I've placed two orders for a total of 6 bottles of the ever elusive Fortaleza Tequila and other hard to find brands. Every bottle showed up, no broken bottles, very well packaged, and exactly as ordered.
Old Town Tequila is my "go to" for finding the brands that we can't get in Oregon where all the liquor stores are owned and operated by the State. I've had great results with my orders.
Refused to ship order?
Placed the order on 4/26.
Contacted them on 5/5 because I hadn't received any communication about the order.
They responded the next day saying the order was under review as to whether or not they would actually send it, and advised I cancel the order and checkout using PayPal. Huh?
Their reasoning was because my shipping and billing addresses were different, and because I'm using a VPN, so they were concerned the order was a scam. First of all, I can't be the only person using different addresses, so how is that suspicious? Secondly, their "scam concerns" didn't stop them from charging my credit card, nor did they bother contacting me to verify that the order was legit. Finally, nothing on their site said one needed to use PayPal if the addresses were different.
Later that day, they emailed me saying they wouldn't ship my order and that they would begin processing a refund.
The next day, I questioned why the status of my order hadn't changed on their website, nor had I received a refund notification. They told me to wait 7 business days. 7 business days later, I email them yet again because no refund. I get an automated email saying the order status changed to "Refunded." They hadn't even bothered to process my refund.
Don't waste your time with this site.

Great Selection, But No Shipping Refund on Out of Stock Items
Great selection, and I've ordered online several times without any issues. However, shipping is quite expensive for East Coast delivery—around $10-12 per bottle. My most recent order was partially shipped due to an out-of-stock item. Unfortunately, the extra shipping cost I paid was not refunded.
I understand that their terms state shipping costs will not be refunded under any circumstances, but it feels a bit disappointing when the issue is on their side. It's something to be aware of, as you won't know which items might be out of stock when placing your order, which makes it feel like a bit of a gamble. Definitely something to consider for future orders.
Fake Casa Dragones
Ordered a bottle of Casa Dragones from them (Joven) due to it being significantly less expensive than I usually see. The bottle was wet and wrapped in saran wrap when it arrived (red flag). When I did a side-by-side comparison to another bottle of Joven that I purchased directly from Casa Dragones, it is clear that they are not the same. Seems these folks are running a scam.

Ordered an expensive bottle of tequila, and it was shipped to me, and when it arrived, it was almost empty. Evidently the bottle was defective and leaked.
It took forever to get a response from them, and when I sent the empty bottle back to them, they only gave me a $50 refund and it was 4 times that price.
I don’t recommend this company and will not be buying any further tequila from them. There are several other tequila vendors across the country.

Absolute disregard for customers
Absolute disregard! I placed an order on December 23 only to receive an email the next day that my order had been “updated” and a refunded had been issued. I can understand inventory and ordering issues however if you issue a refund you actually need to send the money to the customer. I have called at least 3 times only to be told someone will call back with answers. The last attempt I was told a manager would resolve the issue. This issue is not resolved

I have bought Tequila from them twice and both experiences were horrible. The first time I ordered tequila two weeks before I was to leve (with my gifts from tequila town). Luckily I called and was told it could not be delivee4d in time. So I told them to change the address to where I would be on Christmas. They never changed the address even though they said they would. Tequila delivered to my home by GLS who just left it on my porch without having anyone sign for it as required by law. I ordered tequila on September by the 20th as I was leaving on the 21st and was assured I would receive it by then. They send me a UPS notice swaying my order shipped on the 12th. I called to confirm on the 14th and was told the notice was sent in error and my package was to sent earlier that day but that they do not use UPS but rather GSL and told me that that had been having trouble for a while with notices going out for UPS even though they do not use UPS.They also informed me that the package was sent out but the wrong tequila was shippe. GSl siad the package would be delivered by the 15th. When I called GSL they said the package had not left San Diego even though their notice siad ti was shipped on the 13th. They could not tell me why it was sitting in San Diego nor when it would arrive. Even though I have to be present to sign for it.Between Old Town Tequila and GLS incompetence I have no idea if it will arrive before I go on vaAtion on the 21st.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OTHER ONLINE SITE i HAVE USED ARE A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE BUT THEY DO GET YOU YOUR ORDER WITHIN 4-5 DAYS AFTER YOU ORDER AND THEY SEND THE RIGHT PRODUCT.

