I've been scammed by the same person but mine was mercia timber by a guy called John William Richards, I was just wondering if any of you managed to get your money back

Well what can i say absolute fraudster. We order a summer house off his other company shedology on 12 Jan 2020 after reading people's reviews on his page we thought brill...... little did we know what was to come we order through shedology on Thursday night I tried to call to check everything was good for this weekend no answer no reply only to find the company has disappeared!!!! I final got through to him after seeing 50 people having the same done to them for him to call them all liars made me belive still he was coming and I think you can guess money taken by him and no show me disappeared again I'm not the only one there are loads but yet he still gets away with it whilst people are out of pocket!!!! Do not order from shedology/new era/ showcase timber

Well well not turned up at my sons this morning 2/2/2020. How on earth are people getting away with this well let me tell you shedology you wont get away with this one . You are dealing with wrong ones

Very bad experience with shedology - John Richards the owner however has been under many different names. He has scammed over £2000 from me and my partner which was given as gifts from our WEDDING GUESTS! Took are money and did not turn up to do the job. Business details

This company is also known as SHEDOLOGY, they are a bunch of low life thieves, they have a false bank account.
We had part of a shed delivered after two failed dates. Then promises of return to deliver rest of shed and building works as included in price. Now disappeared of Facebook, contact number not working but still on Amazon. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

In August 2019 I ordered a shed advertised on Amazon from a company called Shedology. The owner is the same John Richards described in this thread. I agreed some modifications on a standard design and paid a 50% deposit (£1162) by direct bank transfer as requested. Obviously a mistake in retrospect, but he was very plausible, seemed to know all about sheds and I trusted him.

On four occasions over a month he failed to show up for an agreed delivery after I took time off work. On the last occasion he promised me he would arrive at 11:00 the following morning and never appeared or replied to my calls, in spite of me telling him that it cost me to take time off work. Some of the excuses initially seemed reasonable, such as bad weather or moving workshop but I did eventually grow suspicious after so many excuses and intermittent communications with him. Ultimately, John's failure to contact me when he didn't show and my discovery of his previous history forced me to conclude I'd been scammed.

He has now said he'll process a refund in 2 weeks, although after inconveniencing me so much I believe he'd send it immediately if he was acting in good faith. I'm expecting to have to take further action to recover my money. If I'm proved wrong I'll certainly update this post.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone else who has similar experiences with Shedology. Please post here.

PS 30/10/19 He has now denied knowing anything about New Era Timber (although I have information to the contrary), disputed my account of events (which is all in our emails anyway) and refused to pay my deposit back. Clearly my assessment was accurate.

Please do not buy from this company after hassle over getting delivery, damage to property fascia due to lack of care. after 7 months the wood is splitting and cracked, poorly erected. Cow boy outfit, wish I'd now gone with alternative supplier and paid that bit more to get a quality product. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST.

Do not use New Era Timber/Showcase Timber All is ok till the delivery date then no workshop turns up, 3 missed date after still no workshop. They are crooks just taking peoples money. We were lucky we paid a large deposit £1500 by Visa so i hope they are chasing him for it and i have reported them to the Trading standers. This is the worse firm i have every had any dealings with.

Manny £1430, Phil beb £700, Edward richard £1300, Garth daley £1000, Sukhvir mangat £400, John coumbe £1000, Shane vallance £430, Rudra bahadur £1300, Matt jones £491, Dean chetty £875, all law abiding people been scammed, individually very difficult to get funds reversed , but collectively it adds up to a nice fraud case, the noose tightens, all who read also contact rogue traders bbc tv, (GOOGLE) this is exactly what the are looking for , even employees are turning on him, John richards the plot thickens

SCAMMERS, THIEVES and LIARS
Both Mark and Jonathan say all the right things, they sound like they know what they are talking about when it comes to sheds and the timber and dimensions etc. I ordered a shed through EBAY and the day it was due to arrive - no shed! They do not reply to emails and do not answer the phone. Luckily I paid through Paypal and have got my money back, others have not been so lucky - DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE They also call themselves Showcase Timber Buildings

I eventually received an email from Jonathan on 20/3/2018 which states he has not broken any laws which I assume is in regard to his business name change and in his words has just stopped pandering to Trustpilot and their flawed system that allows anyone and their dog to post even the slightest gripe and where the happy customers can't be bothered to post.
He then goes on to say he is perfectly within the law, maybe not the law of dealing with impossible customers that jump on the Trustpilot hysteria band wagon. He is now on his third business name which I know to and I will update any further information I obtain regarding this company.

I left a very long and comprehensive review of this business after my purchase of a shed from them. After problems with an incorrectly fitted roof Jonathan promised me he would resolve the problem as a matter of priority if I would remove the review as it was harming his business along with all the other negative reviews. Foolishly I agreed to this but guess what no contact after six weeks. Now he's saying he is not going to resolve the problem and I can see why as he is now trading as Showcase Timber Buildings on ebay and New Era Timber no longer exists. Its about time Trading Standards were informed of this business and how they treat it customers.

They take full payment and then ignore you when they don't turn up! ....Until you locate their entire family and explain to the poor family what an awful scammer their relative is!

SO USED MY OTHER EMAIL TO CONTACT THEM I TOLD THEM I WANTED ONE OF THEIR EXPENSIVE SHEDS ILL PAY RIGHT NOW, THEY RESPONDED WITHIN SECONDS, WE THEN CONFRONTED THEM TO SAY WE HAVE ALREADY ORDERED AND PAID FOR A SHED WHERE IS IT.. SHOCK WE DIDNT HEAR A THING AGAIN..

PLEASE PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! YOU WONT RECEIVE ANY SHED OR A REFUND!

After 2 cancelled delivery's i was offered a 3rd which i accepted. 2 days before i tried to contact them to find out if they could give me a delivery time slot but all i got was a Vodafone answering machine. I also tried their website but it seems to be closed down and all sheds sold on there Ebay shop are gone. I came across this page and was shocked by the amount people with the exact same problem. I've opened a case with Paypal as that's the way i payed.

LIARS AND CON-ARTISTS
I can echo most the other negative comments. £500 deposit paid. No shed, no refund and no communication. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

After spending some time looking for a new shed (I moved from a house with a garage to one without) so need a large shed.
I found the New Era Timber sheds seem to offer the best value for money. (Their 20x8 shed on eBay)
After spending a day trying to contact them to discuss my options I finally got through to be told they have some phone line issues.
My requirements were met over the phone & when enquiring about best way to pay they said through a PayPal invoice.
So I went ahead & paid immediately (the full amount) on 20th March with delivery arranged for 7th April.
As the 7th has now been & gone I had NO CALLS before this date to confirm everything was still ok for the arranged delivery date. (Was expecting a call to give a rough time that they would be here)
NO SHED DELIVERED on arranged date (yesterday)
AND NO ANSWERS TO MY PHONE CALLS JUST A VODAFONE VOICEMAIL.
Hopefully I can get my hard earned money back.
Wish I had seen the comments left on here before I made my purchase.
