Working with Calvin and Odyssey Visual Media during the April 2024 solar eclipse was an outstanding experience. Calvin handled everything seamlessly on-site—from setting up shots in a dynamic outdoor environment to guiding the interview in a way that felt natural and engaging. He asked thoughtful, well-informed questions and kept the conversation flowing, which made it easy to speak both technically and personally about the event.

What really stood out was how he translated that moment into the final product. The footage was beautifully composed, the editing was sharp and purposeful, and he did an excellent job capturing both the scientific significance of the eclipse and the emotional atmosphere surrounding it. It felt polished, intentional, and genuinely impactful.

I just received Odyssey Visual Media's photo book "Taiwan" by Calvin Nemec. It was out of print, but a hardcover copy was especially made for me - great service!
The book is the only recent large volume photobook on Taiwan I know of, and offers a great impression of the country in its many aspects (city life and architecture, history, night markets, cuisine, nature and wildlife). Looking forward to the forthcoming second edition!

If you have a challenging video project, requiring resourcefulness in some of the most difficult shooting locations or even in what you thought would be a simple interview, Calvin Nemec has done extraordinary work with me. Always positive and pushing the project forward, I’ve worked with him through caves in Puerto Rico, live events in ESPN shoots and drone coverage over fog covered fields in Virginia, with outstanding footage being the end result. Our last project involved interviewing a 99 year old subject of a documentary, and he showed his ability to interact with everyone involved in a professional and compassionate manner, leaving the interviewee totally at ease.