Total a@sholes. Waited a month to cancel a £400 Christmas order to the Uk - 1 week before Christmas. Ignored all my emails.
If it’s a family business then they have no hope, if it’s commercial then sack your staff and start over as they’re incompetent morons.

I am DONE with Old Town Liquor
A golf retailer who has branched out before they were ready. The website has a superior selection of unique tequila but in an age of fast shipping this company stands apart. As in LAST PLACE. If I don't write and complain my order would never get shipped. A week before Christmas and I have no idea if my gift order is even in stock, let alone able to get shipping information. Customer service barely has a heartbeat and although I have placed four or five orders, I am DONE with OTL.

Ordered a bottle a month ago, ten days after completely silent they emailed saying that I need to pay an extra £100 for delivery which wasn’t on the original delivery cost paid.
I answered no problem saying I needed it ideally for 15 days later and asking if that could happen. They the just decided to cancel my order without asking me prior if I wanted or not on the only fact that it would not meet my ideal date of delivery.
I emailed many times to beg them to not cancel my order that they completely ignored.
In the end they wasted two weeks of my time between ignoring my emails then finally canceling my order at Christmas times, shameless.

Order placed for a month but nothing was ever shipped
I placed an order almost a month. The order consisted of Christmas gifts. I was billed the day I placed the order. Ten daily later, I wrote asking when they would be shipped and about a tracking number. I was simply told I would get a tracking number when shipped. Ten days later, I asked again and never got a reply. I've called them multiple times and usually get a "all circuits are busy" message but occasionally get a recording on a loop telling the store hours with no option to speak to anyone. Two days ago I wrote for the third time. It too was ignored even though I was billed almost a month ago for something never ever shipped. Today my credit card company had to start the process of getting my money back. I'll never order from this company again although prior to this, I was a repeat customer. Avoid this company like the plague! They used to be reputable but no more!

Purchased two expensive bottles of tequila from Old Town Tequila. Everything was packaged extremely well - no leaks or breaks. And it as shipped within 5 business days. Not sure what happened with the other reviewers’ experience, but mine was great. I’d definitely buy from OTT again.

These guys are complete "Richards". I got spammed every day by email until I blocked them. When I'd reply and tell them to take me off their mailing list, they'd reply in turn "please unsubscribe" -- which didn't work.
After a handful of volleys yet still getting spammed, they're confined to my Junk Mail. Seriously deficient understanding of customer service.
From other reviews here and elsewhere, seems my experience is in the majority.
They take your Money and then wait months to ship. They have a large selection… but they…
They have a large selection… but they take your money and then sit on it for months before shipping your purchase. Are they cash poor? If I delete anything from my cart your say (after I place it into my cart) that is not available or out of stock why does it still take weeks or months for you to ship.

I ordered my Jenni Rivera tequila from them and when I did they took my money then told me that it was back ordered.I finally got the email it was being delivered and I still haven't received it! I called them and the supervisor said I was the only one with issues getting my order. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said the owner wouldn't talk to me my small purchase wasn't a worth him talking to me! I got very upset and she escalated the conversation and started to tell me if I didn't stop cursing she would hang up. I was pissed! I have never seen such disregard to the people who pay them and keep them in business! I am done with this company! I canceled my second order immediately! It might have been a small order but I was planning on continuing to buy from them! I hope the owner sees these reviews! Disgraceful!

My father in law finally got his gift 2 weeks after I emailed them my complaint.
As stated previously they've lost a good customer.
