is not okay. Scammers and useless workers

rudest most unprofessional woman in reception. Returned for a visual retest on same evening as the main test, was told to wait outside and someone would look after it for me, waited for 15 minutes and 2 mechanics refused to do the visual for me, my husband went back into reception to be told to wait outside like everyone else, he told this woman that we were refused twice and asked to see a manager, receptionist woman refused to get the manager and started to raise her voice to my husband stating she didn't like his attitude, manager must have heard the raised voice and appeared, agreed to do the visual, car passed and the manager Greg obtained the cert, my husband was so annoyed by how this receptionist spoke to him so he returned to reception and asked how he could make a complaint about he the customer was treated, the receptionist flung a complaint form across the counter without any indication about what to do, he again asked how to make a complaint and she called him an a*seh*le, then proceeded to scream to the manager Greg that she wanted to complain about my husband, we left the centre absolutely outraged that this woman receptionist treated my husband in that manner without any regard for the fact that we were the customer asking for help.

NCT Cork Blarney centre. Wonderfully friendly and positive staff. The receptionist Aidan/Aidrian (I think) was welcoming and reassuring. While we were waiting he came out and wiped the rain off a picnic table for an older lady who was also waiting. The mechanic was so positive when telling me it failed, emphasising the passes first before showing me what I needed to get done to pass. Considering the age of the car it was as positive an experience as it could have been and it was due to the excellent professional staff. Thank you very much.
